Stereotypes

UK vs. Spain

Page 2: Stereotypes

Are stereotypes good?

• Stereotypes can sometimes seem offensive.

• Sometimes they can be untrue

• Sometimes they are funny!

Page 3: Stereotypes

How do the Brits stereotype themselves?

The British are the best!– Lucy, age 19, UK

I think British people, especially the English, are always rude to Spanish people when they’re on holiday and act like royalty or something, it has always annoyed me . – Courtney, age 19, UK

What do Brits think of Spaniards?

I think the men are Sleazy

There are stereotypes surrounding the spanish that they're sleazy or something even though you get sleazebags everywhere

Page 8: Stereotypes

I think the Spanish people are lovely and kind. They are also very laid back

I think the Spanish are lazy with all the mid-day sleeping they do, and they are very relaxed

Objective Opinion

The Spanish are• Open Minded• Religious• Family Orientated• Happy

The British are• Always complaining about

something• Unhappy• They think they are better

than others• They can be mean to each

other without a good reason

Cultural Differences I have noticed

• The children in Spain have more respect for their elders than the children in Britain

• The working schedule is different• The eating schedule is different• People drink much less alcohol

(“Booze Britain”)• EVERYBODY eats meat. Quite a lot of

people in the U.K are vegetarian

Booze Britain

Britian has developed a culture of binge drinking in recent years.

If you find yourself in a city centre any time after 1am at the weekend, you will probably see very drunk people passed out, vomiting, fighting and even urinating in public.
