Student Profiles 2019-20 Paul Andrzejczak – MRED (Full-time) Since 2013, Paul has worked as an architectural designer and job captain at Gensler Los Angeles. During his time at Gensler, Paul has lead project teams through all phases of the design process. His key roles included - market analysis, entitlements and approvals, feasibility studies, consultant coordination, contract negotiations, business development, construction documentation and construction administration. Through his advanced knowledge and expertise in construction and design, Paul has completed multiple projects ranging from 50,000 SF to 600,000 SF in the commercial and creative office, mixed use and multi-family residential practice areas. Additionally, while at Gensler, Paul received a research grant to study the application of building materials and construction methods. His published research evolved into an adjunct teaching position at his alma mater, SCI-Arc. Paul earned a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree, with honors, from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in 2013. Shy Assar – MRED (Part-time, Third-year) Shortly after earning his MBA from Babson College in May of 2014, Shy interned as an Acquisition Analyst at BKM Capital Partners (Newport Beach), a private equity group specializing in acquiring value-add multi-tenant industrial parks in the western US. In October of 2014 Shy transitioned into brokerage working with Voit Real Estate Services. He pursued local industrial brokerage in the Inland Empire. Shy has gained exposure to tenant demand, market migration, buyer and seller representation, investment transactions, and, most importantly, development opportunities. Shy has sourced and transacted on each of the aforementioned transaction types. His time in the Inland Empire has allowed him to develop expertise in a geographic region and property type as well as acquire transactional experience with the various types of tenants, users, sellers, and both private and institutional investors & developers competing in the industry. Madison Baker – MBA/MRED (Full-time, Second-year) Prior to attending USC, Madison worked for four years as an architect and project designer at DLR Group in the Los Angeles and Dubai offices. Madison has a range of experience in design and planning for different project types, but primarily contributed to the designs for large-scale commercial and mixed-use projects. In addition, Madison has a great amount of international work experience, having lived and worked in Dubai for a year and a half as an integral part of the team to start DLR Group’s Dubai office. While in Dubai, she also worked as a project manager, coordinating and managing project delivery on various projects in the Middle East region. Madison received a B.Arch and M.Arch from Tulane University in 2014. Davis Bittner – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, Davis worked for Xebec, a national industrial real estate platform that develops and manages infill last mile, bulk logistics, and light industrial properties. During his two years at Xebec, Davis gained diverse real estate experience having worked on projects with the acquisitions, asset management, and capital markets teams. He participated in underwriting, analyzing and conducting due diligence on potential deals, managed both stabilized and under development assets, and produced investment teasers and PPMs for capital raises. Additionally, he served as the Development Manager for a $45 million renovation project in the San Fernando Valley. Davis received his BA in Managerial Finance and Real Estate from the University of Mississippi.

Paul Andrzejczak – MRED (Full-time) Since 2013, Paul has worked as an architectural designer and job captain at Gensler Los Angeles. Steven Bohbot – MRED (Part-time, Second-year) After graduating from the USC in May of 2009 with a BS in Policy, Planning, Development (Real Estate Development track), Steven immersed himself in the world of construction and development beginning with overseeing and assisting in the construction of over 400 units in New York City. After a few years in New York and starting a new family, Steven returned to his roots in Los Angeles and took the helm of his family's real estate business, The Standard Oil Investment Group. With a keen eye for growth and development, Steven has been the general contractor for a handful of projects valuing over $30 million in hard construction costs as well as the broker and manager for over $100 million worth of real estate transactions. Steven has also spear headed the acquisition, construction, leasing and disposition of over 415,000 square feet and over $285 million of residential, commercial, and

industrial properties. Josh Brodsky – MBA/MRED (Part-time, Second-year) Prior to and while attending USC, Josh has worked in the asset management division of American Realty Advisors, an institutional capital manager with over $8 billion under management. As an associate Josh handles assets owned by both Core and Value-Add, open-ended commingled funds, as well as for the separate account clients of ARA. His current portfolio comprises over 2.5 million square feet of retail, industrial, and office assets within Denver, Texas, Northern California, Chicago, and the Mid-Atlantic. Josh’s main responsibilities include overseeing the property management, leasing, and construction teams as well as performing quarterly valuations, crafting annual business plans, and working with acquisitions to help underwrite potential deals in markets he covers. Josh graduated with a BA in Geography from UCLA in 2015 and is an active member in NAIOP and ICSC.

