NEWS RELEASE 13 th March 2017 Street Arts Festival set to draw crowds to Hertford Residents and visitors to Hertford town centre will be able to enjoy a full day of activities, as Hertford’s first Street Arts Festival takes place on Saturday 22 nd April, as part of the 2017 Hertford Arts Festival Parliament Square will house a performance arena, featuring BMX Flatland Stunts from Lee Musselwhite, sets from local singers Beth Hedges and Alysha, Capoeira displays plus an array of performances from local dance and drama groups, including Hertford Regional College. Budding artists will be able to try their hand at Pavement Art in the square, courtesy of local charity, CHIPS. The Mayor of Hertford will be on hand to judge the best effort, with a special prize for the winner. Bircherley Green shopping centre will feature Punch and Judy shows and the talents of local musicians, including Joe Richardson. There will also be a chance to take part in Sand Art craft sessions and get the whole family’s faces painted. The green beside Hertford Theatre will be home to Street Art Workshops, with leading professionals Real1 and K9. Each workshop will run for 90 minutes, for those aged 11+, with a maximum of 12 participants per session. Sessions will cost £5pp, with each participant able to take his or her canvas creation home with them. For those wanting to take things at a gentler pace, there will also be the opportunity to take part in a guided walk through the town - “Brush up your Shakespeare” will start at 2pm, and tickets (£5) are available in person from the Hertford Town and Tourist Information Centre on The Wash or by calling 01992 584322. Street Arts Festival set to draw crowds to Hertford Residents and visitors to Hertford town centre will be able to enjoy a full day of activities, as Hertford’s first Street
