WQ series submersible sewage pump, adopts the advantages of dometics and foreign products with comprehensive improvements
in hydraulic mould, mechnical structure, sealing, cooling, protection, control and etc. Our energy-saving products are effective in the
solid wastes and keeping the long fiber from winding with high efficiency and high reliability. With the special control panel, not only
the automatic control is achieved, but also the safety of motor is secured.
WQ series submersible sewage pump is mainly used in municipal engineering projects, buildings,industrial waste release and waste
water treatment, which can pump dirty water, waste water, rain water with solid and long fiber wastes.
1.Medium temperature
1.With special single or double flow channel impeller and wide pump body, it is most suitable for pumping the water for both with solid
and fiber wastes.
2.Tow separated single face mechnical seals are installed in serial inside, which helps to facilitate uneasy leakage and oil lubricated
compared with external style. Special spiral groove and fissure is designed to prevent solid deposits on the mechanical seal and keep the
pump operate stably. Special setting way of mechanical seal is combined with the bearings, making the shaft shorter mechanical seal is
combined with the bearing, making the shaft shorter arm, strong rigidity, less jumping, reducing the leakage of mechanical seal and elongating its life.
3. Motor with protection grade Ipx8 can work under water, making it best and most effective in cooling, F class insulation makes winding
work in higher temperature. It is more endurable than the common motors.
4. Consummate mixture of special electric control panel, liquid float ball switch and pump protection devices can automatically monitor4
and alarm for water leakage and overheat of winding, with power-off protection for short circuit, overload, lack of phase, voltage off and
accurate automation control for pump start, stop, alternation and submerging depth. It is no need to do the work manually. Auto-coupled
voltage reduced start and electronic soft start can be selected. All these can make you operate the pump safely, reliable and trouble-freely.
5. Motor and hydraulic parts share the common shaft without checking the rotating shaft, which makes it easy for dismantle, assemble
and maintenance on site, and can also reduce the time duration of the pump stop, making maintenance expenses more economical.
Compact structure makes it smaller, special crane handle makes it easy to hoist.
6. Five modes of installation: auto-coupled installation, hard-pipe movable installation, soft-pipe movable installation, fixed base-plate
installation and fixed dry installation can be selected flexible.
In auto-coupled installation, pump and discharge pipe are connected by discharge pipe head in between. Regular fasten parts are unnecessarily used.
Just simply move the pump along the guide rod up and down when connecting and disconnecting between them. It is very convenient, trouble free.
Submersible sewage pump of fixed dry installation can not only replace the old vertical sewage pump, but van also confront with the flood.
Thus, no extra fold control works are needed. That will contribute to reducing the construction cost.
Hard pipe movable installation, soft-pipe movable installation and fixed base-plate installation are all convenient installations.
7. The pump can be equipped with motor cooling system, which can not only cool the motor sufficiently, but also help lower liquid level of
the sewage tank so as to pump sewage liquid as maximum as possible.
8. There exists no basic problem of noise because the pump works under water, contributing to the environmental protection.

Pump Body Impeller
Pump body and impeller are well matched by the repeated modifications and designs with AutoACD technology. The passage way is
wider and the circulating ability for the sewage is best. The impeller is strictly balanced so as to reduce vibration to the minimum degree and

Specially designed submersible motor is in protection grade of IPX8 and insulation grade F for stator winding. The working temperature
limit of the insulation material is 155C. The over-heat protection device inside protects the motor through control panel.

