REPLACEMENT OF PRIMARY AIR HEATERProblem before repair: With single PA fan only one mill could be taken Problem identified and rectified: Total tubular air-preheater replaced.

EFFECTS after repairs: With single PA fan-3 mills are being taken Air temperature to bowl mills increased from 65O c to 80O c

ID FAN IMPELLER MODIFICATIONProblem before modification: ID fans were getting loaded up to 75 amps only. Furnace draft was going to positive when more than 1, 00,000 BFG is taken.

Modifications carried out: 2 nos. of spare ID fan impeller outer diameter increased by 250 mm in UERS. Vane length also increased correspondingly in URES. With the one spare shafts available both the modified impellers are balanced at CMS.

Work done at site: ID fans rotor was taken out. Its cones were removed. Fitted in new shaft with modified impellers and assemble. Rotor was assembled with shaft taken out from ID-A. Cones from ID-B and modified impeller. Both the ID fans discharge expansion bellow were repaired.
