No activities on weekends, State recognized holidays or from 8:00pm to 6:00am. In Unit 3, as indicated on the Timber Sale and Logging Plan maps, no cutting, yarding, tailholding or any other harvest related activities shall occur within the "No Activity Eagle Buffer". Within the "Eagle Timing Restriction" area, activities such as cutting, yarding, tailholding or any other harvest related activities shall not be allowed from January 1st through August 15th.

ACREAGE DETERMINATIONCRUISE METHOD: Sale acreage was 100% GPS'd. Sale units were cruised using a variable plot sample.

FEES: $146,676.00 is due on day of sale. $9.00 per MBF is due upon removal. These are in addition to the bid price.

Driving Directions

Unit 4: From the junction of Hwy 101 and Hwy 112 drive 3.4 miles west on Hwy 112. Turn left onto Eden Valley Rd. Drive south of Eden Valley Rd. for 3.7 miles and turn right onto the PA-J-4000. Continue on the PA-J-4000 for 0.8 miles. Park at the junction of the PA-J-4050 and walk 0.1 miles north to unit 4.

Units 3, 6 and 7: From unit 4 continue for 0.5 miles north on the PA-J-4050 to get to units 3, 6, and 7.

Burgh Pit and Ellie Pit: From the junction of the PA-J-4000 and PA-J-4050. Continue west on the PA-J-4000 for 1.2 miles and turn left onto the PA-J-4030. Continue on the PA-J-4030 for 0.7 miles to Burgh Pit. Just beyond Burgh Pit is Ellie Pit.

Unit 1: From the junction of Hwy 112 and Eden Valley Rd. Go 13.1 miles west on Hwy 112. Turn left onto the PA-S-1000 and drive for 3.1 miles. Turn right onto the PA-S-1300 and drive for 0.4 miles to unit 1.

Units 2 and 5: From the beginning of Unit 1, continue east on the PA-S-1300 for approximately 1.0 miles and park. From there walk 0.2 miles to unit 5. From unit 5 continue east 0.1 miles to unit 2.

Use the following rates for estimating taxable stumpage:

Harvest Cost = $0.00 per MBF for sorts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and $0.00 per Ton for

Hauling Services Payment Rate per Ton

= (Base Rate + Mileage Rate) x (Contractor's hauling bid factor)

Base Rate = $2.35 per ton

Mileage Rate = (($0.16 x C miles) + ($0.11 x A miles)) x Fuel Index Factor

Long-haul surcharge: An additional haul payment of $25/mbf net scale for mbf scale

sorts or $4.60/ton for tonnage sorts will be added for delivery destinations in excess of

250 total one-way miles (A miles plus C miles).

CONFIRMATION: Each sort is subject to confirmation following auction. Sorts will not be confirmed until

at least 10 days after auction. Final contract award is contingent upon the State’s haul

cost analysis. Actual haul route may vary and is subject to change at the State’s

discretion.

SPECIAL REMARKS: The successful Purchaser(s) will be required to purchase logs from the sale area upon

delivery to their location specified in the bid submitted. Logs will be delivered to the

Purchaser’s delivery location by the State’s contract harvester. Purchaser is responsible

for weighing and scaling costs. All tonnage loads will be weighed and all mbf loads will

be scaled at State approved locations. The State reserves the right to determine where

logs are authorized to be scaled and weighed.

Driving Directions

Fitzgerald Pit: Turn south onto Taylor Cutoff Road and drive for 2.6 miles before turning left onto Fish Hatchery Road. Continue for 0.1 miles and turn right onto Sturdevant Road. Continue for 0.7 miles and turn left onto the PA-L-3510. Continue for 0.5 miles to the Pit.

Unit 2: From the junction of Taylor Cutoff Road and Lost Mountain Road, drive west on Lost Mountain Road. Continue for 4.5 miles and turn left onto the PA-L-4000. Continue for 0.2 miles to Unit 2.

Unit 14: From Unit 2 continue south on the PA-L-4000 for 0.2 miles.

Unit 3 and 4: From Unit 14 continue on the PA-L-4000 for 0.02 miles. Turn left onto the PA-L-4100 and drive for 0.7 miles and park. From this point you will walk east to get to Unit 3 and south to get to Unit 4.

Unit 5: From the junction of the PA-L-4000 TIE and PA-L-4100 continue for 0.4 miles on the PA-L-4000. Turn left onto the PA-L-4200. Continue on the PA-L-4200 for 0.6 miles where you will park at the PA-L-4200/PA-L-4235 junction. From this point you will walk east to get to Unit 5.

Units 6, 7, 8, and 9: From the PA-L-4200/PA-L-4235 junction, continue on the PA-L-4000 for 0.05 miles and park. From this point you will walk west to get to the Units.

Units 10, 11, and 12: From the junction of the PA-L-4000 and PA-L-4200 continue west on the PA-L-4000 for 0.2 miles. At this point, walk south to get to Units 10, 11, and 12.

Unit 13: From Units 10, 11, and 12 continue west on the PA-L-4000 for 0.1 miles. Unit is on the south side of the road.