Clem Butler – MRED (Part-time, Second-year) Since 2015, Clement (“Clem”) has been a key member of the asset management and acquisition teams at CS Capital Management, Inc. (“CSCM”), an SEC Registered Investment Advisor, specializing in institutional real estate investment management and advisory services. His asset management responsibilities for CSCM’s $1+ billion of real estate AUM primarily include managing CSCM’s property managers, accounting teams, and client reporting for a large separate account on behalf of a sovereign wealth fund. As a member of the acquisitions team, Clem spearheads the underwriting and due diligence process for nationwide opportunities in the office, industrial, and multifamily sectors. Clem also directly supports the CEO for advisory services provided to Taft-Hartley pension plans, including portfolio management, strategy formation, and investment manager

oversight, with direct reporting to the clients’ Board of Trustees. Clem began his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in an investment banking group, and followed that as an operations manager for McMaster-Carr. Clem received his BA in Economics from Davidson College in 2012. Brian Carey – MRED (Full-time) Driven by a lifelong desire to shape the world through bold and innovative structures, Brian Carey has studied real estate and urban development for many years. While working for several companies, Brian empowered real estate organizations by leveraging project management experience in design, entitlements, construction, tenant coordination, leasing, facilities management, and business administration. After graduating Suffolk University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Brian began his career by coordinating the property management of 25 retail stores and 600k square feet of Class-A office space in Boston, Massachusetts. He later earned a Certificate in Real Estate Studies from Boston University before relocating to California to work for TRC Retail in Newport Beach. While working as a Senior Project Coordinator at TRC, Brian managed the design, entitlement, permitting, and construction phases of four major commercial renovations, three residential projects, and one mixed-use development.

Cyrus Chini – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, Cyrus spent four years at REZA Investment Group, a boutique retail investment sales brokerage with a multibillion-dollar track record. Cyrus was a VP advising both institutional and private clients on retail asset acquisitions and dispositions. Before REZA, Cyrus spent nine years serving as a client manager at Mercer, an international consulting firm. During his tenure, he led business development efforts for both the LA and London markets, working with dozens of F500 companies. While in London, Cyrus realized his love of placemaking in urban environments and thus decided to shift into CRE. His mission is to help LA become more community-focused, connected, and vibrant through experiential retail and mixed-use developments. Cyrus is the LA Chair for ICSC Next Generation and the former VP of the USC Alumni Club of LA. He is a member of ULI and holds a BS

in Finance from USC (2007). Catherine Creech – MRED (Full-time) With over 8 years of architectural experience, Catherine has worked on numerous high-rise mixed-use, multifamily, and hospitality projects throughout California. A licensed architect in California, Catherine has worked for international architecture firms including Steinberg Hart and Arquitectonica. With a depth of experience spanning all phases of project delivery, from yield studies and concept design through project permitting and on-site construction administration, Catherine thrives on complex and challenging projects. Most recently she served as the Project Architect on a 200,000 SF luxury boutique hotel in Hollywood and a 600,000 SF multifamily project in San Francisco. Catherine earned a Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) magna cum laude from the University of Southern California in 2011.

