Cengage Learning For Students

Introduction

For convenience, students can use the MindTap Mobile App to access their MindTap courses on

Android phones. Use it to view Activity statuses and details, review Flashcards or take practice

Quizzes.

In this release, Mobile MindTap works on Droid 4.0 and greater. MindTap Mobile is available for

Droids and iPhones.

You cannot access MindTap Mobile if your institution uses a Learning Management System.

This document is intended for ITS and DSC who help students use the MindTap Mobile App.

Logging into MindTap Mobile

Use the following procedure to log in to Mobile MindTap:

SStteepp AAccttiioonn

1 Download the MindTap Mobile from the Play Store.

Result: The MindTap Mobile App downloads.

2 Open Mobile MindTap on your Droid.

Result: The Mobile MindTap App displays.

3 Enter username and password.

Tap Log In.

Result: The License Agreement displays.



SStteepp AAccttiioonn

4 Tap Accept.

Result: A confirmation message displays.

NOTE: Students accept the License Agreement only on the first login.

5 Tap Agree to confirm.

Result: The Assistant page of the MindTap course displays.



Navigating MindTap Mobile

Tap the list menu icon to navigate MindTap Mobile. The following table explains what students

can view on each page.

View a list of courses. Tap to navigate to the Courses page.

Notifications Page

Mobile MindTap displays several different type notifications:

Instructor Messages: Instructor messages display in courses that have the Message

Center App.

Cengage Announcements: Announcements posted in MindTap.

Due Date Changes: Changes to Activity due dates.

Activity Score Changes: Changes to Activity scores.

Instructor Comments: Instructors post comments to students’ Activity submissions.

This table shows users the actions they can take from the Notifications tab:

View the notification.




Delete the notification.

Return to the Notifications tab.



Activity List Page

View your Activity status and scores from the Activity List page.

IMPORTANT: Activities with no due dates do not display in the MindTap Mobile App.

Swipe to navigate Weeks.

View Activity Status icon.

Flashcards Page

Enter a course to access Flashcards. Review key terms using default or custom Flashcards:


Reveal definition.

Hide Flashcards from the deck.




Swipe to navigate Flashcards.

Add Flashcard.




Create Flashcard.

Edit Custom Flashcards




Access additional options.

View back of Flashcards.




Show learned Flashcards.

Shuffle the Flashcard deck.



Quizzes Page

View a course to access Practice Quizzes. Prepare for exams by creating or taking practices

quizzes based on key terms:


Tap an answer. Correct answers display in green.

View the question number you are taking.




Resume quizzes that you exited before finishing.

View your overall score when you finish the Practice Quiz.



Settings Page

Stay up to date on assignments by customizing Due Date Reminders and Activity Notifications.

Review the License Agreement from the Settings page.


Tap settings to update Notifications.

Set the changes that get sent to your phone.

Use MindTap Mobile to access study material in their MindTap courses from their phones. View

upcoming assignments, notifications and use Flashcards and Quizzes to prepare for exams.
