Repairing and strengthening parking decks weakened by corrosion-related deterioration can consume even the most robust maintenance budgets if not accomplished using techniques designed to limit the impact to building occupants, and minimize lost revenue from parking decks.

Structural Strengthening Solutions Milliken Infrastructure Solutions continues to develop solutions and commercialize products to strengthen and stabilize buildings and parking garages. The RenewWrap™ family of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) strengthening systems are used to strengthen or retrofit existing concrete, masonry, or steel structures. Firestrong materials are used to strengthen beams and slabs in buildings that operate at very high temperatures and the FRP is required to sustain load for the duration of a fire event.

RenewWrap™ FRP SystemsRenewWrap wet lay-up systems, comprising carbon or E-glass fiber fabrics and specially formulated epoxy resins, are versatile enough to be used in most concrete and masonry applications. Our RenewWrap™ ESR system has been issued an evaluation report by ICC-ES (ESR-3663). For projects where it is necessary to embed the reinforcement just below the surface RenewWrap CF bars and tapes are ideal for near surface mounted (NSM) applications.

RenewWrap™ Strand Sheet® Inspired by Japanese bamboo blinds, RenewWrap™ Strand Sheets®* consist of hundreds of factory-made carbon fiber/epoxy strands woven into sheets. Strand sheets are externally bonded to existing steel, concrete, and masonry structures to enhance their strength and stiffness. High modulus strand sheets are ideal for addressing corrosion or damage to existing steel structures, especially in locations where welding can be difficult or dangerous.

FireStrong The FireStrong strengthening system is a near surface mounted (NSM) fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) strengthening system that maintains its strength at temperatures up to 400° F. When used with the innovative FireStrong thermal protection system, retrofitted members can achieve fire ratings of up to three hours where the FRP is required to resist loads for the duration of the fire event.

Geopolymer Mortar Systems GeoAerA lightweight, aerated geopolymer concrete, this versatile product is used to address challenges of supporting roads or surface parking on poor soils to increasing the elevation or leveling supported slabs. Uniformly distributed air voids within the geopolymer displace force and create a lightweight material with high strength/weight, fire, and insulation properties.