Rocco Curci – MRED (Full-time) A highly driven, passionate, and unique individual, who lives for challenges, strives for excellence with dogged determination, and recognizes the difference between success and failure as simply making the decision to persist. These qualities, in conjunction with his nearly 10 years of practical experience in construction, undergraduate training in finance at California State University, Sacramento, past role in corporate finance at Oracle Corporation, and voracious appetite for learning have allowed Rocco to accelerate his career as a commercial real estate broker exceptionally fast – having independently closed over $32M in investment sale transactions in 2018. His goals for the future include leveraging the opportunity to engage with real estate on a scholarly level within the USC MRED program to transition to the principal side of the business and integrate his experiences in

construction, finance, and commercial real estate brokerage by one day founding a real estate private equity and development firm. Caleb J. Danielson – MBA/MRED (Part-time, Second-year) In early 2019, Caleb was named head of The Salvation Army’s real estate division, a role that oversees the global non-profit’s real estate operations in nine counties across Southern California. Together with his small team, Caleb is responsible for sales and acquisitions, major capital renovations and development projects, and the deferred maintenance of a property portfolio of just over 200 properties which house The Salvation Army programs to serve suffering humanity. Amongst his most recent achievements is a 64-unit permanent supportive housing development project in Bell, CA for homeless veterans which Caleb led from pre-development to completion. Currently, Caleb is proud to be in pre-development for an $80M permanent supportive housing project that will house over 600 homeless individuals and families in Anaheim, CA. Caleb received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 2014.

Joseph Davison – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, Joseph was Assistant Project Manager in the Construction Management department at Shea Properties, one of the largest family owned commercial real estate developers in California. As Assistant Project Manager, Joseph specialized in ground up Multifamily construction, overseeing the design, permitting and construction of over $200M in mixed use developments. In total Joseph managed construction of 692 apartments and 150,000SF of retail space. Joseph graduated from Boston College in 2015, majoring in Communications.

Danalynn Dominguez – MRED (Part-time, First-year) Danalynn is currently a City Planning Associate for the City of Los Angeles’ Department of City Planning. She is experienced in the approval process and project management from single family projects to multi-story skyscrapers. Her current role is to enforce conditions of approval resulting from City Planning Commission and City Council actions for large-scale projects throughout the City. One of her current projects includes 100 Grand Avenue across the Walt Disney Concert Hall which will be composed of about 400 condominiums, 300 hotel rooms and 300,000 sq. ft. of commercial space. Danalynn received her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Brown University.

Gabriela Erazo – MRED (Part-time, First-year) Gabriela is a New York State licensed architect with over 10 years of experience in educational and commercial projects. She has worked as a project manager in New York and California with experience in all phases of design from feasibility studies to construction administration. Gabriela championed the design efforts on the 73,000 S.F., gold LEED certified Athletic Center for The Masters School in New York with a budget of $25 million; and the award winning 108,000 S.F. 12-story Middle School Building for The Trevor School in New York with a budget of $60 million. She has managed and received state approval in over 6 new school construction projects and renovations throughout Los Angeles and Ventura County. Gabriela is a member of The American Institute of Architects (AIA). She received her Bachelors of Architecture with honors from The City College of New York in 2008.

Jordan Fuller – MBA/MRED (Part-time, Second-year) Prior to, and while attending USC, Jordan Fuller worked in multifamily real estate development as a project manager for Fuller Apartment Homes, Inc. and Presidio Capital Partners. These affiliated firms specialize in developing and financing Class A ground up multifamily developments in targeted infill locations along the Central Coast and in the Central Valley of California. As a project manager, Jordan is currently managing the development of three large infill apartment communities through the entire development cycle, from entitlement to construction and lease up. Jordan also has an affinity for design and has assisted in the design development and interior programming of multiple apartment communities. Jordan graduated with a BA in International Development Studies from UCLA in 2014.

