Step by Step of My Music Magazine Double Page Spread

I used the text box tool to allow me to be able to import my interview that I had typed up on Microsoft Word. I then proceeded to make the questions red so that they stand out more as a stark contrast between the black and white colours.

Next I added page numbers also using the text box tool as this is a key aspect needed on the double page spread because this allows the reader to reach the page they want to immediately after they have read the contents page

I have now included a drop quote that will be placed above my main image. I have picked white as the font colour to make the text stand out against the picture

I then made the title for my double page spread. The tools I used to produce the effect on the title are the letters that are bold in the circle. I like how my title looks as it stands out against the extremely dark background and I also like how there is a 3D effect on the letters

For my main image I decided to edit the photo on Photoshop as his eye in the corner was red.

I then needed to select the red area using the lasso tool and then chose the option refine edge. Once selected I chose the feather option which made the redness less harsh.

I then needed to decrease the amount of redness in the image by making the lightness brighter which would decrease the amount of redness.

Here is my final music magazine double page spread. I think that in the end my article looked professional and used the codes and conventions to make it look presentable. I also made sure to use the same colour scheme that I had been using throughout and made my masthead use the same colours also to make it stand out and fit in with the rest of my magazine. My main image was bold and the colours of black and grey made the artist stand out more. The artist had a neutral expression on his face which also coincides with the genre of my magazine. The masthead is also bold and stands out to the audience allowing the reader to have an understanding of who the interview will be about as leading lines allow your eyes to see the title first.
