Step by step instructions for bookings at the Consulado Geral de Portugal in Johannesburg PLEASE HELP US HELP YOU! Do bear in mind the consulate does not have enough staff to help with bookings – only and exclusively pensioners can write

START HERE https://agendamentosonline.mne.pt/ (the system recommends the use of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge)

TO BE ABLE TO BOOK ON THE SITE FOR THIS CONSULATE YOU NEED TWO THINGS:

1) BE A REGISTERED USER OF THIS CONSULATE; 2) HAVE A VALID ID CARD – IF NOT ONE WILL BE GENERATED FOR YOU;

PLEASE FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS CAREFULLY – This is system is used Worldwide for ALL Portuguese Consulates

STEP 1 – Press OK

STEP 2 – Choose the “Efetuar agendamento” option

STEP 3 – There are 3 options here:

A) You have an ID card (cartão de cidadão) AND are a REGISTERED USER: insert the ID card number – NOTE if it starts with a 0 do not insert that 0

EXAMPLE: 012345678 write only 12345678. Then insert the date of birth (dd-mm-yyyy) and press Pesquisar BE AWARE THAT IF YOU HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED AS A USER OF THIS CONSULATE YOU CAN ONLY USE THIS FIRST OPTION!!! OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT SHOW THIS CONSULATE (the system will assume you are trying to register for another consulate)

B) IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN ID CARD – JUMP TO STEP 5 – OR C) ARE NOT YET REGISTERED USER OF Consulado Geral de Portugal em Joanesburgo, JUMP TO STEP 5

STEP 4 – Choose now the Consulado Geral de Portugal em Joanesburgo option. JUMP TO STEP 6 BE AWARE THAT THE OPTION FOR THIS CONSULATE ONLY SHOWS AFTER YOU HAVE REGISTERED AS A USER OF THIS CONSULATE

STEP 5 – IF you do not have an ID card OR you do but are not a registered user of the Consulado Geral de Portugal em Joanesburgo PRESS Registo online

IN THE NEW SCREEN you have two options: IF YOU have ID card BUT are not registered user choose SIM IF YOU DO NOT have an ID card choose NÃO

NOW fill in ALL the fields: Start by choosing Consulado Geral de Portugal em Joanesburgo on the first drop down menu THEN your name Email Email again Contact Phone number Date of birth (dd-mm-yyyy) Choose the last option (OUTRO) in the second drop down menu Insert your SA ID (or other, any other) Choose South Africa from the third drop down menu

STEP 6 – YOU are now registered as a user of the Consulado Geral de Portugal em Joanesburgo (whether with your own ID number OR with one created for you - YOU SHOULD have received a confirmation email if the latter). NOW CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO BOOK FOR – a description of what you can book for and what option is ALREADY available in our WEBSITE www.cgj.org.za

STEP 7 – Available categories for booking – CHOOSE ONLY ONE: Documentos de viagem / Travel documents Documentos de Identigficação Civil / ID Documents Registo Civil / Civil Status Noariado / Notary Certificados

SOME OPTIONS ALLOW YOU TO BOOK FOR FAMILIES – Check the box if you want that – Change Não to Sim (Pretende um agendamento familiar para este ato)

STEP 8 – Accept terms and conditions Then choose Calendarizar

STEP 9 – Confirm you are not a machine with the CAPTCHA CODE (write in the blank space) PRESS Continuar (Go on)

STEP 10 – Choose an available date and time. YOU MAY HAVE TO LOOK DOWN AS NOT ALL ACTS ARE AVAILABLE ALL THE TIME

STEP 11 – Check the date and time booked and if you agree, PRESS Submeter Agendamento

STEP 12 – Confirm your booking

STEP 13 – You have now a confirmation in PDF format (see below what you get if you open it). You can consult, print it or save it to your computer. You will also receive an email confirming your booking – look for it as it may have gone to spam

This is what a booking looks like – BE AWARE THAT IF YOU BOOK AGAIN FOR THE SAME ACT IT WILL CANCEL PREVIOUS APPOINTMENT
