Reflection: Jesus looked lovingly on the crowd and provided for them. Through the Eucharist, God continues to offer food for the journey. At Mass, we offer our lives up and Christ nourishes us at the table of the Lord. We then are dismissed to “go and announce the Gospel,” making our lives nourishment or others. At times we may feel we are living in a deserted place and barren. But we can always come to the Eucharist to eat and be satisfied. We trust that God’s love is bountiful and we give that love to others.

My dear people,
This weekend we celebrate the beautiful
solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ. As we
celebrate this feast we are reminded of the
greatest gift that Jesus gave us, his very self in the
Eucharist. May we all grow in our love and
devotion for Jesus’ real presence in Holy
Communion, so not only we benefit from it, but
that we reflect his loving presence to others!
“O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine,
All Praise and All Thanksgiving Be Every Moment
Thine.”
As I celebrate my 25th anniversary to the
priesthood, I thank God for the many blessings he
has given me and the privilege and the honor to
serve the people of God. The old saying is true for
me, “If I had a thousand lives, I would be a priest a
thousand times.” What a joy for me to celebrate
Mass for all of you!
Fr. Dan
Hello fine folks, and happy Feast of Corpus Christi!
It's such a special weekend for us around here. First, because it's a time to consider and celebrate something that is vital to our faith - the real pres-ence of Jesus in the Eucharist! The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian faith, as is so beautifully stated in our Catechism. Think about that for a minute. The source and summit. So everything flows from it and it is the highest point... wow! I encourage you to spend a couple of minutes in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, next to the tabernacle. While you're in there, think about all that flows from Christ in the Eucharist. Reflect on how Jesus's sacrifice is the height of the Love of God. Ponder on the importance of devotion to the Mass and what steps you can take to strengthen your love for Jesus in this way.
Because of the design of this church, it's sometimes easy to walk past the tabernacle without realizing what you've just encountered. The children of the
parish have heard me talk (on and on!🙂) about pausing while walking by the tabernacle, to genu-flect, bow, or at least give a nod. I encourage all of us to model this for them, and in so doing, I can
promise your devotion to the Eucharist will grow. Just remember Jesus himself is in that space and is waiting to offer himself to us in the mystery of the Eucharist. Makes me love being a Catholic!
Ok, the next wonderful happening this weekend is Fr. Dan's Anniversary! Can you imagine the sound of the angel's singing? I am so grateful to work for a truly humble and devoted priest. What an example of Christ's love and commitment to his flock. Happy Anniversary, Fr. Dan!
Another reason to celebrate this weekend is the welcoming of our new Youth Minister, Rachel Weeks! Rachel and her husband Matt, are Norwalk residents and members of the parish. Most recent-ly, she has been a middle school science teacher at Holy Trinity in Des Moines. We are excited to bring Rachel on board, as we continue to grow our youth programs. Welcome, Rachel!
Just one more thing... this week, could you save your empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls? There is a VBS project in need of these. I will have a basket in the gathering space to collect them. Thanks in advance!
Have a blessed week, my friends! In Christ, Melissa
For Catholics, this notion of the beauty of God is the focus of the traditional Catholic practice of Eucharistic adoration. In this prayer Catholics simply spend time sitting or kneeling in total
silence, gazing at the consecrated host which is the body of Christ displayed in an ornately adorned vessel called a monstrance. This prayer is called “adoration,” since its focus is simply to adore the beauty of God’s presence made real and visible in the Blessed Sacrament. The purpose of Eucharistic Adoration is to deepen our desire to be one with God’s beauty. Prayer of adoration invites us to reflect on those qualities that make God beautiful so that we can live as a reflection of that same beauty.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Thursday evenings 4:30 to 5:30
Prayer of the Rosary Thursday evenings 5:30 to 5:55

have pledged $81,835 of our $87,950 goal. We
have collected $70,423 of the amount pledged
so far. We are very close to reaching our goal

haven’t, we ask you again to please support
