This training event will help engineers with 3-8 years’ experience and develop technical skills that will help them develop elegant structural designs that meet client requirements and exhibit clarity in the way that framing, stability and load paths are achieved.
The workshop will be presented by several practising structural engineers who will detail ways to examine stability, load paths and framing. Additionally, rules of thumb for sizing of members will be discussed.
Following the technical session, attendees will form groups to develop and present solutions that consider:
1. Functional framing
2. Load transfer and structurally admissible load path, and
3. Stability
Each presentations’ solution will be structurally sound, exhibits simplicity, unity and necessity, and fulfills its intended function.
Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
