• Created by Indiana General Assembly in 1963 as “Indiana Vocational Technical College”
• Acronym IVTC, or IV Technical College, thus the nickname “Ivy Tech”
• Accredited in 1991 as a single college • Became Ivy Tech State College in 1995 • Became Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana in 2005 • End-of-term Fall 2014: Headcount 103,864, FTE 53,145
CBE Efforts to Date • January 2013: Workshop at WGU in Salt Lake City • Attended by Fort Wayne and Lafayette
• Summer/Fall/Spring 2013-2014: CBE courses offered • Towards Web Management Certificate • Courses offered from Fort Wayne and Lafayette
• April 2014: Workshop at Gates Foundation in Seattle • Fall 2015: Office Administration Certificate • Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate: CBE only

• Spring 2015 : Breakthrough Models Incubator Grant • Develop Statewide program in Information Technology • Most Likely: Technical Certificate in Software Development • 10 courses, 32 credit hours
• Ready for public offering Fall 2017
