WHAT DO SEA STARS EAT?

Sea stars eat clams and mussels. They eat by opening up their stomachs and turning them inside out. Sea stars do have teeth! You might have been thinking that a sea star does not have teeth but it does!

WHERE DO SEA STARS LIVE? Sea stars live on the bottom of all oceans. They sometimes get washed up by the sea so you might sea them laying on the sand. Some sea stars live in tide pools too!

THEIR SPECIES There are different kinds of sea stars. There are Brittle sea stars, Marble sea stars, Linckia sea stars, Red sea stars, serpent sea stars and sand sifting sea stars too!

HOW DOES A SEA STAR PROTECT

ITSELF? Sea stars have many predators.

Some get eaten, but some don’t. A sea star protects itself by using the sharp spines on its back to attack its predators.

PREDATORS OF A SEA STAR The predators of a sea star are

sharks, squid , octopuses , birds , otters and even humans!