Motor cooling system can be installed to cool the motor for those pumps exceeding 11kW. Cooling liquid flows between
stator shell and cooling sleeve. Cooling liquid can be either transferred by pump or connected with cold water outside. The
cooling channels are different because of these two kinds of methods. So, if the cooling system is needed, it must be
indicated what kind of method you want when you order. If the liquid is transferred by the pump, its structure may prevent
large-size solids from entering the cooling passage, and sediments inside the sleeve can be made after long period of time
of operation, but the sediments can be washed off by the washing liquid from the cooling sleeve with external matched
washer. Motor cooling system can lower the lowest water level and remove waste water in the tank to the greatest degree
possible.
Motors of over 11kW can also be equipped without motor cooling system and be cooled directly by pumped liquid instead
but liquid level will be higher than with motor cooling system.
Motors of 7.5kW less is cooled by liquid pumped through heat release board of the stator cover and liquid shall cover the stator as complete
as possible and at least half of it.
Mechanical seal of Shanghai Burgemann is adopted with low friction parameter of endurable material, rubber parts are oil tolerable,
and metal parts are of stainless steel, which can ensure trouble free operation more than 8000 hours.
Oil in the house can not only lubricate the mechanical seal but also carry away the bearing heat and avoid liquid leakage. Leakage
probe
inside can issue warning and stop the pump through control panel to remind operator of changing oil or repairing the mechanical seal
once the density of water to oil house leak through mechanical seal to a certain extent.
Oil-adding hole structure can increase oil adding speed and ensure that there is a certain amount of air inside the oil house and curb
pressure up inside to avoid excessive wear or leakage when oil temperature is rising up.

Cable and Seal
Cable applied is soft and sewage water tolerable with excellent mechanical strength and oil resistant ability. Cross section of cable
and capacity is selected in condition of 400C (regularly 250C) and long time continuous working. So it is safe and long life in usual
condition.
Cable gland extrudes the cable seal ring to seal the cable and wiring box reliably. Cable should be fixed to avoid to be pulled off. The
cable marked with color and number makes it easier to differentiate and connect. There are signs of ground wire and fastening bolts
for ground wire inside the wiring box of motor and control panel. It is safe and reliable for ground wire connecting.
“O” ring, cable seal and mechanical seal for every pump should be strictly inspected for seal test to ensure reliable sealing of motor
and wiring box while being installed.
Protection Device
Pump of 7.5kW and less is equipped with overheating protection device for motor winding and water leakage probe. Pump of 11kW and
above is equipped with overheating protection device for motor winding, floating ball switch and leakage probe. Pump of 30kW and
above is installed with one additional water leakage probe inside motor cover. It works when the protection devices are connected with
the electric control panel specially designed for the submersible sewage pump. Although our control panel for the submersible sewage
pump is optional for you, in order to ensure safe and reliable operation of your pump, especially to avoid the burning of motor, selecting
our special control panel is your wise choice. Please be sure to check with our engineers concerning technical issues of electronics,
especially for the protection device if the users apply there own control panel.
Instructions for each protection device
The Overheat Protector
The overheat protector is the electrical appliance controlled by temperature, installed inside the stator winding of motor. Under usual
operating conditions, when temperature of winding reaches the set point of the overheat protector, the overheat protector makes
“overheating” pilot lamp flash through control panel and stop the motor automatically. This reminds the operator for checking the
problem.
After the temperature drops, the motor will resume the start state.

Water Leakage Probe
Water leakage probe is used for water leakage test. The lead wire of the two cathodes
on the probe is connected to the control panel through the cable. When the water leaks
to the oil house through mechanical seal from motor side to certain extend, the two
cathodes on the probe will be conducted at once and send out alarming signal (the
pilot light is on) to control panel. The motor power is kept cutting off to prevent short
circuit by control panel. At the dame time operator is informed to inspect the
mechanical seal or replace the oil in the oil house in time.
The Float Switch
The float switch is used to test that if the mechanical seal on the motor side is useless or not
and if there is any water entering into the motor cavity. The float switch is located under the
motor cavity and in the cavity beside the bearing. The hole in the cavity leads to bearing
chamber. When the mechanical seal on the motor side is broken, as a result of that the oil or
water in the oil house enters the cavity through bearing chamber, or the water in motor
chamber enters the cavity, the float ball will rise, It will send our alarming signal (the pilot light
is on) and stop the pump automatically reminding the operator for repairing the pump.
Hoisting Device
The handle of pump is reasonable designed, which make hoisting convenient and safe.

