EHR Incentive Pay

National Level Repository
• CMS proposed a national-level repository in order to accomplish three statutory goals:– Ensure that there is no duplication of
payments between Medicare and Medicaid and between states;
– Ensure accurate and timely payments; and – Allow Medicare to meet its mandate for
online posting requirements.

The Medicaid EHR Incentive Timeline
• 2011- 2021• Providers cannot initiate after 2016• Incentive amounts are linked to
providers’ participation year, not the calendar year
• No fee schedule reductions like Medicare
• AIU in first participation year, MU in 2nd and subsequent years
