• Monographs, as the carriers of knowledge in H&SS, are too precious not to protect: secure investment
• OA e-books come alongside for-sale printed versionAND:• Version of Record is the one at the publisher’s site
which is the one that should be referred to• Driving usage to own content platform is key, also
for additional sales, e.g. PoD paperback

• Perceived value is influenced by free access to the content
=> What publication history & is it peer reviewed?• OA promotes re-use beyond the publisher’s control
while the version of record may alter: erratum, updates, enhancements, new editions, …
