    Over the next few weeks you are going to be carry out a personal inquiry on

    an aspect on WAR you would like to discover more about. You need to choose

    an aspect or question that you are quite passionate about so the process is

    interesting for you.

    You will be following the inquiry process by:

    Asking questions

    Retrievinginformation Processingthis information into your own words Presentingyour information to Sharewith others Evaluatingyour effort and achievement.

    Below is a chart that gives you information about what you MUST, SHOULD

    and COULD include in your project. Once you have completed your tasks youwill need to hand in your project for your teacher to mark by the given

    deadline.

    We expect every student to complete all the MUST tasks to the best of their

    ability. The additional tasks (SHOULDS and COULDS) are optional but your

    teacher will be discussing with you what they expect are suitable tasks foryou to extend yourself. The more effort you put in, the better chances of you

    achieving a higher grade!

    Over the next few weeks a number of lessons will be offered to you to assist

    you in completing a task. It is up to you to enrol in these lessons so you havea good understanding of what is expected. You will also have independent

    time where you can complete tasks without teacher support. It is also

    expected that you will be working on this project at home. It will be

    important that you manage your time wisely so you can meet your

    deadlines.

    In this booklet you will find detailed information about each element or task

    and there are also a few examples to help guide you.

    Lest We ForgetCompetition 2014

    As part of our First World War Centenary Programme,

    the Lest We Forget Poetry Competition gives you the

    opportunity to articulate your response to war, in poetry or

    prose. The theme for this year is Duty and Adventure. Using

    an historical or a contemporary lens, you can write about

    those who went offto fight, or those who were left behind.The competition also gives you, or a designated person, the

    chance to perform your work on Anzac Day in the Hall of

    Memories. Send your entries to the address below. Entries

    must arrive no later than Thursday 17 April 2014.