Adam C. Karaczynski – MBA/MRED (Full-time, First-year) Adam was a Senior Analyst for JLL in New York City, providing real estate advisory services to the United States Postal Service. He executed leases, acquisitions, dispositions, and property valuations including the leasing of 1,000,000+ sf of new space and the acquisition of a 105K office building. Previously, Adam was a Development Advisory Analyst at JLL, performing comprehensive real estate services for a wide range of public sector clients. Projects ranged from financial feasibility and phased development strategy recommendations for a Tax Increment Finance project in Medellin, Colombia to Landlord Representation Services on the redevelopment of Springfield Union Station in Massachusetts. Before JLL, Adam worked at J.P. Morgan in Oversight & Controls for its Corporate & Investment Bank. In 2013, Adam earned his Bachelor of Business Administration at the Stephen M.

Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Cyrus Kashfian – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, Cyrus was Vice President at Hospitality Resorts Inc., a private real estate investment company based in Santa Monica, California. His primary responsibilities included acquisitions, dispositions, redevelopment and the management of an $80 million portfolio of multi-family, retail, and hospitality assets in California and New York. Prior to working at Hospitality Resorts, Cyrus was a retail investment sales broker at Greysteel and Neuman Commercial Group in the Washington, DC area where his team sold $150 million in retail assets in the Mid-Atlantic region. Cyrus earned a degree in Environmental Science from the University of California Riverside in 2012.

Kiran Koneru – MBA/MRED (Part-time, First-year) Prior to attending USC, Kiran has been working as a Real Estate Principal and Asset Manager with Income Property Investments, overseeing operations and acquisitions/dispositions in its portfolio consisting of hotels and apartments. Kiran’s experience includes taking part in the acquisition of 17 Motel 6’s, which all closed escrow on the same day, which was the largest single day escrow closing in G6 Hospitality history (subsidiary of the Blackstone Group). Kiran has also taken part is the selling of 15+ hotels which were later exchanged into more than $75 million dollars of Affordable Housing across 10 states. Other certifications that Kiran holds are Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), Certified Hotel Owner (CHO), Certified Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA), National Compliance Professional-Executive (NCP), and Real Estate Broker. Kiran holds BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from San Francisco State University and graduated in 2015.

Jason Lopata – MRED (Full-time) Prior to beginning at USC, Jason worked as a land use consultant with Craig Lawson & Co., LLC, representing development projects as they sought entitlements in the City of Los Angeles. His primary responsibilities included performing zoning research, formulating entitlement strategies, and managing project team efforts toward securing project entitlements. Jason also writes articles evaluating LA’s evolving real estate landscape on the site Urbanize.LA. He serves as a Southern California Regional Director for Stanford Professionals in Real Estate (SPIRE), he is a board member of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Young Leaders Group, and he is a member of ULI LA’s Housing Council. Jason earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Stanford University in 2017, authoring his senior thesis on Downtown LA’s revival over the past 20 years.

John Marciante – MPL/MRED (Full-time, Second-year) Prior to attending USC, John worked as an architect and project manager in New York and New Jersey in all phases of the construction process. His responsibilities have included designing, documenting, and overseeing construction administration of corporate interior architecture while representing and interfacing with clients. In addition, he has provided code and design consultation on retail, hospitality and ground-up residential projects. As a design consultant, John contributed design guideline language for municipalities and redevelopment projects, including the winner of New Jersey Planning Officials’ Achievements in Planning Award. Currently, he interns in the Development Services at the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles. John holds an architecture license in New York and received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Pennsylvania State University in 2009.

Sean McGarry – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending the University of Southern California, Sean worked as an analyst at New West Company, a boutique real estate development firm in Las Vegas, Nevada. During his three years at New West Company, Sean had multiple roles in the organization. The first portion of Sean’s time at New West was spent analyzing investment and development opportunities in the Southwest United States. Once New West Company acquired an asset in Point Richmond, California, Sean switched his attention to the development of this project. “The Quarry” is an 18.4-acre multi-family residential project located in the Richmond Marina. The project is approved for up to 200 multi-family units and start of construction will be mid-2019. Sean received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Arizona in 2016.

