God anoints His people for specic

purposes and dierent ministries.(1 Corinthians 12:14-25) I have seen

ministries and some laymen becomefrustrated in life because they leavetheir anoinng and try to be likesomeone who was called to andanointed for dierent purpose.

If you don’t wait on the anoinng

to give you direcon in life, you willbe frustrated and misdirected by yourown desires.

Paul put it this way: “For I say,

through the grace given unto me, to

every man that is among you, not to

think of himself more highly than he

ought to think; but to think soberly,

according as God hath dealt to everyman the measure of faith. For as we

have many members in one body, and

all members have not the same oce:

So we, being many, are one body

in Christ, and every one members

one of another. Having then gis

diering according to the grace that is

given to us, whether prophesy, let us

prophesy according to the proporon

of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our

ministering: or he that teacheth , onteaching.” (Romans 12:3-7)

Paul told us not to think morehighly of ourselves then we ought tothink. For instance, I am an ordainedminister, but I mostly operate in theoce of a teacher. Over the years,I’ve stayed with what I know God has

called and anointed me to do. I alwayscauon people to be careful that theyshouldn’t allow someone to prophesyover them and get them out of theiranoinng and God’s ming.

Many years ago, a man even tried toconvince me that I was Elijah. No, I’mnot Elijah, but I am a son of God, and Iam anointed of God to teach His Word.I operate on the edge of some of theministry oces from me to me, asthe Spirit wills, but my anoinng hasbeen in the oce of a teacher formore then 30 years. God created inme a desire to teach the revelaon of His Word.

Happiness Is Doing

God’s Will

If you’re willing to do what God calls

you to do, God will not only create inyou the desire to do His Will, but Hewill also furnish the anoinng to getthe job done.

God told Israel. “If ye be willing and

obedient, ye shall eat the good of the

land…” (Isaiah 1:19)

There are some who are willing, buthave never been obedient, and thereare others who are obedient, but theyhave never been willing. They dragtheir feet all of the way. Both of theseindividuals will be miserable in life andwill never enter into full blessings of the promised land of God’s perfectwill.

If you are willing and obedient, youwill have condence that God’s callingwill supply the anoinng that willguide you into His perfect will.

In Psalm 37:4, David said “Delight

thyself also in the Lord; and He shall

give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Now, you could take that two ways, but I’m convinced that this verse issaying: If you‘ll delight yourself in theLord, His Word will create the desiresin your heart that are of God. In otherwords, your desires will be directed bythe Holy Spirit rather than by your owneshly desires.

Paul said,”…let us wait on our

ministering…” (Romans 12:7)

I believe there are some who havebilled themselves as apostles andprophets prematurely. This may havebeen what Paul had in mind when hesaid that people should not think more

highly of themselves than they oughtto think.

If that kind of calling and anoinngis upon a minister, others will be awareof it. They won’t have to adverse it.

Then, on the other hand, if they arenot called and anointed for what theyare trying to do, that is very obviousalso.

John gives us some insight on thismaer, “Lile children, it is the last

me: and as you have heard that

anchrist shall come, even now are

there many anchrists: whereby we

know that it is the last me. But ye

have an uncon from the Holy One,

and ye know all things. I have not

wrien unto you because ye knownot the truth, but because ye know it,

and that no lie is of the truth” (1 John

2:18, 20-21)

John states that you have an unconof the Holy One, and you have theability in you to know your calling. Godwants you to think highly of yourself.

But don’t be deceived into thinkingmore highly of yourself then you oughtto think; but think soberly. In otherwords, use some spiritual commonsense and think in line with your callingand anoinng.

“These things have I wrien unto

you concerning them that seduce

you. But the anoinng which ye havereceived of him abideth in you, and

ye need not that any man teach you:

but as the same anoinng teacheth

you of all things, and is truth, and is

no lie, and even as it hath taught you,

ye shall abide in him” (1 John 2:26-27)

The anoinng within you will teach

you about your calling in life. You don’thave to have someone prophesy overyou to know what to do. However, somemes God will use a prophecword to conrm the calling that He hasalready revealed to you.

But personal prophecies are not toguide or direct your life. I think mostof us know that, but it’s good to bereminded of these things. There aresome who have said: “Thus saith theLord,” when the Lord didn’t say it.

Learn to draw from the anoinngthat abides in you, and you won’t bedeceived. When someone speaks aword over you about something Godhasn’t talked to you about, and itdoesn’t bear witness with your spirit,

just forget it!You have an anoinng to know on

the inside of you …in your spirit. Youmay not know it in your head, butyou will in your spirit. Draw from thatanoinng by confessing daily that youhave the wisdom of God unl youknow beyond any doubt what is of

God and what is of man.James said, “If any of you lack

wisdom, let him ask…” (James1:5) Jesus said, “…ask and ye shall

receive…” (John 16:24) John said, “…

the same anoinng teacheth you of

all things…” (1 John 2:27) So drawfrom that anoinng. Start confessing

that you have an anoinng to know, and trust in that anoinng to give youinsight.

