Summary

• This article is about how the younger generations are living life constantly on fast-forward.

• The younger generations find domestic chores and making meals from scratch a waste of time.

• When everything is so easy to get, you lose the appreciation of accomplishing a goal.

How Amy Uses Ethos

• Amy Wu uses ethos to show her audience that she is just like them.

• Amy also shows that she too thought making meals from scratch was a waste of time when you could just by something premade. But she learned that making a meal from scratch for your family can bring you lots of joy.

How Amy Wu Uses Pathos

• Appeals to Humor – Funny examples of time saving items

• We are all about saving time and getting things done faster. These examples are funny because of how extreme and bizarre they are.

• “That night I grinned as my father and sister dug into the pasta, then the cake, licking their lips in appreciation. It had been a long time since I’d felt so proud. A week later my cousin called and thanked me for my letter, the first handwritten correspondence she’d received in two years.”

How Amy Wu Uses Logos

• Amy Wu uses logos to show that there are logical reasons for the arguments she has in her essay.

• She also uses logos to show people the truth using facts and statistics about the main objective of the essay.