Eric Melendez-Lluch, CFA – MRED (Part-time, First-year) Eric joined Mirae Asset Securities & Investments (“MASI”) as a Vice President in April 2018 to help launch Mirae Asset’s U.S. Investment Banking platform. His primary responsibilities include business development, deal sourcing, deal execution, underwriting, and creating structured financial products with associated syndication duties. Prior to joining MASI, Eric worked in Cushman & Wakefield’s hotel capital markets team focused on arranging investment sales and structured financing transactions. Eric started his career in PwC’s Banking Capital Markets Assurance group. Eric graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a dual degree in Accounting and Financing, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA – inactive). Eric is currently enrolled in USC’s part-time Masters in Real Estate Development program.

Robert Mendoza – MRED (Full-time) Prior to USC, Robert was a project manager at REI Management, a hospitality company that develops and operates hotels, wineries, and restaurants. He helped manage several real estate development projects: the design and entitlement of a multi-hotel and restaurant parcel; the expansion of a boutique hotel from 60 rooms to 90 rooms; the construction of a 30,000 sq.ft. California winery and tasting room; and the acquisition, design, permitting, and expansion of an Oregon winery with an 80-acre vineyard. Prior to working for REI Management, Robert completed a leadership rotation program at AT&T, with managerial experience in their corporate, retail, and construction and engineering departments. Robert received his bachelor’s degree in International Relations Global Business from USC in 2011. He obtained a certificate in Construction Project Management from the University of

Florida in 2018 and has held a California real estate sales license since 2014. Aline Mora Diaz – MRED (Part-time, First-year) Since 2017, Aline has been a member of the USC Real Estate and Asset Management team. She currently serves as a Project Specialist managing the University’s leasing portfolio for Cellular Sites and Distributed Antenna Systems, as well as mineral interests across the country. Aline has been involved in the management and execution of high-level development projects for the University and has taken a key role in managing and marketing for the 1.25 million square foot residential and retail project, USC Village. She also assists University departments in securing leased space throughout California and beyond. Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Aline was one of three pioneers who established a successful new branch of Capital Title of Texas in Fort Worth. She was the company’s bilingual closer, escrow officer assistant and business development specialist. Aline graduated with a B.A. in International Marketing from Texas Christian University in 2010.

Julian Nan – MRED (Part-time, Second-year) Julian is the Director of Land Acquisition for Shea Homes, a national residential home builder and developer. Since 2013, he has been responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and negotiating land transactions in Southern California, and more recently became involved in entitling undeveloped land or repurposing existing commercial centers for residential use. During this time, he was responsible for the acquisition of 568 lots totaling $126.8 million in Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties. These acquisitions varied in structure from cash purchases, seller financing, staged takedowns, fee builds, and joint ventures. Julian received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, Real Estate, and Law from California Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2012.

David Nazarian – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, David worked in Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) as an underwriter for Rialto Mortgage Finance (RMF). Since joining the firm in 2015, David assisted in closing over $600M of fixed-rate financing for all property types including multifamily, retail, hotel, office, and self-storage. David’s responsibilities included financial modeling, drafting and analyzing loan proposals, performing credit underwriting/due diligence, communicating with b-piece investors and facilitating the securitization process post-closing. Before joining Rialto, David served as a summer analyst with The Lightstone Group in New York City. David graduated from USC’s Price School of Public Policy in 2015 with a B.S. in Policy, Planning, and Development (Real Estate Development track). Through the MRED program, David seeks to broaden his understanding of the residential and commercial sectors along with translating this knowledge into projects that will improve the lives of Angelinos in the urban core.

