STI GOES GLOBAL W ITH TATA
A iming to deliver specialization through application-oriented courses to S T I
students, TATA Consultancy Service (TCS) entered into a partnership with STI
Educat ion Services Group, Inc. (ST I) . The M em orandum of Agreement (M OA ) was
signed on A ugust 13, 2014 at B ench T ower in C rescent Park We st , Bonifacio Global
City. The agreement will work towards training students taking business-related
courses in ST I to be read y to take on jobs in the business industry with the courses
designed by TCS, which are tailored to integrate knowledge straight from the
industry to the curriculum of ST I's business-related p rograms .
ST I 's Vice President for Academ ics Dr. Lloyd C . Bautis ta and ST I 's A lumni
Relations, Placement and L inkages M anager Ms. B am bi Asis-Geronimo were present
during the event, while STI's President Monico V. Jacob was joined by TATA's
C ountry Manager Vikram S ingh in signing the M OA between the two comp anies.
The agreement will strengthen the industry-academic linkages in courseware
development and faculty training of STI which will in turn benefit the academic
growth of ST I students. T hese students, who will gain from T C S-Designed Courses,
wil l also serve as T A T A 's human capi tal investment for the future as the courseware
itself spe eds up the training program , thus prese nting a better chance of emp loym ent
in the company.
T A T A is a 132.35 billion comp any with 32 publicly-listed T A T A enterprises,
running com panies with significant scale such as TA T A Steel , T A T A M otors, TA T A
P o w e r, T A T A C h e m ic a ls , T A T A G l o ba l B e v e r ag e s, T A T A T e le s e rv ic e s, T A T A
C om m unicat ions , T i tan , and T aj Majal Hotels . W hen Bam bi A sis -Geronimo was
approached by T A T A representa tives R aj iv N oronha and A nj Backstrom to propose
a partnership w ith ST I, the institution was truly privileged to be one of the very few
institutions in this country to work with a compa ny as big as T A T A .
W ith the objective to develop Business P rocess Services and M anagem ent as a
specialization area in the curriculum offered by ST I and boosting the knowledge of
STI students about the industry, TCS-Designed Courses aims to support STI in
providing the Business and Management program with a full curriculum
specializing in Business P rocess Services and M anagem ent . T o apply this into the
courseware, TCS will conduct a Train the Trainer Program ( TTF Program ) to
teach the TCS-Designed Courses to selected STI faculty members. Upon the
successful completion of the program, participating faculty members will be deemed
TCS-certified to teach the course and students who will learn from these faculty
members will receive a certification as well.
"STI offers a unique value p roposit ion by participating w ith top global companies in
aligning their courseware to international industry requirements. Aside from local industry
par tners , STI has ex tended i ts reach in the g loba l com mu ni ty when i t com es to qua l i ty
education,"
Dr. Lloyd B autista says in a statem ent.
