Stay the same throughout story.The character doesn’t develop.Usually not as complex.
Examples
Sir Thomas More would be considered a static character.
Throughout A Man For All Seasons he never changes.
Never changes his opinions or lifestyle.Not necessarily a bad thing.
More Examples
Macbeth would be a dynamic character.When he murders the king his life
changes.Becomes darker and crazier.
Static vs. Dynamic
The character type only relies on the motives/personality.
Being a protagonist/antagonist has no effect on static or dynamic.
It’s simply who the character is.