Installation Mode
WQ series submersible sewage pump has Auto-coupled Installation (Z), Fixed Dry Installation (G), Fixed Baseplate Installation (P),
Soft Pipe Movable Installation (R), Hard Pipe Movable Installation (Y). All of these installation methods are simple and convenient.

Auto-coupled installation is actually to connect the pump and pipe. Auto-coupled device makes the pump and discharge pipe
separate without any need of regular fasten parts, so it is very easy to connect and disconnect the pump and discharge pipe.
Auto-coupled installation device only consists of discharge head, connecting rod, rod bracket and coupled bracket. Connecting
rod serves as guidance only and the water pipe or steel pipe can serve the purpose and be cut to fit the depth of the tank as
required. During the process of installation, when discharge head, connecting rod and rod bracket re ready, place auto-coupled
bracket on the pump body and hoist the pump, put the semicircle into the connecting rod, slip the pump down the connecting rod
to the bottom, auto-coupled bracket can hold the pump body and discharge head tight, and pump discharge and suction pipe are
fit, and flange end can fit well then. When repairing the pump, pump and discharge head will be disconnected when pump is
hoisted.
Because auto installation device and pump are comparatively separate, original auto-coupled device can still be used if you
need to change the pump of the same diameter but higher or lower lift.

The later two numbers of the impeller series number mean the serial number and the first number means motor pole. For example
"6" in 620 means 6 motor poles while "20" means the serial number. "10" in 1001 means 10 motor poles while "01" means the series
number. A and B represent the cutting impellers.

Performance curve & notes to main data
Bold parts in curve on Performance Curve Chart-1 show the recommended application scope of pump. Pump efficiency will be very low or
the motor will face the danger of overloading when the scope is exceeded. The shaft power of such pumps as showed on the chart will
rise up sharply as flow capacity increases. If flow capacity exceeds the limit on the right, shaft power will exceed the rated motor power.
Motor can not work for a long period of time when the medium temperature is too high or the motor has not been cooled enough.
For all submersible sewage pumps, shaft power will be far lower than the rated motor power if flow is below the limit on the left. The
efficiency of the unit is very low and it is not economical to have pumps work under such conditions.
The diameter of pumped solid stuff in the media should not be greater than the minimum size of flow channel. It is recommended that the
diameter of solid stuff shall be under 80% of the minimum size of flow channel. Take WQ2368-604 as shown above for an example,
diameter of solid stuff should not exceed 90mm.
The pump weight does not include such spare parts in various kinds of installations as auto-coupled set, suction bent joint pipe, base
plate, the connector of bent pipe and soft pipe, etc.

Performance curve chart
Shaft power of pump similar to WQ2175-415 as shown on Performance Curve Chart-2 will not increase anymore when the power is
increased to a certain extent. These pumps have no danger of overloading. The effect of overload is quite limited if it does a little by
chance. Therefore, the motor is safe when the pump is operating under the condition of any kind of flow. However, it is more economical
and efficient to make the pump operates in the recommended range.

On Performance Curve Chart-3, the thick curves represent the performance of the original model pump while the thin curves show the
performance of the impeller-trimmed pumps. For example, WQ2290-421 is the original model pump and WQ2290-421A is the
impeller-trimmed pump. The later can better meet some special needs and minimize or even eliminate the risk of motor overload.

