CHANGED, OR CLARIFIED:

approved by CMS for an additional 5 years. Both waivers added a new provider type under the service of Client Training, a board certified music therapist.

MAC and TSOA programs will also offer this new provider type under the service category of Training and Education.

Case managers have the option to authorize a board-certified music therapist for Client Training services (COPES, Residential Support Waiver, and Roads to Community Living) and Training & Education services (MAC and TSOA) when the provider has an active Client Training contract.

The contract, 1045XP Community Transition and Training, has been updated to include a board-certified music therapist as a qualified provider type.

A rate range of $27-31.00 has been established for this provider type. This rate range includes the following:

An additional 45 minutes outside of the active session to document assessment/session results towards the therapeutic goal, and

Commute time, car maintenance, and gas costs

ACTION: Contract staff may begin contracting with board-certified music therapists effective immediately, negotiating a rate within the approved range of $27-31.00 per 15 minutes. Social services staff should become familiar with this provider type as a new option for clients under Client Training or Training & Education services. To authorize this service, use ProviderOne service code H2014, UD (Client Training, non-medical).
