Shweta quits Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao!Shweta Tiwari, the drama queen has finally decided to call it quits. The sexy bahu has decided to walk out of the jungle to get back to her cozy life in Mumbai and to be beside her daughter Palak. Shweta claims her exit was due to unhygienic living condi-tions, which lead to skin infections. She also quotes about their stay in jungle as scary and dangerous (they saw a live huge green snake the other day). Even the other jungle in-mates have decided to pit against each other, since the quan-

tity of food received on a daily basis is quite meager. The drama queen doesn’t forget to mention the jungle bad boy, Akaashdeep Saigal’s behavioral swings as well. She quoted her displeasure towards Akaash’s uncouth behavior towards Fiza.“Tum padhe likhe ho, acche ghar ke ho. Tumhare bhi ghar pe mummy, ya behen, bhabhi hogi... tumhe kaisa lagega jab koi aise baat karega unse. Mein yeh sab appreciate nahi karti”.She also pointed out what the other celebs felt about the

work. “If you don’t work, people complain of you being lazy and not helping. And if you work, then they gossip that all the work is done, to gain publicity out of it.” About her experience in the show she said “Mein yaha pe jungle experience ke liye aayi thi, woh mene kar liya hai... ab mujhe Iss Jungle se bachao.”

I want Love Aaj Kal to break all records: KareenaHer recent release “Kambak-kht Ishq” has seen the best opening of 2009 so far. But Kareena Kapoor wants boy-friend Saif Ali Khan’s “Love Aaj Kal” to even surpass her film’s record and enjoy phe-nomenal success at the box office.“I really want ‘Love Aaj Kal’ to break all box-office records. Yes, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ is my film but then so is ‘Love Aaj Kal’. For both Saif and me ‘Love Aaj Kal’ is a not just a prestigious project but also something which is very close to our hearts”, Kareena told.Releasing Friday, “Love Aaj Kal” is Saif’s first produc-tion venture. Tell her that expectations are huge from the movie as well as Saif and she nods in agreement.“Yes, I’m aware about the huge expectations and I also know that ‘Love Aaj Kal’ has turned out to be a lovely film. The good part is that the film has generated all around positive vibes and everyone expects good things from the film, “ she said. With Saif playing two char-

acters - Jai Vardhan Singh and Veer Singh (the younger version of Rishi Kapoor) - “Love Aaj Kal” touches upon the universal essence of love.According to director Imtiaz Ali, “the process of relation-

ship might be different in different eras, but the expe-rience of being in love re-mains the same”. Another factor that makes “Love Aaj Kal” a special film for Kareena is the fact that it has Imtiaz at the driv-ing seat. “I have worked with Imtiaz in ‘Jab We Met’ and ever since then we all expect so

much from him. He has great sensibilities of a storyteller and can’t set a foot wrong. I really hope and pray that ‘Love Aaj Kal’ manages to strike a chord with audiences in the same way as ‘Jab We Met’, “ she said. Remembering her stint in “Jab We Met”, Kareena agrees that it was an extraor-dinary experience. “To play a character like ‘Geet’ (her screen name in ‘Jab We Met’) doesn’t hap-pen all the time; it just hap-pens. When you begin work-ing on a film, you of course know about the story and your character. However, no one knows how audiences would eventually react to it. ‘Geet’ did strike a chord with the audiences and be-came a household name, “ she said. One expects something sim-ilar from “Love Aaj Kal” as well that also stars Deepika Padukone. Apart from them, Rishi Kapoor and Rahul Khanna will also be seen in pivotal roles with Neetu Singh in a guest appearance.

Dhan Te Nan - It’s Shahid versus Saif in the chartsIt’s Shahid versus Saif in the charts. And if Shahid is jiving to Vishal Bhardwaj’s Dhan ten nan in Kaminey, Saif grooves to Twist in Love Aaj Kal as though there’s no tomor-row.As far as listen-ers’ choice goes, Vishal’s track has a marked market edge, and Pritam has no qualms in admitting it. “I’m the biggest Vishal Bhard-waj fan, no two ways about it. His Dhan te nan is awesome.I can’t stop listening to it. I wish I had com-posed it, ” says the exuberant com-poser.Says Pritam, “Never before have two dance numbers been so closely competitive in the charts. The fact that both Vishal’s Dhan te nan and

my Twist have a old-fash-ioned sub-layer just goes to prove, retro is back.”Both tracks have a ravishing

retro feel to it. While Twist has borrowed its main riff from Hemant Mukherjee’s Nagin, the main hookline

in Vishal’s Dhan te nan sounds suspiciously simi-lar to the opening musical interlude of Laxmikant-

