Objectives:

Generally, the student is expected to learn about prepositions, especially the at, in and on. Specifically, the student is expected to be able to:

1. Be patient in completing the tasks prepared.2. Identify what preposition is.3. Identify where prepositions are located in the sentence.4. Distinguish the prepositions at, in and on from one another.5. Use the preposition at in time, place and location.6. Use the preposition in in time, place and location.7. Use the preposition on in time, place and location.8. Compare and contrast the three target prepositions.9. Determine the prepositions needed in a particular sentence.10. Identify whether the prepositions in a sentence is correct or not.

Preposition is a function word.

It is one of the eight parts of speech (noun, pronoun, adjective, adverb,

verb, preposition, adjective and interjection). Many prepositions are confusing because not many teachers

give focus on them.

This material intends to present and clarify to

you the prepositions at, in and on.

They say these prepositions are the

most difficult, but do not be afraid.

You will surely learn how to use them correctly through

simple yet fun activities waiting

ahead of you.

Incorporate the previous lessons you

have learned.

to show relationship.

The combination of preposition with noun or pronoun is called

prepositional phrase.

For PLACE…

at is used in specific place & address, on is for

streets, roads, avenues, etc., while

in is for wider places such as towns, cities, countries

& continents.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING.

My address is #19, Atlas St., Bacolod City.

So I say,“I live at #19, Atlas St., Bacolod City.”

What’s yours? Where do you live?

Now, what are the streets & avenues in your place?

So, we say,“There are many restaurants on Lacson St.”

Francis Macomber had, half an hour before, been carried to his tent from the edge of the camp in triumph on the arms and shoulders of the cook, the personal boys, the skinner and the porters. The gun-bearers had taken on part in the demonstration.