Matt Nestor – MBA/MRED (Full-time, Second-year) Prior to attending USC, Matt worked in San Francisco as Vice President at Faller Real Estate, a boutique commercial brokerage firm. In that capacity, he negotiated nearly 500,000 square feet of office and life science leases on behalf of a range of clients, including Pearson Education, Sunset Magazine, and Audentes Therapeutics. Matt started his career at Buckingham Partners, a luxury townhome developer with projects in the New York metro area. Matt is currently the Vice President of Industry Outreach for USC’s Graduate Real Estate Association (GREA) and an active member of the Urban Land Institute. Matt received his BS in Economics from Trinity College (CT) in 2012.

Tyler Nordlund – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, Tyler was a senior financial analyst at Lyon Living (Newport Beach), a multifamily developer and operator. As part of Lyon’s capital/finance team, Tyler was involved with the acquisition, disposition, recapitalization, and refinancing of various assets in Lyon’s portfolio, as well as a number of large multifamily and mixed-use developments. Prior to his role at Lyon, Tyler worked for two years for a commercial lender specializing in hospitality development loans. Tyler is also managing partner of a small real estate investment partnership which owns several commercial assets in Minneapolis, Atlanta, and Chicago, and has personally invested in several real estate assets. He is a member of ULI Orange County, and the Apartment Association of Orange County. Tyler received his BA in Business/Economics from Westmont College in 2013.

Ben Noury – MPL/MRED (Full-time, Second-year) Currently, Ben is a Dean Merit Scholar and Master of Planning candidate studying economic development while working for Three6ixty, an innovative land use consultancy helping developers big and small navigate the complex and arcane land use laws in Los Angeles. Ben works daily with land use and financial feasibility on a myriad of development projects from TOC filings to by-right projects in Los Angeles County. Prior to USC, Ben worked as the Director of Education Services for the National Association of Credit Management where he created national and international certifications programs structured around qualitative and quantitative credit analysis of public and private companies. Ben received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Brown University in 2013 where he also played four years of varsity football.

Mishal Patel – MRED (Full-time) Mishal has been working full time in the commercial real estate industry since 2012 with the previous 5 years in lending. As an analyst at The Alison Company, he underwrote and packaged over 100 conventional loans for life insurance companies, banks, and credit unions. Mishal then transitioned to BOLOUR Associates to work as a loan originator. His responsibilities included managing broker relationships, preliminary sizing of new opportunities, negotiating soft quotes and LOIs, establishing marketing plans, and creating data tracking procedures. During his time as a loan originator, Mishal sourced more than $150M in loans for unentitled land sites and value add projects. Mishal received his Bachelors of Science in Finance-Real Estate from Indiana University.

John Pellarin – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, John spent five years working within his family-owned development company located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The firm specializes in revitalizing and repositioning opportunistic commercial real estate. In his capacity as an analyst, John had the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a variety of projects, including the redevelopment of a 98,000 square foot retail center, the acquisition of over 75,000 square feet of office space, as well as, the acquisition and redevelopment of a 700-slip recreational marina located in the California Delta. John received his undergraduate degree in economics from Whittier College in 2014.

Richard Phillips – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, Richard was a key member of the development team at Gerrity Group, LLC a private equity real estate investment company based in Solana Beach, CA. Richard’s duties included overseeing the design process, value engineering, entitlement, budgeting, and execution of various repositioning projects in the western US. Key projects include overseeing the complete development process for the repositioning of a 78,970 SF retail center in Mission Viejo, California and targeted improvements to a 488,856 SF retail center in Cerritos, CA. Prior to his current role, Richard worked with the transactions team at Pacifica Companies, a privately held real estate investment company, where he helped complete over $1B in acquisitions, dispositions, and financing. Richard received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Chapman University in 2011.

