Scene Requirements
1. Scene should be realistic and believable2. Scene structured (know conflict details) but NOT scripted
(improvising makes the conflict seem real)3. Moment of decision leaves the audience wanting something
different4. Protagonist- “good guy” , must lose (audience identifies)5. Antagonist- “bad guy”, must win (must have legitimate
reasons, not just a bad person)6. Clear relationships, intentions, circumstances, conflict7. Clear idea of what protagonist wanted8. Each person must have something important to lose/gain9. Protagonist has inner challenges (self-defeating thoughts
and feelings, conflicting desires, inner voices)
Example of Lead Facilitation Plan:Goals of session #2• To help group put terms into action• To help group consider how ‘others’ play a role in their lives• To begin giving examples of self-disclosure• To have residents complete and fulfill their personal goals for the
session
Plan of session #2• Check In- Discuss what we accomplished last week in session #1 and
ask what everyone would like to get out of this program• Handouts- Goal worksheet and definition of terms that we will use• Ice Breakers-Upset Game and Tap Game• Small Groups- Create incomplete dialogues in small groups
Transition• Art Creations including self-disclosure and story telling
Closing• Discuss in large group goal sheet and what everyone did to achieve
their personal goal
