New Worship Series Begins this SundayOur festive Christmas worship has concluded, and we have entered into a new year. As we resume theroutines and rhythms of customary living, we sometimes hear the wistful request: “I wish we couldcelebrate Christmas year-round!” What better way for us to honor our Savior than to follow him daily, inworship and in practical living?

Our new worship series, “Following Jesus,” leads us along the path of our Savior’s life andministry. We will see how his disciples learned from him, that we might learn as well. Each week willoffer an experience of Jesus to help us grow as disciples--patterning our lives after the one whorevealed and obeyed God’s will for human living.

Please join us in worship each Sunday, and grow as a follower of Jesus, our Lord.

I’m In: John Knox Youth Ministry InvestorsCampaign

This past Sunday we kicked off our 2020 Youth Ministry fundraising campaign, I’m In. We have beenhumbled and honored by your kind response to our invitation but we remain hopeful that more of youwill join us in the weeks to come! Over the years, our church and the people in it have said “I’m In”when it comes to John Knox Youth Ministry for so many different reasons. We believe their stories aremore powerful than any pitch we could make, so over the coming weeks we will be sharing some ofthem with you. Check out two of those stories below and then visit the church app or website to getinvolved.

Click above to find out what Maury Purcell, a leader on our high school mission trip last summer, learned from serving with our high school students in Orlando.

Click above to hear from Matthew Littrell, a high school Junior, as he shares about what he haslearned through serving with John Knox Youth Ministry.

The bottom line is this: we have seen the Lord write beautiful stories in and through the lives ofstudents, leaders, and families of John Knox Youth Ministry over the last decade and through ourcontinued investment, we trust that He will continue to write beautiful stories in the decade to come.Help us make that next decade of stories like Maury and Matthew’s possible by saying “I’m In” foryourself. VBS Mission NewsDuring Vacation Bible School last summer, our children raised money for Marion Medical Mission, acommunity of believers who share the love of Christ while saving lives with safe, clean water. With helpfrom our generous congregation, we raised almost $700 to go toward building a new well in a villagein Africa. Through your generosity, John Knox has helped make safe drinking water a reality for thevillage of Ihegela, Tanzania. The new well was installed on September 27, 2019, serving 45 people, and will be a life-changing part of their village. Thank you so much for supporting our mission and forshowing our children that they can make a difference!

Plan to Join Us for JustFaithWe are working now toward our winter offering ofJustFaith—a group-based learning opportunity tohelp us understand and respond faithfully to ourcommunity’s issues and needs.

The theme of this eight-week series is “LivingCompassionately – Caring for the Poor.” Participants will focus on poverty, consumerism, and theGospel call to care for the poor. Our hope is that through this study God teaches us more aboutourselves and our context, opening doors for John Knox’s deeper service to our community. Our JustFaith group will meet on Sundays, 4:30-6:30 PM, beginning January 26. If you would like tosign up or learn more, please be in touch with Gordon Turnbull or our coordinator, Jean Fontaine.
