Advisors will generate report(s) to view student’s progress toward meeting general education requirements and/or degree program requirements. Will use your University ID (UID) and PIN (Personal Identification Number) to access the secure area of Self Service Banner. Open Self Service Banner Navigate to CougarNet. From the Banner home page, www.siue.edu/beis , select Self Service Banner (for Faculty). o If University ID &/or PIN is not known, click on the University ID & PIN link and follow the instructions. o Close the window with the UID and PIN to return to the Banner home page. OR from the SIUE home page, www.siue.edu , click (CNet). Faculty/Advisor’s UID (800 number) and PIN are entered, not the student’s. Banner Enterprise Information System Home Page Select Enter CougarNet Secure Area. Key in University ID (800 number) in the User ID field. If University ID &/or PIN is not known, click on the University ID & PIN Lookup button and follow the instructions. Close the window with the UID and PIN to return to the CougarNet login page. Self Service Banner (for Faculty) will be used to view

CAPP. Advisors will generate report(s) to view student’s

progress toward meeting general education requirements

and/or degree program requirements. Will use your

University ID (UID) and PIN (Personal Identification

Number) to access the secure area of Self Service Banner.

Open Self Service Banner

Navigate to CougarNet.

From the Banner home page, www.siue.edu/beis,

select Self Service Banner (for Faculty).

o If University ID &/or PIN is not known, click on

the University ID & PIN link and follow the

instructions.

o Close the window with the UID and PIN to return

to the Banner home page.

OR from the SIUE home page, www.siue.edu, click

(CNet).

Faculty/Advisor’s UID (800 number) and PIN are

entered, not the student’s.

Banner Enterprise Information System Home Page

Select Enter CougarNet Secure Area.

Key in University ID (800 number) in the User ID field.

If University ID &/or PIN is not known, click on the University ID & PIN Lookup button and follow the instructions.

Close the window with the UID and PIN to return to the CougarNet login page.

Key in PIN in the PIN field.

If this is the first time to login to CougarNet, will be prompted to change PIN.

o Follow on-line instructions.

From the Main Menu, select Faculty and Advisors link.

Note: At anytime to start over, click the Faculty Services tab to return to

the Faculty Services Main Menu.

From the Faculty and Advisors menu, select Student Information Menu.

From the Student Information menu, select ID Selection.

From the drop down list, select the current term and click .

Select the student/advisee from the list (scroll bar will be available if

more names available than will fit in window).

Click to verify student/advisee selected.

Student Verification

If no student can be found for the UID or name

entered, click the button on the browser

window to return to the Student and Advisee Selection

window and verify information to enter.

From the Student Information menu, select Degree

Previous Evaluations

May review evaluations that have been previously run by student/advisee, other faculty or advisor or self.

Click the Previous Evaluations link.

Click on evaluation to review.

Previous evaluations may be deleted but only by the person that created the evaluation or by the system

(due to space limitations).

Check the box(s) of evaluations to delete.

Click .

Skip to Degree Evaluations Options section (pg 7).

Generate New Evaluation

Click on Generate New Evaluation link.

Select the button for Program.

Program/degree information defaults from most current information on student’s SGASTDN record.

If student is undeclared, will evaluate the General Education requirements only.

Select graduation term from Term drop down list.

Check box for Use In-Progress Courses if they are to be considered as met for the evaluation.

Click .

Skip to Degree Evaluations Options section (pg 7).

What-If Analysis

Use What-If Analysis to view evaluations for any other program/degree not shown in

Curriculum Information.

Select What-if Analysis link.

Step 1: Select catalog term or term in which major will be declared from the Entry

Term drop down list.

Click .

Previously selected criteria (i.e., Entry Term) will show on current screen view.

Step 3: Select major from First Major drop down list.

Campus is not required, leave at None.

Click to add a concentration or minor.

Step 4: Select concentration(s) from Concentration X (1, 2 or 3) drop down list.

Click if no more to add to degree evaluation.

OR: Continue to click to enter minors, 2nd

major, department, etc. and

then select from the drop down lists provided.

Click when no more to add to degree evaluation.

Select graduation term for the Evaluation Term drop down list.

Step number will vary according to the number of ‘Add More’ selections that were

completed.

Check box for Use In-Progress Courses if courses are to be considered as met for the

evaluation.

Click .
