All of the girls teams having participated in at least one tournament already
District play is well underway in both D5 and D10. After witnessing a terrible display of lack of sportsmanship by the parents from RiverLakes 10B team, I sent their President and the District Director a letter. We should all be reminded that this is a game and that it provides many opportunities to teach life’s lessons. Let’s not find ourselves on the wrong end of one of these incidents.

Equipment - Mike Fette/Karl Anderson
Thanks to our apparel program through Bauer and Dave's we should have about a $1000 credit to spend on Bauer merchandise. We are going to use this to pay for some of the miscellaneous expenses that the board approved at last months meeting. On a similar note, there is still time for families to order apparel through Dave's/Bauer. Turn around time has been pretty fast, especially if you order in the store (Maple Grove). The more we order the bigger the associations store credit will be. If you have had any trouble with any of your orders please let Karl Anderson know, [email protected] This information is helpful when deciding which vendors to use. Also if you have comments or concerns about anything equipment related please let Karl know.
Ice Scheduler – Cully Reinbold/Mite Ice Scheduler - Jenny Bilicki Jr. Gold is scheduling, Monticello gave ice time for them, as there are several MAML players on the team. STMA ice is getting slim. We are getting teams in for dryland and skills, practices are very hard to come by. Using a lot of ice from Schwans. Buffalo has a new scheduler this year and it has been tough getting ice from them. Continuing to get any ice from Monti and Rogers that they have for sale. I received the mite schedule through 12/8/13. I will get 12/14 forward as soon as I have that back from the mites.

All team managers have been assigned
Scorebook submission has been communicated in multiple ways to the managers and feedback from D5 is that we are doing well. Fielding lots of questions (5-10 daily emails) which has helped get communication and clarification out to all manager’s. In process of updating and clarifying procedures in Manager handbook. Manager’s, keep asking questions and continue to refer them to me for clarification. If I don’t know I will find out or refer you to whoever can help.

E-mails: Because we have SO many people in our Association my e-mail distribution lists are large. If you are receiving emails from me at multiple accounts or believe you may have an old email address on the list let me know. I want to delete the email addresses not used to keep my lists as current as possible. I am working on a project for skaters in their last year with youth hockey. 2nd year Bantams and 2nd year U14's. Send a photo of your skater from his/her first year in hockey. An action shot is OK but I would prefer a professional one. Send to Team Managers. This does not include skater’s that moved up to HS (boys and girls). Question - Where do the cashed Volunteer Checks go? Per Jeff, they go to the General Fund. We could put in the Shining Knights Fund.
Treasurer’s Report – Jeff Swenson Handbook Committee - see below

PR – David Berg
The 2nd sheet fun day - 1 outstanding check. Has that come in yet?
Facilities Committee Outdoor Sheet Bolton Inc. - topographic study for free to us (STMAYHA). Normally costs up to 3k
Civil engineering costs of 3-4k will also be free to us and this service allows to start the process of building the outdoor sheet of ice. Still need to get City Approval and STMAYHA Board to vote.
Initiation – Becky Rogalski/Eric Kindgren
Request that the association cover the $10,900 (approximate based on last year) fees for mite tournaments and jamborees. Motion made to pay $4,250 for 1 jamboree and also in this motion is a request for Mite teams to use the Dryland Facility at no cost (no treadmill) from now until the end of the season (time has to be on schedule). Coaches have to have a plan for leading dryland - Approved - Paul/Nate
Mites are wondering if there is a surplus of monies from registration fee’s where are they and what are they used for? There is no “surplus” of money. Mites are charged a flat rate. Mites and travelling levels are charged fee’s for being part of the Association; fee’s such as administrative costs (postage, copies, paper, ink cartridges - just to name a few), coaches reimbursements and fee’s, ref fee’s, legal costs, equipment and other fee’s. Ice time is not the only expense.
NEW BUSINESS
Ice Scheduler – Cully Reinbold
Do any teams want practice on 12/31? January ice is VERY hard to come by, so teams may want to take it while they can get it.
Girls Coordinator- Nate Allen
Discussion with Bryan Heiber (coach of the 14U) and the District Director about possibly reclassifying the 14s to be a “B” team.
No final decision yet, as the key hold up is that they would need to withdraw from their remaining tournaments without many good options available. If the Board is inclined to allow the change and absorb any cancellation fees that result, we might make the decision right away. This would likely affect one and maybe two tournaments fees. HOC recommends Girls 14UA stays at A not go down to B
SafeSport – Josh O
Have to have Locker Room Monitors. If we are caught not having them the consequence is not being able to District play. All reports are confidential.
