“Given the work’s versatility and impact, many other companies must now be considering how Stickboy might speak to their diverse constituencies. There is every likelihood that Vancouver Opera’s big gamble will see an extended and pro-ductive life.” - David Gordon Duke, Vancouver Sun
“The other big strength the opera has going for it is its cool, beautifully brush-stroked animation by Giant Ant, ... The animationcontinuesthroughtheopera, givingitadistinctive, moodyvisualidentity, fromthesnowflakesthatoftenfloathauntingly across the stage’s three screens ....” - Janet Smith, The Straight
“Koyczan’s libretto brims with quality and originality, and his voice is completely his own. Liberal use of voice-over with musical accompaniment provides many of the evening’s most haunting moments.” - David Gordon Duke
