COVID Test On Saturday, May 29th, members of The Chat- tanooga Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, in part- nership with Hamilton County Health Department, in partnership with CDC and NIH, assisted with the project to provide service to our community by dis- tributing and facilitating access for the free, rapid COVID-19 test kits to individuals traveling in the 3800 block of Brainerd Road. Hamilton County residents can help re- duce COVID-19 spread by testing at home and getting results in 10 minutes People who don’t have symptoms can still spread COVID-19 Three tests a week helps find COVID-19 early, so you can keep your family and community healthy Together, we can reduce COVID-19 spread right here where we live, work, learn, and play. At 12:30 on Thursday, June 3rd, “Extra! Extra! Read All About It!”-- will be the chant of Boys Prep students dressed as 1920’s newsies (Newspaper boys) as they hand out an educational news- paper on both ends of the Wal- nut Street bridge. Inside will be pictures and information about several historical events from Black Wall Street, Ed Johnson, and Juneteenth, to the Big Nine (MLK in Chatta- nooga) and the businesses that lined that street. This comes a part of a month-long Juneteenth In- dependence Day celebration presented by the 4th Annual Chattanooga Festival pf Black Arts & Ideas: Juneteenth In- dependence Day. The multi- disciplinary festival aims to spotlight emerging and es- tablished local Black artists and build greater community awareness of the diversity of Black arts within Chattanooga and Hamilton County, says festival founder and CEO Ri- cardo “Ric” Morris. The event will also provide opportuni- ties for discussions on topics that connect Black arts to oth- er areas of the life of the com- munity.
