ElementaryBoard of School Directors Meeting
April 1, 2019
How can someone join Student Council?
At the beginning of each new school year, information is given to the fifth-grade class regarding Student Council. If interested, students are asked to fill out an application that contains the following questions:
1. Why do you want to become a member of Student Council?
2. What is one great aspect of Lower Gwynedd?
3. What is an improvement you would make to Lower Gwynedd?
4. What volunteer/community organizations do you admire? Why?
5. What are some ideas you have for this year's Student Council?
What is the purpose of Student Council?
• To promote the whole child, specifically socially and emotionally
• To provide students with an opportunity to share their citizenship
• To assist with assemblies and spirit days
• To promote community awareness, within and outside of the school
• To keep an open line of communication between the Student Council members and the rest of the students at Lower Gwynedd
*Each year is a new experience and may include different opportunities as they arise.
