iPad App Log In

1. Enter your university email address and StudyTower password.

2. If you have forgotten your password, click the question mark button in the Password field.

The Forgot Password? screen appears:

3. Enter your school email address and click Reset.

A link is sent to your inbox allowing you to reset your password.

Note: Once you are logged in, you stay logged in until you actively log yourself out.

Navigation

Use the Navigation bar at the top of the screen to move around in StudyTower.

• Courses—Click this button to display a listing of your courses. You can then select a course to

display only the books for that course.

• Your Name—Click this button to display the My Account screen.

My Account

On this screen you can:

• Log out—If you choose this option, you will have to log back in the next time you open StudyTower. If you exit StudyTower without logging out, you will still be logged in the next time you open the application.

• Help—This option opens the Help and FAQs.

Setting Up Provider Credentials on Your iPad The various suppliers of digital content each have their own rules for logging in and using the materials they provide. In order to access these providers through StudyTower you must first set up your accounts with them. At present there are three primary materials providers:

• CafeScribe—This content opens within the StudyTower application.

• Inkling—Opens within a dedicated Inkling reader.

• Kobo—Opens in the Kobo reader.

Important: All of your login credentials for the various providers are provided by your university at the time of enrollment.

CafeScribe

The first time you attempt to use CafeScribe provided content you will be asked to login to your account. After this initial login you will not need to relogin.

• Enter your User Name and Password and click Log In.

Note: Your default user name is your school email address. Your CafeScribe password was provided in an email that was sent to you by the school at the time of registration.

Inkling

The first time you use Inkling, or after a log out, you will need to log in to you Inkling account with the credentials provided by the school.

If the Inkling reader has not been installed on your iPad, follow these steps.

1. From StudyTower, click the Inkling book you want to open.

The Book Details page appears.

2. Click Open Book in Inkling.

4. Click Install on the Inkling download page and follow the prompts.

5. Click Textbooks on the following screen and click Build My Library.

6. Log In on the following screen with your Inkling Log In credentials.

The Inkling reader is installed.

Note: Once you are logged in you remain logged in until you actively elect to log out.

Kobo

The first time you attempt to use Kobo, or after a log out, you will need to log in to your account with the credentials provided by the school.

If the Kobo reader has not been installed on your iPad, follow these steps.

1. From StudyTower, click the Kobo book you want to open.

The Book Details page appears.

2. Click Open Book in Kobo.

The following message appears:

4. Click Install on the Kobo download page and follow the prompts.

5. After the installation finishes, click Sign In on the following screen.

6. Log In on the following screen with your Kobo Log In credentials.

Note: Your default user name is your school email address. Your Kobo password was provided in an email that was sent to you by the school at the time of registration.

7. Click Continue.

The Kobo Shelf page opens.

Note: Once you are logged in you remain logged in until you actively elect to log out.

Web App Log In

1. To access StudyTower on the web, open a browser and enter the following url in the Address field:

www.studytower.com

2. Enter your university email address and StudyTower password and click Log in.

The All Books screen appears.

Forgot Password? 1. If you have forgotten your password, click the Forgot Password? link above the Password field.

The Forgot Password? screen appears:

2. Enter your school email address.

3. Click Reset Password.

A link is sent to your university email inbox allowing you to reset your password.

Shelf View After logging in, StudyTower displays the All Books tab.

Navigation

Use the Navigation bar and the Courses list to move around in StudyTower.

• Navigation Bar—You can return to the opening screen or access the My Account screen from here.

− Clicking this icon returns you to the log in screen.

− Clicking this icon presents you with three options:

My Account—Use this link when you want to change your password.

Help—Displays the FAQ page.

Logout—Exits StudyTower.

• Courses—Displays on the left side of the page. You can choose to display content for all of your courses or just the content for the course you want.

Change Password 1. Select your name on the right end of the Navigation Bar and click My Account.

2. Click the Change Study Tower Password button.

The Edit Password screen appears.

3. Fill in all the fields and click Change Password.

Your email address is automatically entered for you.

Setting Up Provider Credentials on the Web At present there are three primary materials providers:

• CafeScribe

• Inkling

• Kobo

All of your login credentials are provided by your university at the time of enrollment.

CafeScribe

CafeScribe content is accessed through the same log in ID and password you used to open StudyTower. No additional log in is required. When you click CafeScribe material a new window opens and your book opens.

Important: If you are using Safari as your browser, you must turn OFF your popup blocker before accessing CafeScribe titles.

Inkling 1. From StudyTower, click the Inkling book you want to open.

The Inkling Sign Up/Log In page appears.

2. If you have not created your Inkling Account, click Sign Up with Email.

-or-

Click Log in and enter your User ID and Password.

The book you have selected opens in a new window.

Kobo

The first time you attempt to use Kobo, or after a log out, you will need to log in to you Kobo account with the credentials provided by the school.

1. From StudyTower, click the Kobo book you want to open.

The Kobo home page appears.

2. If you were logged out, click the Sign In link.

The Sign In page appears.

3. Enter your User ID and Password.

4. Click Continue.

5. Click the Free Apps link on the home page.

6. Click the Kobo Instant Reader link and follow the set up instructions.

You can now return to StudyTower and open and read your Kobo material.

Kobo Offline Reader

Kobo has a downloadable Mac/PC Reader that works offline. However, StudyTower cannot launch the offline reader. You need to open the application directly on your computer.

You can synchronize any highlights with the online Kobo reader by pressing the Sync button either in a book or on the Shelf screen.

More Information You have the option of displaying additional information about a particular title by hovering your cursor over the book and clicking the icon that appears.

When you click the icon the Book Detail screen appears.