Pyarelal’s Hai hai yeh majboori from Manoj Kumar’s Roti Kapda Aur Makaan. While Pritam’s Twist openly acknowledges its debt to its source material Vishal pooh poohs the suggestion that his Dhan te nan bears any resem-blance to the older song.Vishal does agree though, that Love Aaj Kal is the main competition for the music of Kaminey. However the two current chartbusters, bumper-to-bumper hits of the kind not seen for a very long time, have more in common than it first appears to the eye …

and ear. And only one of them will finally pull the product beyond the finish line.

Indian law firms emerge top dealmakersIndian project finance is hitting a purple patch, helping Indian law firms to beat the world’s biggest to emerge top legal advisors to global project deals, says a global investment bank-ing report. The Indian legal profession, perhaps after In-dia’s famed BPO/outsourcing/IT sector, is the first to get global recognition on this scale. The similarity however ends there. Unlike the IT sector where India had a headstart and main-tained its lead, Indian law firms have emerged from the shadows to beat big and formidable global competitors. In the first half of 2009 India closed 36 proj-ects valued at $31.9 billion an increase of 158% over the same period last year. In its lat-est report, Dealogic, a leading analytics/com-munications firm finds this performance was surpassed by Indian law firms earning the rare distinction of occupying the three top posi-tions under the category ‘Advisors to Global PPP (pubic private partnership) Deals’ and ‘Advisors to Project Finance Deals’. Indian law firm, Luthra & Luthra, came out as both the top legal advisor to global project deals in this period for its role in six deals to-talling $6.3 billion, giving it a market share of 6.3%. Luthra also closed three deals valued close to $3 billion in the Global PPP Deals

category, claiming a market share of over 10%. This is a huge leap for Indian law firms, not only for achieving global ranking, but because they have on their way managed to beat some of the world’s biggest firms on a global stage includ-ing Clifford Chance, DLA Piper, White & Case, Ashurst, Latham & Watkins, and Allen & Overy. ‘‘Dealogic is a highly regarded source of data for the investment banking industry. Clearly, the scale of infrastructure projects across sectors in India has allowed Indian law firms to showcase best-in-class global standards and intellectual depth, particularly of India’s complex regulatory environment,’’ Bank of America, India MD & CEO Vishwavir Ahuja told ToI. DSK Legal with one deal and Indian Law Servic-es with seven deals claimed the 2nd and 3rd slots under Global PPP deals behind Luthra & Luthra. Under the Global Finance Deals category, the sec-ond position went to Indian Law Services which advised 14 deals worth $6 billion. Amarchand & Mangaldas, as the legal advisor to 7 deals worth $5.8 billion, claimed the third spot. The analysis shows that Indian law firms enjoy 22.8% market share in all PFI and PPP deals and 18.1% share in all global project finance deals. When contacted, Rajiv Luthra, managing partner, Luthra & Luthra told ToI, ‘‘This is a valuable rec-ognition for the Indian legal fraternity as a whole. We hope existing and new law firms will keep the momentum going on the world stage.’’ The performance of India’s law firms also made sure that Asia as a region topped project finance volumes across the world. Surprisingly, native Chinese law firms did not make the cut in the top ten.

It’s official! Katrina confesses love for SalmanFinally, the ‘kat’ is out of the box. Katrina Kaif has made a confession that was long due. After using every trick in the book to keep her ro-mantic alliance with Bolly-wood’s angry man Salman under wraps, and snubbing every contro-versy with her coy smile, Ka-trina Kaif has boldly owned up to her cushy clandes-tine love affair with the ma-cho actor. In a candid in-terview given to a maga-zine, the swishy babe has thwarted all murky speculations surround-ing her ever so guarded personal life.Stating loud and clear that she is romantically involved with Salman Khan, the stunner has lashed out at all those stating that her love af-fair with the feisty Khan has gone kaput. And it’s not just a one-line ad-mission of her love for her beau, but Kat has snubbed aside her shy girl image to divulge some saucy details about their rocking rela-tionship. Speaking to a maga-zine, the stunner stated that she is so hooked on to Salman that she carries his picture with her at all times. Besides stating that Salman’s a ‘wonderful person’, the

of her overtly possessive beau, the swishy babe has stated that she is extremely happy in her relationship.

