Why Study?This suite of programmes(Step 1-3) makes provision forapplicants who aspire to gaina formal qualification inteaching and learning inHigher Education. In addition,it is for those who wish todevelop and enrich their ownteaching and learningpractices in the context ofContinuous ProfessionalDevelopment (CPD).

The Certificate in Teachingand Learning (Step 1 of theMA in Teaching & Learning) isaimed at those who do nothave a formal qualification inTeaching and Learning. It willprovide you with afoundational introduction toteaching and learningincluding student engagementstrategies, technologyenhanced learning skills,lesson planning, creation of ateaching portfolio and peerobservations.

The Postgraduate Diploma inTeaching & Learning (Step 2)is targeted at highereducation staff who havecompleted step one or similarT&L modules. ThePostgraduate Diploma allowsparticipants to specialise in arange of topics which theycan choose freely between.If participants plan toprogress to step 3, it isrequired the ResearchFoundation module is taken atdiploma stage.

The MA in Teaching and Learning (Step 3) is targeted atparticipants who have completed the Postgraduate Diploma inTeaching and Learning or provided evidence of recognisedprior learning at level 9 in teaching and learning development.At Step 3, participants will complete a minor Thesis inEducation Science.

MA in Teaching & Learning (Level 9, 90 ECTS):Three Step Process in gaining a professional teachingqualification in Higher Education.

Thesis inEducation(30 ECTS)

The learner completes the Thesis in Education Science module(30 ECTS). This is a minor research Thesis. The learner isassigned a supervisor and is supported by a suite of onlinelearning resources, structured research methods workshops andgroup-based reflective circle meetings.