INSTRUCTION FOR INSTALLATION (Dimensions which have nothing to do with the instruction are omitted for the purpose of clearness.)
These are the drawings and instructions for the auto-coupling installation and movable installation. (Take WQ2175-207 for an example.)
1.All the rod brackets can be fixed by expansion bolts M16x150 which can be ordered directly from our company. Function of rubber block
on the rod bracket: fasten the adjusting bolt on rubber block thus make the rubber block tighten the internal hole of rod bracket and make it
stable.
2.The length of connecting rod should be calculated according to the marked well depth. Please refer to the attached sheet 1 for the details
of connecting rod.
3.For all pumps of auto-coupled installation, the well bottom should be made flat, and height of discharge pipe may keep the height from
suction to well bottom enough to make pump have good suction conditions. Therefore, it’s no need to make additional convex part for the
discharge pipe in order to save the construction trouble.
4. indicates the lowest water level when the pump has no motor cooling system. Water level should be higher than the lowest water level
and immerse the pump as completely as possible to make the motor get cooled enough. The lowest water level can be controlled by the
float switch. The special control panels for sewage pumps supplied by our company are all water level controlling modes with certain float
switches.
5.For pumps in movable installation, soft pipe bent connector and bent pipe connector are provided by our company. Please refer to the
attached sheet 2 for internal diameter of rubber pipe for pumps of different nozzles in soft pipe movable installation.
6.Flange size refers to discharge bent pipe flange and flanges of both discharge pipe and bent pipe connector.

Inside the submersible sewage pump, there are various kinds of protection devices for motor. The control panel should be
matched in accordance with these devices. Besides, the control panel should also be made with float switch for controlling
the liquid level. So, control panel for sewage pump should be specially designed and used professionally. The control panel
supplied by our company is a good example of this kind, which, in addition, has multiple protection functions of master
return circuit short-circuit, overloading and lack of phase. For those of over 15kW, there are also functions of auto-coupled
voltage reducing and electric soft start modes. When control panel with master and stand-by controls works under normal
conditions, the master and stand-by control pump will alternate in the following ways: by hand, (under the condition of
endless operation) and timely automation (under the condition of intermittent operation). In case of trouble, control panel
with both master and slave control can switch off the troubled pump and turn on the backup one automatically. If customers
use our control panel but disconnect with the pump protection device or they use their own control panel not well matched
with the pump protection devices and with no functions of main return circuit short-circuit, overloading and lack of phase
and even not equipped with fuse, the control panel will not alarm and will not stop the pump when in trouble. The result is
that the motor will be burned if they do not conduct normal check. Therefore, it is better that the users buy the special
control panel for sewage pump when they order the sewage pumps

The lowest liquid level is marked on the catalogue and instruction for the submersible sewage pump. For pumps of
7.5kW and lower ones, there is a marking of lowest liquid level point, where the stator of motor is submerged in half.
But for the pump of 11kW and greater ones, there are two lowest liquid level points for both with motor cooling system
and without motor cooling system. The lowest liquid level for those without motor cooling system can guarantee motor
cooling. The lowest liquid level for those with motor cooling system, however, can exhaust the air inside pump before
operation and make the suction point submerge to the minimum extent, thus no air will be absorbed during operation.
The float ball switch for liquid level is used when the control panel is set in auto mode.The connection and setting:
there are three wires of black, brown and blue inside the cable of float ball switch. When the float ball is up, the wires
of black and brown are connected while the ones of black and blue are disconnected.

When the float ball is down, the wires of black and blue are connected while the ones of black and brown are disconnected.
The switch is placed in standby position when the float ball is in the middle. It operates in turn when the float ball is up or
down. Connect the black and brown wire with control panel and wrap the blue one for insulation when de-watering. Connect
the black and blue wire with control panel and wrap the brown one for insulation when supplying water. If only one float ball
switch controls two liquid levels for start and shutoff of pump, the position for gravity hammer can be adjusted thus the liquid
difference for start and shutoff of pump is determined. In theory, one float ball switch can control the water level of one set
pumps during operation of start and shutoff pump. The arm length of float ball will become longer accordingly when the water
level difference is increasing and accuracy of liquid level control will be effected negatively by the deed weight of the cable
from gravity hammer to float ball. Float ball setting of control panel for sewage pump from our company: for the main pump,
there are two float ball switches to control the start and shutoff separately. For the standby pump added for high water level,
only one float ball switch controls the start and shutoff. Customers are welcome to place an order for our float ball switch if
they need more float ball switches than ordinary or even if they do not need our control panel for sewage pump.

