Michel’s Solution

A glyoxyl based, formalin-free fixative that is excellent for conventional histology,

special stains and immunohistochemistry.

Michel’s Solution is used to preserve and transport specimens for examination in

immunofluorescence studies. While not a fixative, specimens can be held at room

temperature for five days in transport medium before processing. This simple salt

solution maintains pH, but does not kill many pathogens. Specimens received

in transport medium should be washed in three changes of washing solution, 10

minutes each wash. Not suitable for FISH studies.

Fan Pad-GL™ Formalin Neutralizing PadsSpecially treated pad which absorbs formaldehyde. After absorption, formaldehyde is

converted to a non-hazardous polymer eliminating harmful vapors. Fan Pad minis are

also especially useful in the clean up of small formalin spills.

Iron Stain Kit

The Iron Stain Kit is intended for use in the detection of ferric iron in tissues, blood smears, or bone marrow smears. Ferric iron is normally found in small amounts in bone marrow and the spleen. Abnormally large deposits may be seen in hemochromatosis and hemosiderosis.