And as for the marriage question rul-ing everyone’s mind, Katrina stated that though Sallu is all set to tie the knot, she is not ready to settle down any time soon, thereby mak-ing Salman wait. Well, Katrina and Salman’s love affair

might be com-mon knowledge but it just became official.

Nandana Sen’s kiss gets a missNandana Sen is making news, why? Well because the pe-tite actress choose to scorch the screen by kissing co-star Anubhav Anand not one or two but three times!Nandana seems no holds barred when it comes to her on-screen image as a sexy diva and really didn’t seem to shy away from kissing a newcomer like Anubhav for her new film Perfect Mismatch. For her new flick Nandana shared three on-screen smooches with her co-star.But seems like even three time smooching didn’t prove lucky enough for Nandana Sen, as the filmmakers decided in the end to cut out the kissing scenes from the film Per-fect Mismatch, to make it a family entertainer. So eventu-ally in the end the whole kissing shots were edited from the film, well Nandana it was a Perfect Mismatch to begin with, kissing a newcomer for a family entertainer is a seri-ous no-no. Looks like someone is going Mallika Sherawat’s way. But then darling like they say if its too hot to handle then just give the kiss a miss!

Konkona finds business of cinema boringShe is known as an intel-ligent actress but Konkona Sen Sharma doesn’t want anything to do with the busi-ness of cinema - in the literal sense. “I find the business of cin-ema very boring - the trade of cinema, the facts and fig-ures, the money - that’s not what appeals to me about cinema and frankly, I don’t even know about it..., “ said Konkona.

“What I like is playing different characters, meeting and interacting with creative person-alities and not the profits, “ she added.Asked how she manages her own accounts, Konkona said: “I have a CA (chartered accoun-tant) who handles my account. But

that’s like a general account. I don’t have a very huge, Bollywood-like account.” The National Award-win-ning actress, known for do-ing offbeat roles like “Mr & Mrs Iyer” and “Page 3”, will be seen next in a fully-com-mercial movie “Wake Up Sid” with Ranbir Kapoor. She is also doing “Mirch”, where she will play a double role for the first time.

Trisha and Asin’s competition in BollywoodIt was Asin who made a rolling start of her career in Bollywood with Aamir Khan starrer- Ghajini, the Hindi remake of Tamil flick which starred Surya in it. Meanwhile, Asin was shining bright in Bolly-wood; Trishna was wait-ing for the right project to come her way so that she can jump into the competition with her southern counterpart in the world of Bollywood.

But now the wait is over for Trishna as she has been signed by non-other-than di-rector Priyadarshan for his upcoming flick Katta Meeta, wherein superstar Akshay Kumar will be paired with the gorgeous lady. Not only this, Trishna has also signed three other big budgeted Bollywood flicks. It seems the cold war be-tween the two southern beauties is about to start in the glam-world of Bol-lywood. We would have to

wait and see, who wins the final battle and has a pro-longed career in Hindi film industry.

Look hot in cool citrus shades!

Playful, fresh and flamboy-ant – shades of yellows and greens are ruling the stylo-meters of city’s fashionistas this summer! Slip into a tangy lemon tee or a chirpy fluorescent green dress, and let the colours work their magic. “These are the must-wear colours for this season. I’d suggest a lemon yellow dress for that extra zing and freshness,” says designer Abdul Halder. And these fresh hues look good in all fabrics like cotton, linen, etc. “It is natural that every-one wants to sport the ‘in’ colours, but the outfit type and colour should be cho-

sen according to the occa-sion. Also, the cut of a dress can either enhance or mar

the colour,” says designer Ranna Gill. Citrus colours allow for di-verse accessorising opportu-nities too, so you can go in

for a sunshine yellow bag or a pair of stilettos in electric green. Adds Ranna, “Lemon

citrine and buttercup gold are colours that mark new begin-nings.” Oft referred to as the tricky colours, here’s how to wear them right and bright. “Yellow is hot. But since it does not go well with all skin tones, one should be careful about sport-ing it,” says Thenny, adding, “Tanned skin and yellow is a complete no-no.” “Avoid wearing yel-low pants,” says Ab-dul. However, Amit Sandhu, a model,

thinks otherwise. Says he, “If you have the attitude then don’t be afraid to slip into a pair of yellow or green trou-sers.”

