What is the average foot length in your class?
• Working in groups of 4-8

Mean of MeansJack competed in long jump at the school sports.
On the first round his jumps were 4.49, 4.55, 4.48, and 4.56, with a mean of 4.52
On the second round his jumps were 4.59, 4.60, 4.62, 4.59 and 4.61 with a mean of 4.61.
He claims he can find the mean of all his jumps by taking the mean of his means.
Is he right?

You have to decide which queue to join.
Throw 2 die and add their values.
If you have a counter in the queue of that value you can move it across the line.
If your partner has a counter in the queue of that value they can move it across their line.

Tania and Derek are playing a game with one die.They throw the die. If the number on the die is odd, Tania wins that round. If the number on the die is a six, Derek wins.(It doesn't matter who throws the die.)Who is more likely to win the game? Why?How could you make the game fair?

ball. The balls are identical in all ways except colour. Shake the container, and look at how the balls settle.