Phuoc Quach – MBA/MRED (Part-time, Third-year) Since 2014, Phuoc has worked as a Senior Credit Analyst at Mutual of Omaha Bank. He has experience underwriting all classes of CRE loans (multifamily, office, industrial, retail). He works collaboratively with Bankers to manage a portfolio of loans that exceeds $500MM in value. Phuoc has underwritten approximately $270MM of CRE loans; these transactions included construction projects as well as stabilized assets. He is also involved in managing underperforming properties to maximize the probability of full collection. In this role, he was responsible for creating two cash flow models (student and senior housing) that incorporates future lease-up and cash flow projections and compares them with existing operating activities. Prior to this, Phuoc worked as a Credit Analyst at The Walt Disney Company. In this role, he was responsible for conducting financial evaluations of Disney customers

to approve/deny the extension of credit. While at Disney, he led two automation projects to strengthen data integrity and reduce tedious tasks. The successful implementation of the automation tools saved approximately 200 labor hours, annually. Phuoc received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing at California State University, Long Beach in 2010.

David Shadpour – MRED (Part-time, First-year) David is a preconstruction manager at Lendlease, an Australian headquartered multinational construction and development company. Prior to entering the workforce, David completed his undergraduate education at USC in 2015 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He then joined one of the largest MEP design firms in San Diego, SC Engineers, with a focus on large residential and healthcare projects. In 2017, David joined Lendlease as a project manager on the >$1.5B Oceanwide Plaza mixed-use project in DTLA and managed over $40M of subcontractor work before transitioning into the preconstruction department. David looks forward to utilizing his diverse knowledge and background of the building process to lead the development of successful projects in his future. In addition to his professional experience, David has various extracurricular achievements

including becoming a LEED AP, receiving his Professional Engineering license, and giving a TED Talk on “Buildings of the Future”. Christopher Swieca – MRED (Part-time, First-year) Christopher began his career with CBRE Ontario working as a retail leasing specialist in the Inland Empire and Orange County. Working as an Associate, Christopher worked on a team focusing in landlord representation by negotiating and securing leases for ground up shopping centers and existing shopping centers 100,000 SF and above. In 2018, Christopher joined Irvine based Sentinel Real Estate Group, a full-service development company working on ground-up as well as redevelopment projects. Amongst others, Christopher’s responsibilities include construction and asset management, assisting in financial analytics, lease negotiations, due diligence and disposition. Christopher earned a B.A. in Business Economics with a Minor in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine in 2015. He was also a 4-year member of the Division 1 Water Polo team.

Michael Tessler – MRED (Part-time, Second-year) Michael founded Responsive Homes, a real estate development company, to confront and reverse the negative ecological impacts of buildings in Los Angeles. Responsive Homes builds for the region’s Mediterranean climate with site specific attention to building orientation, window placement, material usage, color and form to reduce both environmental footprints and cost for occupants. A prototype house in Northeast Los Angeles was completed in 2018. With 9 years of experience in brokerage and single family development, Michael’s passion has shifted to the construction of mixed-use, mixed-income projects that intersect real estate, ecology, building science, urban planning and social justice. Michael received his Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Linguistics from UCLA in 2009 and completed the Ross Program at USC in Winter 2016.

Christopher Toronto – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, Chris has been working as the Director of Acquisitions for Vineyards Management Group, a mobile home park operator headquartered in Salt Lake, Utah. Chris conducted the primary due diligence on the acquisition of 21 mobile home communities with a market value of over $73 Million over a 6-month span. Before Vineyards, Chris oversaw commercial property management for Colmena Group, a private equity and real estate development firm with projects throughout the intermountain west. He managed over 180,000 square feet of a mixed-use development, including parking structure, retail, office and industrial. He specializes in relationship management, having revitalized and strengthened relationships with tenants under management. Chris received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management – Finance from Brigham Young University Hawaii in 2015.

Spencer Tsai – MBA/MRED (Part-time, Second-year) Since 2014, Spencer has been working for Greatland Development, a real estate investment firm, mostly involved with raising funds from oversea investors and investing in real estate in Southern California. Spencer has been assistant project manager for several custom beachfront properties total value over $50 million, responsible for everything from dealing with municipal permitting, negotiating contracts and day to day activities at building sites. Having been promoted to project manager he is currently working on two custom 10,000+ sq. foot properties in a private golf community. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with architects, engineers and contractors, negotiating and budgeting for all proposals and contracts and disbursement of funds. Spencer received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2014.

