Tom has enjoyed coming to the last 3 reunions and it was great to see him at the Main Event

at our 50th. He is splitting his time between homes on Staten Island and in Delaware where his

daughter is living. Tom stays active in the Veterans organizations on the Island.

Rich and Liz have put their two daughters through Penn State and are now enjoying retirement

in PA. They participated in the 2007 reunion and Rich was at the 2011 VVA plaque ceremony

at MFHS to honor Don Tinney. Rich and Liz were able to take in the Main Event at our 50th

and it was great to have one of the founding members of the Farrell Pudmen on hand.

Randy Beres passed away December 8, 2007 in Ridgecrest, CA.

Randy was a career Navy officer and held a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was

survived by his wife, Lois, two daughters and 4 grandchildren.

Tom fully participated in all recent reunions, was helpful with committee work, and Tom and

Sandy were at all the 50th reunion venues.

From Tom: “Sandy and I have been married 40+ years and have moved to different cities 9

times (obviously a business guy who cannot keep a job) ... Those cities include Philadelphia,

Chicago, Palm Beach, NYC, Buffalo, NYC, Cincinnati, Longmeadow MA and back to Chicago.

We have 3 kids living in Los Angeles, Manhattan and Vermont ... Now retired in Asheville NC

From Rich: “My positive experience with Mr. Marino (English teacher) caused me to go to

SUNY Cortland to train as an English teacher. That continued with an M.A. in English from the

University of Hawaii. Taught English in Saranac Lake for a short time while getting certified as

an administrator at SUNY Plattsburgh. Became a principal at age 25 in school district near

Rochester. Completed doctorate at University of Rochester and moved up to assistant

superintendent for business, then superintendent. Taught aspiring administrators as part-time

adjunct professor at four upstate colleges. Moved back downstate to Southampton (LI), NY

where I am proud to be Superintendent of Schools.

Married with 2 children ages 23 and 27. Life has been good. Very appreciative for that.”

social studies, and language, but terrible in math & science. Scared to death of Brother Sable.

Loved debate team; made lots of friends in that club. Got suspended once for walking on

Rich and Kim participated in the Sept. 2012 reunion , retired in 2013 and is splitting time

between Fairport NY and Florida. Rich let us know he cannot make the 50th.

Al has let us know that he cannot attend the reunions. He is doing fine having retired from NY

State to Central Florida in 2005. He enjoys volunteering at the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge

near his home.

Rich has had a hand in leading all our reunions and was in attendance at all past reunions and

the 2011 VVA plaque ceremony at MFHS honoring Don Tinney. He was once again the

Treasurer for our 50th reunion and he did a great job. Rich plays golf regularly at South Shore

GC and was the big money winner at our 50th reunion golf outing.

Rich and Mary are long time residents of SI and are enjoying retirement together.

Danny Brew passed away on February 23, 2015 in NYC while residing in Longs, SC.

Dan attended and helped organize every reunion our class ever had.

In 2016, the charitable fund raising golf tournament that Dan founded was renamed in his

honor. Two foursomes representing MFHS ’67 played in the tournament on July 30, 2016.

Danny’s widow, Mandy, honored us with her presence at our 50th reunion Main Event.

Robert M. BuebendorfPassed Away August 15, 2011

Bob Buebendorf passed away on August 15, 2011 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Bob served our country in the Air Force during Vietnam. He held a degree in Electrical

Engineering from Manhattan College. For some period, he worked and lived in Monroe, NY

before retiring and then relocating to Port St. Lucie in 2002.

From Larry: "Retired in December '07, after 36 years with the IRS in New Jersey. Married 40

years with two "kids". Keeping busy with the "honey-do" list; the bride is still working part-time.

Farrell: I feel that the education was second to none on S.I. Did very well in math & sciences,

but ended up a history major at Manhattan (go figure), and am still a history buff. But what I'm

most appreciative of is the bunch of life-long friends that I made at Farrell. To this day, with

but a few days' notice, we can get 10-15 guys together, just by making a few phone calls. I've

made all the reunions to date, and plan to be there for the 50th, both Friday & Saturday. I

Tom Ciani passed away on May 10, 2011 at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Tom (“Bone”) was a resident of West Keansburg, NJ at the time and had been a Professor of

History at Monmouth University before retiring. Tom was survived by his wife, Susan, and a

son. Classmate Kennedy O’Brien remained best friends until Tom’s passing.

Bill has let us know that he retired in 2011 and recently relocated to Somerset, NJ. Like many

of us he is able to spend more time with his family and grandchildren in retirement. He has not

been able to participate in our reunions but sends his regards to all his former class mates.

50th.

From Gill: Living in California since 1980, married to Dorie (Morris) Cornell with 2 children,

both degreed engineers working out West as well. After working private industry for ~11 years

I have supported the warfighter for the last 32 years. Have finally retired and built a cabin in

the Sierras above Ridgecrest that we really enjoy. Talk real time on that at reunion. You can

Jack and Vickie fully participated in the 2007 reunion and he played golf in the 2016 Danny

Bruscella Memorial Golf Tournament with MFHS ’67 buddies. Jack and Vickie were fully

committed to celebrating Jack’s birthday at our 50th Main Event when he was diagnosed with

pancreatic cancer and died within a month of that diagnosis.

Jack’s brother Tim (above right), on the MFHS teaching staff for many years, joined in at

Friday night mixer at our 50th reunion.

From Ed: I’m the CFO of a several commercial real estate companies in NYC since 1982. Our

office is located in midtown Manhattan at 5 Penn Plaza. Previously, I started in public

accounting and worked for several banks. My wife Angela and I are married more than 40

years. We still live on SI in Randall Manor. We have no children and like to travel, read,

Brian Dente passed away on February 6, 1965.

Brian’s mother and sister attended the Memorial Mass in the MFHS Chapel that was part of

the 2007 reunion. While Brian passed away before he could graduate, we will always consider

him a member of our class.

T.J. has enjoyed a 30 year career in the US Foreign Service. He was the Senior Advisor to

the U.S. Diplomacy Center, working with curators to create the Diplomacy Museum at the

Department of State. Prior to working in the Foreign Service, Tom worked as a teacher (HS

and adult ed) and a director of a Head Start program in Michigan after graduating from

Columbia. He served in the Navy in the middle of his Columbia years. TJ entered into foreign

service and has had seven tours overseas as a Public Diplomacy officer. TJ’s first and last

overseas tours were in Sao Paulo and in between he served in Zambia, Kenya (twice), Athens,

and London. He has not made recent contact.

Bill Dwyer passed away on October 6, 2009 in Manchester, NH.

Bill served our country in the US Army during Vietnam and again as a member of the Army

Reserve. He attended Staten Island Community College and New Hampshire College and

had a long career working for General Cable in Manchester. He was survived by his wife

Regina, four sons and a daughter, and seven grandchildren.
