The 78-year old Steep Falls Bridge, spanning the Saco River on Route 11, will be replaced with a newand wider bridge with a sidewalk. The $2.7 million construction project begins in April and continuesthrough November, 2014. Within that timeframe, there will be a full closure of the current bridgebeginning May 12th and lasting through mid-November. Traffic will be detoured along Routes11, 25 and 113 during that time. This construction work is weather dependent, so dates may change.
The East Limington Bridge, which is on Route 25 and also spans the Saco River, will be rehabilitatednext year with a new concrete wearing surface and joint repairs. Construction activity on the EastLimington Bridge requires one-way alternating traffic for a maximum of 35 days and is expected tobegin in the spring of 2015.
