Student Comments• “Prior to this class I was not a team player and couldn't have

cared less about what others were doing….this led to my isolation from other employees. Since taking the Dale Carnegie

© class, I have actively sought out others within my organization. I have been able to motivate and inspire some of the newer employees, and in turn they kept on working instead of leaving the job. This is a good feeling for me to know that I have influenced someone’s life in a positive way.”

• “I have learned and grown as an individual by taking this course. Living an intentional life and using the Dale Carnegie © principles have bettered my life.”

Student Comments (cont.)• “I have learned to ask more questions about the

other person rather than trying to force my own favorite topics into the conversation. One particular instance when I used this was in my job interview. I was able to carry on conversations with people I had never or barely met with relative ease.”

• “This course should be offered to everyone on campus.”

Student Comments (cont.)• “I loved every minute of it and would take it again if there

were a part two.”• “Before this class, I had very low self-confidence, and my

communication was poor, but by learning these concepts, I feel greatly improved. One principle that has greatly spoken to me is ‘Decide just how much anxiety a thing may be worth and refuse to give it more.’ I use to let worry control my life, but at the beginning of this semester, I decided to improve on the attitude/stress control driver, and worry no longer controls me like it used to. I don’t let it consume my mind and life.”

Student Comments (cont.)• “I feel the information I learned in the Dale

Carnegie © course is going to be the most referenced knowledge of any college course I have taken…”

• “I have put the exercises to good use in forcing myself to talk to a CEO in a high stress, intimidating situation. I have also become confident in my own abilities and made my ideas known. Because of all of these principles I am happy to say that I have been promoted to marketing manager.”

Student Comments (cont.)• “Some of my co-workers said that they didn’t know if I existed

or not. I have heard now that my voice doesn’t shake and I don’t look nervous while speaking.” (from an international student)

• “Going into this course I thought that it would be another public speaking class, but with a business emphasis. Boy, was I wrong! This class has helped me grow as an individual more than any class that I have ever taken. In the past few weeks I have noticed that as I’m out in public, I can communicate with random people easier and have a good, meaningful conversation.”

Student Comments (cont.)• “I’m not only holding myself accountable for my

goals, I’m vocalizing my goals.”• “Dale Carnegie © has truly helped me to harness

the good nature of people and to want to bring out the best in others and myself. It has been a refreshing experience to view people as people and not sources of revenue or as a means to get something.”

Student Comments (cont.)• “When first coming to the class I thought it was going

to be a joke, but what I have found is that it has really taught me some good skills that I actually use every day. This class has been a great experience. The “cycle of performance improvement” model is a very important tool. This model brings skill, attitude, knowledge, and practice together to help you connect with others better. What this model is saying is that it doesn’t take only one of these things; it takes all of them. This model really does work.”

Student Comments (cont.)• “At the beginning of the semester I enjoyed

texting through each of my classmate’s presentations. I later learned the importance of showing attention to others and listening to the thoughts and ideas that they have to convey. I have learned so much more about my peers in this class than I ever thought I would. This concept has helped me to further understand my relationships with others.”

Student Comments (cont.)• “It may seem simple and elementary, but the

exercises about remembering names turned my world upside down. Up until this point, I may have known somewhere between three and four people per class. Now, I can say with ease, that I know by first and last name, every one of my classmates in the Dale Carnegie © course. Remembering names will not only help me now, but all through the next several years as I embark into the workforce.”