When it is me to make decisions, even if you don’t have any greatrevelaon concerning the maer, juststop and ask yourself, “What is it thatI really feel deep down in my spirit?”

If you are sold out to God and arewilling to trust the anoinng, manymes the desire you have in yourheart is the wisdom of God. It willwork for ministers and laymen alike.A God-called business person has

an anoinng to know what to do inbusiness.

Not everyone is called to be a pastor, teacher, or a public minister. There are

some who are called to be businesspeople. They have an anoinng. If they’ll trust in that anoinng anddevelop a sensivity to it, then theywill be successful and fulll theircalling in life!

Over the years, I’ve had as manymanifestaons of the Spirit in everyday

business aairs as I have had inspiritual things. (1 Corinthians 12:7-8)

We miss it when we thinkmanifestaons of the Spirit andanoinngs are only availableconcerning spiritual maers of ministry. You are anointed to knowGod’s direcon in your life. Learn todraw from that anoinng.

Stay with what God has anointedyou to do. Stay with your calling inlife. A young pastor once told me thathe wanted me to pray that he wouldhave the boldness of another minister.I said to him, “You beer stay with the

anoinng and temperament that Godgave you. If you get the other minister’sboldness with your anoinng, it maydo more harm than good.”

Be Yourself

Don’t get caught in the trap of tryingto be someone else. This one thingcauses much frustraon in the Body of Christ. God knew you when he calledyou and He anointed you accordingly.

Stay with and trust that anoinng togive direcon in your life.

Don’t give up when things go wrongand situaons seem to get out of

hand. Pray in the Spirit as Paul saidin Romans 8:26-27. God wants you todraw from His wisdom. (1 Corinthians2:4-6)

You can learn to draw from God’swisdom by confessing the Word daily. Then allow the Holy Spirit to guide anddirect you, even in small things. That

is how you develop a sensivity toyour anoinng so that it will give youdirecon in life.

“A man’s heart deviseth his way:

but the LORD directeth his steps.”

(Proverbs 16:9)

The apostle Paul gives us a ng

conclusion to this subject, “Now wehave received, not the spirit of theworld, but the spirit which is of God;that we might know the things thatare freely given to us of God…he thatis spiritual judgeth all things, yet hehimself is judged of no man. For whohath known the mind of the Lord, that

he may instruct him? But we have themind of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 2:12,15-16)

Make a decision to be willingand obedient to God’s calling andexperience the good of the land unl

Jesus comes. n

Seng Your Course  for Fulllment

I have always thought of goal set-ng as a discipline that made youwork for that you wanted. Unl Iaended a seminar on goal senga few years ago, I never set goals. It was too much trouble! Besidesthat, it made me feel guilty andpressured!

As I parcipated in this seminar,I did list the things that I wanted tosee happen in the next year andeven 5 years down the road. I didnot work consciously towards thegoals, but I had wrien them down2 or 3 mes. Imagine my amaze-

ment when I looked at my list 6months later and had several of those goals!

What I began to realize was thatI had planted a seed and it grew tofruion!

“So is the kingdom of God, as

if a man should cast seed into the

ground; and should sleep, and risenight and day, and the seed should

spring and grow up, he knowethnot how.” Mark 4:26-27

The seed sprung up and I didn’tknow how it happened! My spiritreceived the desire that I set to

achieve and sought the means of fulllment. The goals that I wrotedown set the course.

My previous experience withseng goals felt like work….write itdown and work like crazy to make it

happen. Not only that, but make ithappen in a certain period of me!Imagine if we planted a garden thatway! Plant the seed and stay with

it constantly, watering, checking, digging it up to see how it is doingevery day. More oen than not, this is how we think life works. Everseen the slogan, “Life is hard”? If you believe that, it will be.

Jesus had a dierent idea and

taught the principle of planngseeds. He used the analogy of aperson who plants the seed andbasically forgets about it or at leastgoes about business and doesn’tworry about it. The seed has thepower to spring forth aer beingplanted in the warmth of the soil.

It doesn’t maer if the seed plant-er knows how this all works or not.Likewise, when you write down adesire you have, you do not need toknow how it will happen. Just likethe seed, the desire when plant-ed on paper or spoken with your

mouth into your heart, will grow upand manifest in your life.

Dene Your DesiresWhen I say “dene your desires”,

you probably automacally go to a“want” list of objects or posions,or relaonships. I would like to of -fer another opon. Redene yourwant list into principle ideas. Rath-

er than “I want $XXXX.XX incomeper month”, “I want to be healed of

 __”, “I want a job at ___”, “I want

support from friends and family”,which I call a want  list, turn into adesire list:

1. To walk in nancial abun-

dance, having more thanenough

2. To live in divine health

3. To be in a vocaon than is ful-lling

4. To feel supported emoonally

What is the dierence? If you“want” something, you live in“want”. Also, the “want” list isvery liming. If you want $xxxx.xxdollars per month, you are limit-ing. Wanng to be healed is a goalbased on sickness. In order to “be

healed” you have to be sick rst. If you want support from friends andfamily, you are indicang that is theonly source of support. How manymes have you limited the waysGod could answer your prayer?

