New Year Message from VicarDearly beloved in Christ,Cheer to all….! Wishing you all a happy & blessed New Year! One more year is behind; God in his mercy has given us another chance. Its record is made and cannot change. Doubtless there is much in it we would like to change, some things we wish we had done different, something left undone, some regret and hopefully some good too….
Like other Christian festivals, the celebration of the New Year’s Day began in the west before the church came into being. At first, the Romans celebrated it to Janus, the two- faced god who looks backwards into the old year and forward into the new. In his role as the guardian of exits and entrances, Janus was also believed to represent beginnings. The explanation for this belief is that one must emerge through a door or gate in order to enter into a new place. Therefore, the Romans also considered Janus as the god of beginnings and his name was an obvious choice for the first month of their calendar.The first day of the New Year is the day to meditate on the past and the year ahead. The Bible teaches a Hebrew boy to remember God’s providence which was experienced in the life of forefathers during their journey from the land of Egypt to Canaan, the promised land (exodus 12: 26). We must thank God for his wonderful mercies showered upon us in the past and look ahead with the ray of hope in God and submit to His guidance. Each of us must admit that we could have done better and everyone ought to do better than he/she is doing. We might fall short of doing God’s expectation; let us re-dedicate ourselves in doing Lord’s will. Every family must … Have a regular family prayer, Bible Reading, personal prayers & devotions. Have active involvement in worship services, prayer meetings. Set apart some of your time-tithe for promotion of gospel works, and that of your
income-tithe for mission and charity. Abstain oneself from all situations that may tamper the body and spirit, the socio-
religious culture of the land and ecology of the nature, etc.Some would make little resolutions and speak ill of making them. Remember, to end up straight you must start straight and keep straight. The start is vital to the ending. Has any athlete ever won the race by starting with an attitude of conceding to failure in the end? God’s will is clearly stated for all Christians to keep on trying, and who never give up! “We can do all things through Jesus Christ, who strengthens us” (Philippians 4:13). May this New Year give you the courage to triumph over the vices in the society, and embrace the virtues for a prosperous life ahead. May God be with you and bless you.

This year’s Christmas Carol Service was held on Friday, the 19th of December at The Indian Community Senior School auditorium. Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Theethos Episcopa delivered the Christmas message and Sabha Trustee, Adv. Prakash P. Thomas was also present.
This year's Sunday School Christmas Program, Anniversary and Prize Distribution was held on 27th December at ICSK Senior School. The students enacted the incidents which took place from the birth of Lord Jesus until His crucifixion and resurrection under the name "Crib to Cross".