Is the harsh Sun taking the freshness and oomph out of your wardrobe? If yes, then it’s time to slip into some happy hues!

Tushar Unadkat is an internationally acclaimed and award winning art director. He is the CEO and Creative Director of Mukta Advertising. He is also the moderator of Noveau IDEA (New Indian Dimension in Entertainment and Arts. StarBuzz, recently got an oppurtunity to explore with Tushar Unadkat his opinions about arts in CanadaWhat are your opinions on art in Canada? Where do you see it going?

My opinion on art would in comparison to Mum-bai, London, Paris, New York, Germany and Netherlands as I’ve lived and worked in these places before moving to Toronto.Artists in Canada are like farmers and they live by seasons. Summer is the harvest time, so art-ists need to make the most of it while it lasts. Entertainment business slows down during the winters and there is less to do for professionals.Post 9-11 incidents, the US/Canada immigration border rules got stricter and reduced the oppor-tunities that American film-makers brought to Canada. The film-industry got affected signifi-cantly due to this and we see limited number of projects through the year. However, here is where I see it going…In 2006, the government announced to build “Filmport” on the harbor-front that holds the de-velopment rights to the lands that are leased to the city of Toronto economic development cor-

poration (TEDCO) for a long term.Filmport will be the “convergence district”, anchored by the state-of-the-art film and televi-sion production facility with the World’s largest purpose built sound-stage. It is claimed that the Filmport will stand at the leading edge of the world’s film, television, music and interac-tive cultural industries over the total site area of 20 hectares with an estimated total develop-ment cost of $275 million and an economic contribution of $400 million.Besides, Canada is family oriented beautiful country for bring up children and have a con-servative life-style. More and more immigrants are attracted to this economy who has settled here peacefully. What do you feel is the role of art in the growth of humanity? The role of art in the growth of humanity is to encourage conscientious development in public awareness.

The role of art is to teach about human rights and responsibilities by highlighting our common humanity and prompting a deeper understanding of issues of justice, peace and progress. You are multifaceted, what is your favorite art form? With ten years of professional academic training in the art & design discipline, I believe that the most influential medium of education is “films”. With years of experience in advertising, film & photography, fashion & choreography, event direction & management, I’ve gained skills and knowledge in the entertainment industry.I’ve written scripts that I wish to transfer to a silver screen. Riteish has doubts about honest journalistsActor Riteish Deshmukh says he was per-plexed when film-maker Ram Gopal Varma narrated his role of an honest and sincere journalist in his media-based film “Rann”. “Ramu (Varma) nar-rated the role to me. He said you have to play an honest, sin-cere and fair journal-ist in my film. And my first reaction was, ‘I hope this is not a fictitious character’, “ Riteish told.“I agree there are loads of people in the

media today who take up issues and use the medium to bring justice, as also bring in a certain sen-sibility among society, but a lot of them don’t. Facts are blown out of propor-tion and a lot of them sur-vive on rumours.“So I had my doubts about how real my character is. But the experience of shooting for the film was great, “ he added. “Rann” also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Rajat Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Purab Kohli as well as Gul Panag.

Britain’s biggest DVD pirates jailedKhalid Sheikh and two sons made £7m operating from warehouse and houses and exploiting illegal immi-grantsThe pirate operation sold multiple copies of new films, some even before their cinema release. A fa-ther and his two sons who kept dozens of Chinese workers in virtual slavery to run Britain’s biggest DVD piracy operation were jailed for a total of 16 years today.Khalid Sheikh, 53, and sons Rafi, 26, and Sami, 28, of Walthamstow, “hid beneath a veneer of respectability”, using their previously legiti-mate business selling DVD accessories as a front, as they made up to £7m from the three-year scam. They used industrial equip-ment imported from the far east to burn box-office hits such as Ice Age 2, The Da Vinci Code and Iron Man and sold them for £3 on street corners, sometimes even before their cinematic release. The family, who

claimed housing benefit, supplemented their already multimillion-pound turn-over by copying so many porn and bestiality films some sex shops were driven out of business.