Barry Wilkins – MPL/MRED (Part-time, Third-year) Barry graduated from USC Price’s School of Public Policy in 2014 with a B.S. in Policy, Planning, and Development (Real Estate Development track) and a minor in Architecture Studies. Soon after graduating, Barry joined Hathaway Dinwiddie’s construction management team as Plan Room Coordinator for the USC Village, before being promoted into the role of Assistant Project Engineer. After 8 months on the project, Barry departed to work for Caruso Affiliated as Project Coordinator for Tenant Improvements. Since 2015, Barry has coordinated with Caruso’s Leasing, Development, Architecture, and Marketing teams on tenant build outs across the company’s properties, including The Grove, The Americana at Brand, and the Commons at Calabasas. In pursuing the MPL/MRED degree, Barry’s biggest goal is to improve socio-economic conditions through mixed-use P3 developments.

Cara Wright – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, Cara worked on the West Coast investments platform for CenterPoint Properties, a leading national investor in industrial real estate. During her time at CenterPoint, Cara worked on over $500 million in acquisitions totaling 4 million square feet throughout the Los Angeles, Oakland and Seattle industrial markets. Deals varied in product type and size, from 5 acre trailer yards to a 1,034,000 square foot distribution center. In addition to her acquisition duties, Cara also led business development efforts for the West Coast team. Cara graduated from Michigan State University in 2014 with a degree in Communications and specialization in Public Relations.

William (Hao Te) Yang – MRED (Part-time, First-year) Since 2016, William has been a Development Project Manager at TA Partners developing over 600+ Multi-family apartment units totaling 650,000+ square feet in Irvine, California. His duties include managing all aspects of acquisition, entitlement, design, permitting, general contractor bidding, and construction management. William also worked on a value-add, 115,000 square feet office building in Irvine by performing asset management duties including lease-up, TI, CMBS refinancing, CAM reconciliations, Cap Ex budgets and financial reporting. Besides working on commercial properties, William has sourced two luxury custom spec home deals totaling 10,000+ square feet in Newport Beach by securing equity funding and construction financing. Prior to his career in Real Estate, William worked as an Advisory Consultant for Ernst & Young from 2015 to 2016. William graduated from

University of California, San Diego in 2015 with a BS degree in Management Science. Danah Yoon – MRED (Full-time) Prior to USC, Danah worked at BMW Group Korea for five year as a retail standard manager. She managed over 80 construction projects from BMW and MINI showrooms and workshops to developing unique retail spaces such as the BMW MINI City Lounge. The projects represented a combined budget of approximately $250 million. Additional responsibilities included analyzing project feasibility, identifying potential constructions sites, monitoring and maintaining BMW properties, and performing annual audits. After BMW Group, Danah helped design and project manage the construction of a multi-use space: an art gallery and artist residency in Korea. Danah graduated in 2013 from Korea University with a Bachelor of Economics and Business Administration.

Siyao (Shirley) Zheng – MRED (Full-time) Prior to attending USC, Shirley was a project engineer for DPR Construction, a natural general contractor and construction management company specializing in technically challenging and environmentally complex projects. During her time in DPR Construction, she managed LEED Platinum projects ranging from total contract value of $100,000,000 to over $350,000,000. Project types ranged from commercial office building, public school and hospital, and tech campus. During her last project, she was project engineer for Workday Headquarter project located in Pleasanton, CA, a 450,000 square feet six story office building. Her primary responsibilities were interior scopes, where she tracked scopes' schedule, budget, and design and construction details. With the effort of entire construction

management team, her project is tracking NIBT of $20,000,000, exceeding 6% of overall contract value. Shirley received her BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering degree from UC Berkeley in 2015.