HARVEST METHOD: Cable, and Shovel. Cable and Ground based equipment. Harvesting activities are

ROADS: 45.00 stations of required reconstruction. 78.80 stations of optional construction. 431.93

stations of required prehaul maintenance. Rock used in accordance with the quantities on

the ROCK LIST may be obtained from any commercial source at the Purchaser's expense

subject to written approval from Contract Administrator. All road work will not be

permitted from October 1 to April 30 unless authorized in writing by the Contract

Administrator. Approximately 2500 yards of endhaul to remove a slide on the V-0850

and approximately 2500 yards of endhaul to widen portions of the T-Line. See Road Plan

HARVEST METHOD: Harvest activities are estimated to be 75 percent ground based harvest and 25 percent

cable. Cable and ground based equipment, with cable-tethered equipment limited to

sustained slopes 75 percent or less, self-leveling equipment limited to sustained slopes 65

percent or less, and all other ground based equipment limited to sustained slopes 45

percent or less. Yarding may be restricted during wet weather if rutting becomes

excessive, per clause H-017.

Timber haul will not be permitted from November 1 to May 15, unless authority to do so

is granted, in writing, by the Contract Administrator. If permission is granted to operate

from November 1 to May 15, preventative measures may be required to protect water,

soils, roads and other forest assets.

Purchaser maintenance on the 57, 59, 59-4, 59-4 ext, 59-4-1, 59-5, 59-5-1, 59-5-11, and

Rock for this proposal may be obtained from the State owned Olive Pit, including from

the 1 1/2 inch minus crushed stockpile, at no cost to the Purchaser or a possible onsite

rock source, if quality is approved by the Contract Administrator, located within Section

Operation of road construction equipment and rock haul will not be permitted from

November 1 to May 15, nor on weekends or State recognized holidays, unless authority

to do so is granted, in writing, by the Contract Administrator. If permission is granted to

operate from November 1 to May 15, the Purchaser shall comply with a maintenance

plan per Road Plan clause 1-26.

ACREAGE DETERMINATION

CRUISE METHOD: Unit acreage was determined by traversing boundaries by GPS. Right of way acreage was

determined by multiplying length times width. GPS data files are available at DNR's

website for timber sale packets. See cruise narrative for cruise method.

FEES: $90,593.00 is due on day of sale. $9.00 per MBF is due upon removal. These are in

addition to the bid price.

SPECIAL REMARKS: This area is typically inaccessible due to snow from November through May. Contact

Riparian Forest Restoration Strategy is implemented within Units #1, and #3. There are

71 trees designated for down woody debris recruitment and 47 trees for snag recruitment

that are to be marked by the Purchaser.

Cut all vine maple within Unit #2, leaving a stump no more than 12 inches in height.

For the safety of the public, please remove all string from string boxes from roads and

equipment is limited to tracked equipment, with non-tethered self-leveling equipment

limited to sustained slopes of 55 percent or less, all other tracked equipment limited to

sustained slopes that are 45 percent or less. Rubber tired skidders not allowed, except 6-

wheeled rubber tired skidders with over-the-tire tracks spanning both sets of rear tires are

allowed in all units on sustained slopes that are 45 percent or less. Yarding may be

restricted during wet weather if rutting becomes excessive, per clause H-017.

Falling and yarding in Units #1 and #3 will not be permitted on weekends or State

recognized holidays unless authority to do so is granted, in writing, by the Contract

Administrator.

ROADS: 32.08 stations of optional construction. 26.19 stations of optional reconstruction. 478.20

stations of required prehaul maintenance. 15.52 stations of abandonment, if constructed.

turnaround construction. Purchaser maintenance on the B-0730, B-0740, B-0741, B-

Rock for this proposal may be obtained from the State owned Porter Pass Quarry, and up

to 500cy of 2 1/2 inch crushed from the existing stockpile at Porter Pass Quarry (which

must be replaced if used), at no cost to the Purchaser or any commercial rock source at

the Purchaser's expense.

Purchaser is required to provide a stockpile of 1,800 cy of 2-1/2 inch minus in the Porter

Pass Quarry per Road Plan 6-65.

All road work activities will not be permitted from November 1 to April 30, nor on

weekends or State recognized holidays, unless authority to do so is granted, in writing, by

the Contract Administrator. If permission is granted to operate from November 1 to April

30, a maintenance plan is required per Road Plan clause 1-26.

The hauling of forest products will not be permitted from November 1 to April 30, nor on

weekends or State recognized holidays, unless authorized in writing by the Contract

Administrator. If permission is granted to operate from November 1 to April 30,

preventative measures may be required to protect water, soil, roads and other forest

assets.

ACREAGE DETERMINATION

CRUISE METHOD: Unit acreage was determined by traversing boundaries by GPS in all units, and length

times width was used to determine railroad grade in Unit #1 and existing road acres in

Unit #3. GPS data files are available at DNR's website for timber sale auction packets.

See cruise narrative for cruise method.

FEES: $148,036.00 is due on day of sale. $9.00 per MBF is due upon removal. These are in

addition to the bid price.

Purchaser shall cut all hardwood stems 2 inches DBH or greater, or 6 feet tall or greater,

within the harvest units, leaving a stump no more than 12 inches in height.

Unit #3: Any timber harvest within two tree lengths of the BPA power line right-of-way

will require at least one week advanced notice to the local BPA Operation and

Maintenance District. The contact person is Lee Webb, 360-791-3838.

The North Rim #1 trail located in Unit #1 will need to be restored to its pre-harvest

condition following harvest per Schedule A-Recreation Trail Clean Out and Repair.

The B-Line, within harvest units, is to be left open at the end of each day. Blocking for

short periods will be allowed during operational periods.

Bridge maintenance consisting of bridge deck repair on the B-Line at station 625+60 per

Road Plan sections 7 and 11.

There are blue painted trees in Unit #1. Blue painted trees are take trees, unless located

within tagged leave tree area clumps.

For the safety of the public, please remove from roads and trails all string from string

boxes used during appraising or cruising this sale.
