Most concerns have been traffic issues with drivers running through stop signs and speeding. Also, school is back in session and many children are running around in the mornings and late afternoon. Please slow down and pay attention, so we don’t have any tragic accidents! If you have any questions or concerns about the security of our neighborhood please let me know. Thanks, Vincent Haile [email protected] Yard of the Month The holiday rain sure did perk up our yards. Since it has cooled somewhat, now is the time to go ahead and clear out all those plants that didn’t make it through our scorching weather. All trees that have died need to be removed by the homeowner and be replaced, according to our deed covenants. Happy Gardening- Kim Parker [email protected]. HAIRY MAN FESTIVAL and 5K RUN Join us for this year’s festival and 5K run! Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 The run will start at 8 am on the Brushy Creek Trail near Hairy Man Road. The festival is from Noon to 7 p.m. at Cat Hollow Park. Admission to the festival is two non-perishable food items or $2 per person. Last year, this family oriented fall festival raised over $32,000 in non-perishable food and cash donations which are donated to three local food banks - Hill Country Ministries, Round Rock Serving Center and St. Vincent de Paul, and other local non-profit organizations. At the festival you can shop for arts and crafts, support local civic groups, school clubs, homeowner associations, and charitable organizations through dozens of food and game booths, and enjoy special performances and live music all day. Judged by local community leaders, the Hairiest Man Contest closes out the fun-filled festival day. If it rains, the event will be moved to Sunday, Oct. 22nd. The 5K run, coordinated by the Great Oaks Elementary PTA, will be a fundraiser for Great Oaks Elementary.