They used their profits on luxury cars and first-class flights around the world but police believe much of the money has been smuggled out of the country.Southwark crown court heard how, after two years of operating out of a small shop in Walthamstow, east London, the fraudsters were able to buy a £658,000 warehouse headquarters in Essex. They farmed their business out to a string of “factories” or semi-detached houses, staffed by largely il-legal Chinese immigrants.John Hardy, QC, pros-

ecuting, told the court they “worked round the clock in conditions of virtual slav-ery”.All three were previously found guilty of conspiracy to acquire criminal prop-

erty, while the broth-ers were also convicted of conspiracy to break the Copyright Act and conspiracy to break the Trademarks Act.The brothers were each jailed for six years while their father was jailed

for four. Sentencing, Judge Martin Beddoe told Khalid Sheikh: “What I find really distasteful is you corrupted and exploited your children for your own financial in-terests.” The judge told the brothers they were “moti-vated by greed and selfish interest”.After the case, Detective Superintendent Russell Day, of the Met’s film pira-cy unit, said three years of hard work and investigation had resulted in the disman-tling of “an extensive crimi-nal network”.

of Federico Fellini and Satyajit Ray with her cinephile dad. Ray was spotted by an agent in a crowd during a family vacation in India when she was 16, when she began modelling. Her first assignment was for Bombay Dyeing and then she went on to the front page of Glad Rags. She has never looked back once she got a break in to films. Incidentally her first foray into films was a Tamil movie called ‘Nethaji’ with Sharath Kumar in 1994. Her Bollywood career started with ‘Kasoor’ in 2001. She then got a chance to work with the famed Deepa Mehta in Bollywood Hollywood and Water .

Lisa Ray has been featured in the Canadian edition of Hello magazine as one of the ‘50 Most Beautiful People’ of the country.

Here goes the chat:How are you liking Masala Mehndi Masti? It’s really cool. I’m liking it very much. I am honoured to be here. What kind of works are we going to be seeing you in?I’m working on a few movies that will come out soon. Most don’t have any South Asian context. The list is online on imdb.com. (Trader Games, Defender, Let The Game Begin, Somnolence etc)Is there anybody in particular you would like to work with?I don’t really define it that way. I’m very open. A great actor is someone who is dedicated

to their craft, that’s all. That’s all that matters. I

get along in anyway with a variety of people. So there is no one person. In the past has there been a project that has been special to you?Yes, definitely Water. It has been the most significant film of my career so far. Also because I really value Deepa Mehta. As a director and as a friend and as a mentor. It’s just one of those really special experiences. Everything just worked. We also had an amazing time shooting the film. I am very very proud to have been a part of it. World unseen was also something that has been very close to me. I do like films that are challenging, not to say that I don’t enjoy light films or commercial films. I just recently shot an episode of psyche, which is really popular in the US. But yeah I am definitely more into intense work. What are your opinions about the kind of work MMM is doing in the GTA for the South Asian community?Well they are really doing amazing work. I really admire the dedication of Abhishek and Jyoti, I am really honoured to be here, I’m being honoured by the festival. I think it’s about celebrating the community. It’s giving us a chance to dissolve boundaries.

“Yes, definitely Water. It has been the most significant film of my career so far. Also because I really value Deepa Mehta. As a director and as a friend and as a mentor. It’s just one of those really special experiences.”

Kirsten vows to come hard at next T20 World CupNEW DELHI: India may have been outplayed in the Twenty20 World Cup this time but coach Gary Kirsten says they will come back hard in the next edition of

the event which is just eight months away. “We will make sure that our preparations next time are good,” Kirsten said. India, who won the inaugu-ral edition in 2007, did not

even make the semifinals this time, losing all their su-per eight stage matches. The former South African opener once again stressed on the importance of pre-

serving Test cricket. “We just need to be care-ful. Twenty20 and the In-dian Premier League are a great product, very popular. But Tests is what the game stands for. It’s been around

for so long,” he told a news channel. Kirsten also said the IPL, which was held in South Af-rica this year, should stay in India.

