Research and DevelopmentThe R&D division is a part of STT Emtec AB and consists of a homo-geneous highly educated group of people, dedicated to research anddevelopment and with a large competence in the area of internalcombustion engines and its related systems.
STT Emtec's R&D operations are extensive and include mechanicaland electronic design plus testing as well as the production of proto-types. In order to facilitate the integration of its products in today'sadvanced emission control systems the company also possesses spe-cialist expertise in the fields of chemistry and physics.
STT Emtec has state of the art engine laboratories, with access toadvanced test equipment for measurement of engine and exhaustemission related data. The major part of the Engine laboratory under-takings involves the testing and verification of products that STTEmtec intends to launch on the market. These tasks can cover every-thing from legislated emission tests to simulated traffic in engine testcell, as well as performance and endurance tests on individual com-ponents.
By the combination of scope and specialist expertise STT Emtec R&Doperations have succeeded in established rewarding collaboration withrespected Swedish and international laboratories and scientists.
CompetenceDESIGNSTT Emtec AB’s experienced engineers use up to datetechnology for development and design of new products.3D-CAD, Finite Element Analysis and Rapid Prototypingare used in the development process to meet productrequirements and short lead times.
ELECTRONICSSTT Emtec AB has extensive experience in development,installation and retrofitting of electronic managementsystems. Our expertise covers everything from hardwareand software design to production technique as well asconformity testing according to automotive demands. STT Emtec has developed its own platform which themajority of our high level control systems are based on.
ENGINE LABORATORYThe testing department has extensive laboratory recoursesincluding three engine test cells with emission measuringequipment and capability of testing everything fromheavy duty diesel engines down to small gasoline engines.
PROTOTYPE MANUFACTURINGSTT Emtec AB has in-house resources for the manufactu-ring of prototypes and for pre-series production. Whenrequired, we can rely on a smoothly integrated networkof partners working in specialized areas.
Capacity Our engine test cell capacity, which is constantly being upgraded,covers heavy-duty diesel engines down to small gasoline engines.
STT Emtec has three engine test cells and capacity to test enginesrated up to 660 kW.
8 Transient test cell for heavy duty diesel engines equipped with full flow CVS system and emission analysers for raw and diluted exhaust gases.Maximal capacity:660 kW, 4400 Nm and 3500 RPM
8 Steady state test cell for medium duty engines equipped with emission analysers for raw exhaust.Maximal capacity:500 kW, 2000 Nm and 8000 RPM
8 Steady state test cell for light to medium duty engines.Maximal capacity:350 kW, 1500 Nm and 10000 RPM
STT Emtec has the capability to perform all relevant European andUSA legislated emission dynamometer tests on diesel engines.
AccreditationSTT Emtec AB is accredited by Swedac according to the internationallyaccepted quality system ISO 17025.
This accreditation guarantee that the tests conducted at STT EmtecAB will be performed in accordance with the legislated rules.

The company has development, production and sales in Sweden, asubsidary in New Jersey, USA and a sales office in England.
