    BOOK JACKET REDESIGN

    PROJECTBook Cover Jacket

    CLIENTStudent work

    YEAR2011

OBJECTIVERedesign a cover, spine and back panel for a novel. The cover of a book is the essen-tial tool designed to engage, intrigue, and communicate overall concept. This can be achieved through the use of photography, mixed media, il-lustration, typography or a combination of these.

DESCRIPTIONThis is a collection of short stories. Consisting of mostly horror, but some lighter sto-ries are included. The image was intended to convey both. There is a sense of beauty, and a sense of terror.

    EXPRESSIVE TYPOGRAPHY

    PROJECTExpressive Typography

    CLIENTStudent work

    YEAR2011

OBJECTIVESelect words and explore their expressive quality by manipu-lating the letter forms. Modify the words in a way that en-hances their meaning. Consid-er the possibilities of altering the shapes of the letterforms or varying the letter spacing in the word without compromis-ing the legibility or integrity of the word form.

DESCRIPTIONUsing creativity I was able to form words using their mean-ing into interesting images.

    DESIGN MOVEMENTMAGAZINE

    PROJECTDesign Movement Magazine

    CLIENTStudent work

    YEAR2011

OBJECTIVEUsing the assigned design movement (DADA) create 2 spreads in an informative, but fun to look at layout. The end result will be intended to edu-cate while showing innovative, fresh design that shows off each design movement clearly and in an interesting way.

DESCRIPTIONAs DADA is a very out-there movement. My style is more clean and consice, so this was a challenge. Making the layout as clean as possible while still portraying the aesthetic of the DADA movement.

    EPICWIN SOAPSPACKAGE DESIGN

PROJECTPackage Design and Target Marketing SOAP

    CLIENTStudent work

    YEAR2011

OBJECTIVEWe have been charged with the task of presenting a variety of package designs for their bar soap products. They currently only have a base formula for a moisturizing bath/hand/beauty soap that can be produced in a variety of molded shapes and fragrances. Target group: Col-lege aged Male

DESCRIPTIONFor my target audience, I want-ed to appeal in a way other than sex, like other products on the market. Instead focusing on video games, because they are so universal, especially for young men. Using well-known games and using fragrances that appeals just as well.