Customers are welcome to consult with out technology department for technical issues in order to choose the
appropriate pup they need.
When you place an order, please indicate: serial No., impeller No., flow part material, installation mode and
discharge nozzle diameter.
Movable installation can be adopted if the pump discharge nozzle diameter is no more than 150mm and the motor
power is no more than 22kW.
Auto-coupled installation can be adopted for pumps of all power range.
Normally a 10-meter-long motor cable is provided. For other sizes, please specify in the order.
Common water pipe or steel pipe can be used as connecting rod because of the excellent design of rod bracket in
auto-coupled installation. For calculation and measurement of common water pipe and steel pipe, please refer to our
catalogue.
You are welcome to consult with our technical departments on technical issues in order to select the best pump.
Please indicate the following parameters when placing the order, serial number, impeller number, flow part material,
installation mode and discharge nozzle diameter.
Movable installation R Y can be adopted if the pump discharge nozzle diameter is not more than 150 and motor
power is not exceeding 22kW.
Auto-coupled installation Z can be adaptable to pumps discharge nozzle diameter is not more than 600 mm.
Common water pipe or steel pipe can be used as connecting rod contributive to excellent design of rod bracket in
auto-coupled installation. For detailed calculation and measurement of common water pipe and steel pipe, please
refer to the catalogue above. Customer can purchase on his own and cut to fit the application. Connecting rod is not
included in all auto-coupled installations.
Fixed base-plate installation P can be adopted for WQ4000 type pumps which discharge nozzle diameter is 150 and
200, fixed base-plate installation F can be adopted for WQ4000 type pumps which discharge nozzle diameter is 250
to 900. Except WQ4000 type pumps, all of the pumps which motor power is large than 11kW can adopt fixed
base-plate installation P and fixed dry base-plate installation G.
Fixed dry base-plate installation G cannot be adopted for WQ4000 type pumps.
Fixed base-plate cannot be adopted for some WQ4000 type pumps exceeding 11 kW, they are: WQ4260-654,
WQ4260-655, WQ4290-851, WQ4327-852, WQ4327-853, WQ4445-854, WQ4520-1050, WQ4520-1051,
WQ4520-1052, And WQ4520-1053.
Fixed base-plate or fixed dry installations can be adopted for pumps exceeding 11 kW, and must specify whether
motor cooling system is required. If cooling system is adopted, please specify whether to use pump liquid or foreign
cooling liquid for cooling.
When fixed dry installation is applied, motor cooling system must be specified a state whether to use pumped liquid
or foreign cooling liquid for cooling.
Normally a 10-meter-long motor cable is provided. For other sizes, please specify in the order.
Optional parts and components for maintenance should be ordered in separate order.
Full set of parts can be supplied according to the customer’s selected installation.
Each pump of hard pipe movable installation includes one bent pipe; each pump of soft pipe movable installation
includes one soft bent pipe. Please reorder for more.
The flange of bent pipe: discharge nozzle diameter of the pipe is less than 400 according GB4216.3 or
GB17241.6 PN6 (viz. 0.6MPa) standard. Discharge nozzle diameter of the pipe is 400 or large than 400 according
GB4216.3 or GB17241.6 PN10 (viz. 1.0MPa) standard.
Subulate pipe is supplied by order. The specification of subulate pipe are: 50×65, 50×80, 65×80, 80×100,100×150,
150×200,200×250,250×300,300×350,350×400,400×450.The subulate pipe on the discharge pipe must be use for
diffusion, not for constriction; and it is better to use for constriction on suction pipe.
The flange of subulate pipe: discharge nozzle diameter of the pipe is less than 400 according GB4216.3 or GB17241.6
PN6 (viz. 0.6MPa) standard. Discharge nozzle diameter of the pipe is 400 or large than 400 according GB4216.3 or
GB17241.6 PN10 (viz. 1.0MPa) standard.
When subulate pipe connected with bent pipe, the nozzle diameter of them should be similar, It according “first
diffuse, then swerve” ruler.
When the diameter of pipe is large than the outlet diameter of pump which used auto-coupled installation, you can
installation a subulate pipe on the discharge bent pipe, and little discharge nozzle diameter of subulate should be
same to the outlet pipe’s diameter.