Walking in nancial abundance,

living in divine health, being in afullling vocaon, and feeling emo-

onally supported opens the doorfor unlimited blessing.

What are your desires? I encour-age you to write them down, rede-

ne them, and then commit them

to God.“Roll your works upon the Lord

[commit and trust them wholly to

Him; He will cause your thoughts

to become agreeable to His will,

and] so shall your plans be estab-

lished and succeed.” Proverbs 16:3

 Amplied Version

Watch in amazement, as I did, athow God brings them to pass.

Tapping Your Hidden

Resources“Delight thyself also in the Lord;

and he shall give thee the desires

of thine heart” Psalm 37:4The word ‘delight’ in the scrip-

ture is oen associated with wor-ship or praise; however, the He-

brew word has a much dierentmeaning.

The Hebrew word here is anag,

which means ‘pliable or delicate’.We could actually translate thisinto modern usage with the word‘exible’.

To be “exible” or “pliable”opens you up to innite quantumpossibilies. By being too specic

in just how you want things to be,you can eliminate God’s highestand best for your life.

For instance: What if you lostyour job at Company A and unableto nd other employment, you be-

gan to email friends about your sta-

tus. Amazingly, there is a job open-ing at a Company B where your bestfriend works! You always wanted towork there but didn’t feel you werequalied. Sounds like God, doesn’tit? So you begin to confess that

the job is yours. You pray that theinterview goes well and that Godmoves all obstacles so that you willbe hired. Now you are completely

focused on geng this job and nolonger pursue any other avenuesbecause by all appearance, this isthe one.

“There is a way that seems

right to a man and appears

straight before him, but at the

end of it are the ways of death.” Proverbs 16:25 Amplied Version

Once you made up your mind, you became “inexible”. Noce itwas your mind that you made up.There is a dierence between thereasoning mind and the leading

of the inward witness of the HolySpirit. Reason will lead you to what“looks” best, “sounds” best, or is“logical”. But reason cannot, andwill not fulll the desires of yourheart. Desperaon for a job oranything will trigger your reasoningmind to go aer appearances.

It is OK to pursue what you be-

lieve is right as long as you remainexible and open to change. It is agood idea to keep all avenues andopons open for God’s best in yourlife.

Follow Your HeartFollowing your heart, you may

nd that something just doesn’t“feel” right about taking this job. There is no logical explanaon why

ANNETTE CAPPS R PAGE 10

Page 11: Staying With the Anointing

you should not, but your heart istelling you something.

I personally observed someonego through a very similar situaon. Two companies were pursuing thisindividual and one company of -fered a higher salary, more presge, and a bigger oce! It looked goodand appealed to the ego. It wasn’treasonable to take the other oer,but the rst one just did not feel

right. Within a short me of em-ployment at the second company, raises and other benets matchedthe rst companies oer and withall the growth, there was a new of -ce. The rst company began lay-

ing o employees.

God puts desires into your heart. This is what you follow, your heartnot your head. This is the inwardwitness of the Holy Spirit gentlyguiding you.

Your IntentOnce you have made a “want”

list, redened it into principles, askyourself, “As I walk and live in theseprinciples, where do I see myself in 1 year, then 5 years. Jot it downquickly without analyzing it. Do itagain a week or two later withoutlooking at the old list. Include per-

sonal goals, spiritual goals, nan-cial goals, relaonship goals, andhealth and tness goals. By doingso, you are seng your intent.

Having a love of animals, I oncestudied a course on horse train-

ing. This theory of this trainingturned out to be more of “people

training”. It turns out there wasn’tmuch wrong with the horses, theywere only doing what the riderswere subconsciously telling themto do. One illustraon was par-cularly impressive to me becauseI experienced it many mes. Thetrainer told the riders to only look

where they wanted to go becausethe horse will go where you arelooking. Although I had experi-enced this, it sll sounded strangebut I tried an experiment. I rodequietly and without body input ormovement, I averted my eyes to

another path and the horse turned.I repeated this unl I was certainthere were no other clues.

This is what goal seng does. Bywring your intent on paper, youare turning where you look and set-

ng a place to go. Your spirit brings

it to pass and you don’t know how.“Let your eyes look right on

[with xed purpose], and let your

gaze be straight before you.” Prov -

erbs 4:25 Amplied Version

God will not only grant us ourdesires, but if we have spiritual

exibility, He will put his desires inour heart and we will be one withGod’s plan and purpose. His planalways succeeds! n