“The fans here enjoyed it immensely. It was an amaz-ing experience for them but IPL should remain in India because it’s an Indian prod-uct,” he said

Eggs are good for the heartUS egg expert Dr Don McNamara insists that their bad reputation is no longer warranted and even Heart Foundation has lifted its recommended intake to six eggs a week. “Seniors have been afraid to eat eggs because for 40 years they have been worried about the dietary cholesterol,’’’’ the Herald Sun quoted nu-tritional biochemist McNamara as saying. “But, over the years, the research has clearly shown that cholesterol in our food doesn’t impact our risk for heart disease - (what causes) that is saturated fat and trans fat,’’’ he added. Eggs are low in saturated fat and consist of some of the vital compounds like choline that are considered good for metabolism and for foetal brain develop-ment during pregnancy It also contains lutein, which is known to lower the risk for cata-racts and macular degeneration. McNamara said those who eat eggs for break-fast feel fuller for longer and reduce the risk of overeating at lunch. “Eggs have the highest quality protein you can

buy in the supermarket for the lowest cost, and they con-tain every vitamin and mineral we need except for vita-min C,’’ he said. “So they easily fit into a healthy diet for people with normal cholesterol levels, people with high cholesterol levels, diabetics and people with metabolic syndrome,’’ he added. The Heart Foundation had con-ducted a survey earlier this year and reissued its guideline to recommend people eat up to six eggs a week. “Cholesterol in food doesn’t equal cholesterol in the blood,’’’’ said the foundation’s healthy weight spokes-woman Monique Blunden. “It’s the saturated fat and trans fat we consume that is directly related to the rise in cholesterol in the blood,’’ she added.

Family TraditionTeacher: “Sam, you talk a lot !”Johnny: “It’s a family tradition”.Teacher: “What do you mean?”Johnny: “Sir, my grandpa was a street hawker, my father is a teacher”.Teacher: “What about your mother?”Johnny: “She’s a woman...”

Natural ChildbirthA boy was assigned a paper on childbirth and asked his mother, “How was I born?”“Well honey...” said the slightly prudish mother, “the stork brought you to us.”“Oh,” said the boy, “and how did you and daddy get born?”“Oh, the stork brought us too.” “Well how were grandpa and grandma born?” the boy per-sisted.“Well darling, the stork brought them too!” said the mother, by now starting to squirm a little.Several days later, the boy handed in his paper to the teacher who read with confusion the opening sentence:“This report has been very difficult to write due to the fact that there hasn’t been a natural childbirth in my family for three generations.”

Sneha’s bikini act soon?

The soft spoken actress, who’s famous for her girl-next-door im-age in movies like Anandham, Parthi-ban Kanavu and Pi-rivom Sandhippom, turned glamorous last year with Pandi, starring Lawrence. She wore reveal-ing clothes and also shook her hips to a sensuous number in the film. Then, she turned to action with Bhavani IPS, which is still under production. And now, the lat-est buzz doing the rounds is that, after Nayanthara, Shriya,

Anushka and Priyamani, Sneha too will join the bi- kini brigade! Sneha, in a recent in-terview, made some observations about the bikini act. She said that she wasn’t reluctant to don a bikini if the script demanded it, and if it would work out com-mercially for the film. Meanwhile, the actress has been on a crash diet and has become pen-cil-thin. This has lent credence to rumours making the rounds that Sneha has done a two- piece bikini act for Venkat Prabhu’s Goa, which is being shot in Langkawi beach in Malaysia.

MOVIE TALK

Movie Preview : love Aaj Kal

love Aajlondon, San Francisco, Delhi - 2009.Jai and Meera is a modern-day couple in London. They are very happy to-gether but do not believe in tying each other down. So when life pulls them in dif-ferent directions, they decide to go with the flow.“These Heer-Ranjha, Romeo-Juliet type janam janam ka saath type couples ex-ist only in story books,” Jai says. In the real life, we have to be practical.love KalDelhi, Calcutta - 1965.Veer Singh is struck by a thunderbolt when he sees Harleen for the first time. Soon after, he stands under a tree and swears that “is janam mein aur har janam

mein... yehi meri votti ba-negi - Harleen Kaur.”He travels a thousand kilo-meters by train to stand un-der her balcony only to have

a glimpse of her face. And yet not speak a word with her.love Aaj KalVeer does not understand how Jai can treat matters of the heart without passion, like a financial transaction.

Jai does not understand how Veer Singh could have been so naïve and silly about Harleen in the days of his youth.

But as both stories unfold, we realize that the process of relation-ship might be different in different eras, but the experience of being in love remains the same.So there is the frolic and de-spair of mod-ern living, the liberation and c o n f u s i o n .

And there is the past - the times of in-nocence and compulsion. And there is distance, and the fondness that increases with distance. Gaps widen between two people, but bridges keep growing too.
