PurposeThe purpose of the Student Activities

Committee is to provide undergraduate and graduate students who have an interest in the IEEE Designated Fields or related professions with opportunities for educational, technical, and professional development, emphasizing the value of continuing IEEE membership.

• Can be a reformatting of a previous paper or project

•This contest showcases IEEE student branch activities and recognizes the skills of the student branch in web design and programming.

•Recognizes students who develop unique solutions to real-world problems using engineering, science, computing and leadership skills to benefit their community, the world at large, or both.

What Section/Chapters can do to support of Student Branches

Invite the Student Branches to their technical meetings (transportation help?). Provide speakers to SBs to promote IEEE. Contact EE & ECET Departments to request they promote IEEE to their students. Announce events to local schools with IEEE Student Branches.

What Should Student Branches do:

Invite Section officers to attend university/college eventsAsk local Sections or Society Chapters if they can host an ExCom meetings at your school.          Work with Sections to do STEP Activities Request plant tours from local industry (through IEEE section and local chapters)Work with Sections to do a Mentorship Event