5.Some pumps’ performance is superposed with WQ4000 type pumps are placed in the second part of the pattern
diagram, the main difference is their impellers channel is larger, but the efficiency of WQ4000 pumps is higher.

Main Applications
Features and Main Advantages
There are some difference between WQ2000 and WQ4000 type pumps, so we instruct WQ4000 type pumps at bellow.
WQ4000 type pumps are mainly used in municipal engineering projects, buildings, industrial waste release, waste
water treatment, city’s water supply, water circulating for power plant and farmland flood-drain and irrigation. Which
can pump clean water, dirty water, rain water with solid and long fiber wastes. But it can not use for pump erosed and
erodent medium.
1.WQ4000 type submersible sewage pumps adopted the advantages of domestic and foreign mix flow type pump with
comprehensive improvements in hydraulic model. The impeller is vane, efficiency is high, The pumps are widely used
in large flow and middle or low head conditions.
2.Four modes of installation: auto-coupled installation, hard-pipe movable installation, soft-pipe movable installation
and fixed base-plate installation.
3.The largest dimension of the solid which can across the impeller is marked in the “Main data” of WQ4000 type
pumps.

Mix flow impeller, impeller are compose of blade, widely used in large flow, middle and low head conditions.
All of the WQ4000 type pump equipped entrance pipe.
Upper bearing is ball bearing, which bears radial force while lower bearing bears radial and axial force. In
accordance with different radial and axial force, double-line ball bearings, single-line ball bearing and two ball
bearings plus one column roller bearing are option with enough allowance. In addition, these bearings are of famous
brands to ensure the endurable ability.
There are five installation modes: auto-coupled installation (Z), the first fixed base-plate installation (P), the second
fixed base-plate installation (F), soft-pipe movable installation (R), hard-pipe movable installation (Y).
Installation mode is according to the discharge nozzle diameter.
In installation drawings, the flange which discharge nozzle diameter no more than 300 according to GB/T
17241.6-1998 0.6Mpa standard, the flange which discharge nozzle diameter exceeding 300 according to GB/T
17241.6-1998 1.0Mpa standard.
All of the installation of pumps are very simply.
Only can be applicable to the pump discharge nozzle diameter is 150.
Only can be applicable to the pump discharge nozzle diameter is 150 to 600. All the pump that use auto-coupled
installation must ensure the distance from suction to the grand is adequacy, the distance usually is the pump discharge
nozzle diameter, so as to the pump can suction well. Except pump discharge nozzle diameter is 150, all of the pump must
build a stage for discharge bent pipe. For example WQ4520-859:

Only can be applicable to the pump which discharge nozzle diameter is 250 and 900. Because we must ensure the distance of
suction to the grand is enough, so we must build two concrete stages, then put the pump between the two stages, two stages
support the pump.
For example WQ4520-665:
Fixed the pump on the foundation, connected the discharge pipe, then the pump can operate. The base-plate must be
fixed by grounding bolts. The material of grounding bolts is stainless steel. Other instructions are similar to the WQ
instruction.

Bold parts in curve on performance curve chart show the recommended application scope of pump. Pump
efficiency will be very low or the motor will face the danger of overloading when the scope is exceeded.
Because WQ4000 type pumps are mix flow pump, the draft power of the pumps will reduce when the flow
increase. If the flow is less the left scope, the motor will overloading; if the flow is large than the right scope,
motor will not overloading, but the pump’s efficiency is very low, it is unreasonable to use pump at this condition,
and the pump will bring some problem such as libration and noise.

WQ4000 type pumps are different with other WQ type pumps):
