i. New Users : New users without VPN account have to select this option for registration.
ii. Existing Users : There are two options.
a. Renewal: Existing users whose DSC is expiring
b. Add/ Modification: Changes in any information of user, reporting officer or additional requirement for new Server access
iii. Projects: This option is for bulk users who have to access specific set of servers under a project and using DSC issued by other CAs as NICCA, Encode, IDRBT.
Select any of these 3 options as per requirement and follow the steps given below,

New User
a. All user needs to read the Instruction and accept the Terms and Condition before filling up the form.
b. Section I of the form has to be filled by the user who wiil be using the VPN services .
c. By default all user will be provided Digital Certificate issued from VPNCA .
d. Users who are applying for 1st time and don’t have DSC from any approved , has to fill ‘NA’ in the ‘Common Name’ and ‘Digital Certificate Serial’ field in the login page.
e. In point 1.3 provide the IP address of Web site, FTP server and Database server and website/URL which will be accessed over VPN. Consult your NIC Web coordinator for the details.
The application form has to be signed by the HOD of respective Government department / Project Coordinator preferably with email ID from ‘gov.in’ or ‘nic.in’ and verified by designated NIC Coordinator/ Web Coordinator/ State Data Center In-charge.
� On section of ‘New User’ , users without any digital certificate , this page will be displayed. Provide the email address. And select next
� Fill the online form carefully . Change in the Name, Email address and Mobile no. will not be entertained once the VPN application is submitted to VPN support for processing.

� NIC coordinator list is selected as per the details available in webservice.nic.in . In case the name of NIC coordinator is not listed . Select other and provide the details.
� After successful submission , Click “ Click here to print the Application Form” .

Take the printout of the application form and forward it through reporting officer and NIC coordinator. The VPN application form has to be submitted to NIC coordinators or at the following address,

If the scanned copy is send , it should be forwarded to [email protected] by NIC web coordinators only through their official email ID and the original application form has to retained by the NIC coordinator .
� Communication of New VPN application
• Since all communication are through email , User/ reporting officer/NIC coordinator shall use only the registered ID .
• User has to send the signed and verified application to NIC coordinator.

• The NIC coordinator shall sign and forwarded the scanned copy of the application to [email protected] with Subject as ‘New VPN application No VPNXXXXX’ . The signed and verified scanned copy has to be enclosed.
• With CC to user and reporting officer.
• VPN support will send the VPN account details, DSC and Private key directly to user
• After processing is completed vpnsupport will send mail to user, reporting officer, NIC coordinator , websupport and firewall support for intimation .
Existing Users
a. Renewal : Existing users whose DSC is expiring in next one month or expired.
• User has to login using his/her existing DSC, registered email and VPN Register ID. In case there is no change in the existing information , can forward the generated PDF to NIC coordinator through registered email.
• In case there is any change in mandatory fields as email, mobile , HOD or NIC coordinator, the renewal forms need to be forwarded through reporting officer and verified by NIC coordinator. In this case the application form has to be signed by user. Reporting officer and NIC coordinator.
• If there is any changes in the user’s personal information, list of servers, details of the reporting officer and NIC coordinator , user will be directed to Add/ Modification module.
� Select the Digital Certificate , that needs to be renewed. The details will be auto- selected from the DSC.

� Communication of Renewal/Modification application
• Since all communication are through email , User/ reporting officer/NIC coordinator shall use only the registered ID .
• User has to send renewal to NIC coordinator with Subject as Renewal of VPN application No VPNXXXXX
• User has to send Modification application to NIC coordinator with Subject as Additional of VPN application No VPNXXXXX’ .
• The NIC coordinator shall forwarded the application to [email protected]. Use inline option for correspondence reference.
• With CC to user and reporting officer.
• After processing is completed , vpnsupport will intimate to user, reporting officer, NIC coordinator , websupport and firewall support .
Project :
This option is for bulk users who have to access specific set of servers under a project and using DSC issued by other CA s as NICCA, Encode, IDRBT.
Projects are special requirement where bulk users are required to access same group of servers . The Projects are approved by the competent authorities and due POC testing. Once the project is approved , a project ID is provided . All users under that project has to register under that Project ID. Presently IVFRT/RBI are some paid projects are using NIC VPN .

The NIC Project coordinator shall verify and forward the same to VPN support.
� Communication of applications under Project
• User has to send the signed and verified application to NIC coordinator.
• The NIC coordinator shall sign and forwarded the scanned copy of the application to [email protected] with Subject as ‘New VPN application Under Project XXX’ . The signed and verified scanned copy has to be enclosed.
• With CC to user and reporting officer.
• VPN support will send the VPN account details, DSC and Private key directly to user . If DSC issued by other CA , only VPN account password will be send through SMS.
• After processing is completed vpnsupport will send mail to user, reporting officer, NIC coordinator , websupport and firewall support for intimation .
NIC VPN Services For Cloud Users
• For accessing cloud services , Users don’t have to apply separately . The users needed VPN accounts are mentioned in the sign-up form.
• All requests are forwarded through cloud support . The cloud support, VPN
and Firewall team communication and process internally for seamless activation of cloud services.
• On receiving the request from cloud support , VPN support process the
requirement and provide VPN account, DSC and VPN registered ID to all users as per the sign-up form.
• The firewall permission is also done internally as per the request from cloud
support.
• Once the VPN details are provided , Users need to communicate with VPN support only for assistance if required and support.
• For renewal of VPN account , the cloud user can apply in Renewal option as
regular VPN user with reference to their VPN registration ID .
• For users already having VPN accounts and need to access cloud services , they can apply through Add/ Modification option .
