• By the age of 27, Stephen F. Austin decided to help his father by moving three-hundred families to settle in Texas.

• These first settlers of Texas were given the name of the, "Old Three Hundred".

to Texas (which was then known as Tejas), Stephen F. Austin helped the new colonists and the people of the Mexican Government talk to each other.

• A giant statue of Stephen F. Austin was started in April of 2004 to honor Stephen F. Austin for all he had done.

named after Stephen F. Austin. Twelve acres of the park were set aside in honor of the area's past. It is located on the Brazos River.

• After devoting the best years of his life to the cause of Texas, Stephen F. Austin died December 27, 1836 at the age of 43.

• Each year a celebration is held at the site of his death in Brazoria County.
