Strategic Connections is a licensed low voltage and unlimited electrical contractor specializing in the de-sign and installation of communication and power infrastructure. Our services include design engineering and installation for interior and campus infrastructure cabling, audiovisual presentation systems for training rooms and executive conference rooms, high definition display systems, card access, biometrics and facial recognition systems, perimeter control systems, closed circuit television monitoring and recording devices, noise masking and paging systems, business telephone systems, multi-site rollouts, fire alarm systems, along with any fully licensed custom electrical construction services.

Serving the southeastern United States, Strategic Connections has grown to be one of the leading provid-ers of high quality communication infrastructures. Regionally, Strategic Connections has provided services throughout North Carolina and South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Strategic Connections has also performed work in Pennsylvania, Texas, Nevada, Maryland, Mas-sachusetts, and California. Strategic Connections has provided services for companies including but not limited to, ABB, BD Technologies, BB&T, Credit Suisse, Fidelity Investments, National Church of God, IBM, Martin Marietta, Central Church of God, Network Appliance, NC State University, Pepsi, Progress Energy, RBC Bank, Revlon, RTI International, Sears, Solectron, Sprint, Target, UNC, Wake Forest University, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, and numerous city and county government facilities.

Strategic Connections was formed by the company’s President, Scott McLaughlin, incorporated in October of 1998, Strategic Connections has achieved steady growth every year since. From small local business sup-port to the largest project the Department of Defense implemented in the United States in 2006, (over 100 buildings at Fort Bragg), Strategic Connections delivers uncompromising solutions for its customers.

In August of 2009 Strategic Connections acquired OneSource Building Technologies Audiovisual, Sound & Lighting Group, (AVSL). OneSource AVSL formerly LONG COMMUNICATIONS established in 1949, still car-ries on the long standing tradition of system design and installation without compromise. This unification between Strategic Connections and OneSource has created one of the premier full service integrators in the country. This allows us to provide a single source of accountability for all technology requirements for new and existing building infrastructure. We are very excited about the strength this union brings to our customers, providing the ability to support and respond to all structured wiring, power, security, audiovisual, sound, lighting, voice and networking needs for modern day businesses including but not limited to, Houses of Worship, Government and Educational markets large and small. 2.2 STRATEGIC CONNECTIONS HEADQUARTERSIn 2002 Strategic Connections completed construction of its own building at 5132 Departure Drive to serve as its Headquarters. In just two short years we outgrew this facility and in October 2004 moved into a newly remodeled 30,000 square foot facility. Our new Headquarters is located at 2721 Spring Forest Road, which is at the intersection of Departure Drive and Spring Forest Roads in North Raleigh just west of U.S. Highway 1 (Capital Boulevard).

3.1 REQUIREMENTS GATHERING, ANALYSIS, AND DOCUMENTATION

Customer requirement analysis is performed by a senior member of Strategic Connections engineering staff who is experienced in the integration of his/her specific discipline including but not limited to, complex audiovisual, sound, lighting and video teleconferencing systems; structured cabling systems, commercial security systems, business telephone systems, and power/electrical systems. A detailed specification study, project drawing review, site survey to gather information on current architecture, and personal meetings or telephone interviews with customer’s technical staff is performed to determine all technical requirements.

3.2 SYSTEM DESIGN PROPOSALS

System design proposals are developed in a very systematic and linear process. The information acquired by the procedures above is the basis of the specific system design. A solution is developed by our engineering staff and a required hardware and software list is generated. A detailed statement of work accompanies all design proposals.

3.3 PROGRAM MANAGEMENT TASKS

Program Management Tasks are developed by Strategic Connections project managers to ensure all plan-ning, resource allocation and coordination is accomplished as per all work requirements contained in our contract documents. Project scope orientation meetings are held to review the task completion schedules.

3.4 PROGRAM MANAGEMENT PLANNING

As part of program management Strategic Connections develops the course of actions report and schedules the time necessary to carry out tasks set forth in our contracts. As program management tasks are complet-ed, biweekly management reports will be generated to maximize progress and performance through the application of proactive planning.

Among our management and engineering staff are industry certified professionals who are required to maintain Continuing Education Credits (CECs) annually to retain their professional credentials. Certified Technology Specialists in System Design and Integration (CTS ,CTS-D, and CTS®-I) credentials are ANSI ac-credited under the International Standard ISO/IEC 17024. Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) credentials are BICSI accredited. Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials are accredited under Project Management Institute (PMI®), an organization that stands as a global leader in the field of proj-ect management and maintains ISO 9001 certification in Quality Management Systems.
