    1.0 INTRODUCTION

    1.1 OVERVIEW OF THE PLATFORM AND PIPLINE FACILITY

    Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPN) desires to upgrade the Eku EA and UNAM CB Wellhead Platforms. The intent of the upgrade is to bring the pipelines into compliance with the requirements of the MPN Pipeline Integrity Management System by installing pigging facilities capable of launching and retrieving intelligent pig tools at the platforms. A pig launcher is installed at Eku EA and a pig receiver at Unam CB platform.

    The general project scope is as detailed below:

    Review the project scope of work and conceptual engineering conducted to date as related in the Project Design Basis (PDBs).

    As-build affected drawings and information relating to the project. Produce new documents (analysis reports, studies, demolition and

    modification drawings, data sheets, specifications, etc.) as required to complete the FEED/Detailed engineering work and produce the IFC package.

    Develop the Project Design Basis (PDB) Addendum/Supplement for the pipelines. This document shall be created by updating information from the PDBs to reflect changes and additional detail made during FEED/Detailed Engineering.

    Update all existing drawings affected by the modifications and produce new drawings as required

    Develop Equipment procurement specifications for long lead and specialty items. This will include complete procurement specifications, not just data sheets).

    Address interfaces between this project and other applicable projects. Prepare Construction Scope of Work. Produce a complete design package.

    1.2 PIPING STRESS SCOPE OF WORK

    The Piping Thermal flexibility analysis scope of work is to examine the compliance of piping systems from the pig receiver to Tie-In Point 64201-01 on Unam CB platform. The analysis was performed as required by ASME B31.3 / B31.8 on the following lines:

    18 LN 642 0002 E8E 12 LN 642 0001 E1E 8 LN 527 0001 E1E.

    2.0 OBJECTIVE

    The stress analysis examines the compliance of piping systems to the requirements of ASME B31.3 / B31.8 Process Piping / Pipeline codes, for metallic pipes. Only lines NPS 12 and larger in accordance with GP 03-01-01 and GP 03-07-01 were considered.

    3.0 CONCLUSION

    The stress analysis examines the compliance of piping systems for the pig receiver at Unam CB platform to the requirements of ASME B31.3 / B31.8 Process Piping / Pipeline codes, for metallic pipes. Only lines NPS 12 and larger in accordance with GP 03-01-01 and GP 03-07-01 were considered. However, Kicker Line ( 8 NPS ) has been considered.

    Piping displacement values as shown in the static analysis output are

    consistent and compatible with the analysis input data.

    All calculated stress values on piping elements are within the allowable stresses of ASME code B31.3 / B31.8 for metallic pipes, which is 47720/20,000 X 100%=23.9% @ Node 460 Loadcase of the allowable (Page 23).

    Flange leakage calculation result satisfy the code requirement of ASME

    B31.3/B31.8. (Page 48 - 50)

    Resultant Allowable Bending moment on 18 900LB RF, A105 Flanges according to ASME B16.5 Flanges; Ref- ASME III is 85737.63lb, i. e, ratio of Caesar II Ver. 5.10 out to allowable is 20315.311/85737.63 X 100% = 23.7% (Pages 48-50)
