Purpose of the Fundraising:To assist with the building of an activity centre for Uniao Nacional Dos Escuteirosde Timor Leste.

Major obstacles faced:Nothing major, there have been difficulties getting people engaged with the activity
Message to share:This project support the Strategic Priority of World Scouting, Reaching Out, this project responds to needs of young people and adult in a country where Scouting is currently still developing. This results in an increase in membership
Educational aspects:This project helped Scouts understand the situation of their fellow Scouts in a neighboring country. The project allowed Australian Scouts to reach out to the disadvantage, when the activity centrewas completed, this will help Scouts of Timor- Leste to have a better purpose in life by providing them with facilities for their activities

Educational aspects:The Foundation does not involve young people but the funds allocated for projects, the primary beneficiaries shall be the young people.

Purpose of the Fundraising:Raise funds to help the Scout Groups, Districts and Regions.
Funds are also used for Scouting projects in Hong Kong. It is also allocated to Scout Groups, Districts and Regions. The HQ’s Scout Development Fund is partially supported by the funds raised.

Message to share:1. A meaningful event which all Scout
members can be involved2. The surplus of the event was kept above
90% of the total fund raised.
Educational aspects:Scouts can boost their confidence, have a sense of belonging and responsibility through:1. Selling raffle tickets2. Helping in the raffle draw

Educational aspects:The program is for Scout Leaders where they discuss and practice the various techniques of Scouting and get a variety of new knowledge to be applied in leading and coaching the Scouts
Major obstacles faced:The main constraint is determination of time. Most of the Scout Leaders are lecturers at school and civil servants.
Message to share:This give an opportunity to Scout Leaders to meet and exchange experiences. It is very important to learn something new.

Purpose of the Fundraising:To support the Boy Scouts of the Philippines for recovery activities hit by typhoon Haiyan
Brief description:The Philippines was badly hit by typhoon Haiyan. KSA decided to help our Scouts brother’s country through BSP. KSA start to design donation campaign and work with Happybean Foundation, an online donation portal

Major obstacles faced:1. Increase PR opportunity in cyberspace
and its internal/ external strategy development
2. Prepare most updated and effective PR material to persuade partner for frequent exposure
Message would you like to share:1. This on- line oriented donation scheme is
relatively new idea to KSA. Investigate your NSO to find similar service provider and visit them to be a partner.
2. The monthly regular donor program through bank transaction scheme is most recommendable solution to have secure fund. KSA having a good return every year to practice sharing project
Educational aspects:1. Most of the participants are recruited
from on-line promotion after setting up the effective digital PR strategy through Naver HappyBean donation system
2. Not a big amount of donation but about 10cents/ bean collected from cyberspace brings a lost of satisfaction to little donor
3. The project Is open for public in cyberspace and the initiator needs to promote campaign to his/her troop, family and community

Project Title :Youth Philanthropy Program @Cambodia with HappyBean

Purpose of the Fundraising:To practice Youth Philanthropy program and donate 4 boats to families in Cambodia who needs to earn money
Brief description:Youth philanthropy program with HappyBean is a newly developed KSA’s new youth leadership building projects through fundraising activities. Youth prepare the project plan and approved by the KSA task force team, the project will be shared online through HappyBeanonline promotion.

Major obstacles faced:1. The public audience is not used to
understand the term “Youth Philanthropy” in English, even though advanced technology and social practices were implemented based on Western culture
2. To build better Scout brand image through Youth Philanthropy activities and implement fully the unique cyber donation scheme will be a challenge
3. KSA put into incubating process for 18 months to meet more than 4,600 Scout and non- Scout Youth, their teachers and family members
4. The target audience, Young People, and major partner, Naver- HappyBean, was excited to make Youth Philanthropy Summit held on March 2014 successfully.
Message to share:1. Youth Philanthropy is not a rare term in
CFRE (Certified Fund Raiser Executive) world
2. In 2006, Youth Philanthropy summit was also held in USA and its influence was worldwide
Educational aspects:1. To practice Scout oath No. 2 “to help
other people at all times”, Youth Philanthropy program started from KSA and completed at National Congress
2. As a group or individual activity, at classroom or patrol meeting, the project can be adopted every occasion if there is good spirit to help others
3. By thinking who needs Scouts help and what kind of help they needed are the starting point of writing Scout YP project sheet
4. To start on-line and off-line activities through donation, Young People can enjoy the “Feel Good” activities under Philanthropy spirit

Project Title : Job Week (JW)

Purpose of the Fundraising:The Scout units take 50% of their Job Week earnings to run their unit activities and the remaining is shared between the Areas (8%) and HQ (42%) to finance international, training, and programmeactivities at districts, area and national levels as well as for staffing and operational costs.

Major obstacles faced:From time to time, we get complaints from members of public that our Scouts beg for donation in absence of work to be given instead of asking jobs or chores to be done. We continually conduct briefing to the Scout Leaders for them to educate their scouts on the Do’s and Don’ts of JW in the importance of honest work
Message to share:The need to educate our Scouts on the main purpose of JW
Educational aspect:The main purpose of the JW is to inculcate in Scouts the dignity of labourand the value of honest work. Scouting provides fundamentals and foundational training in inculcating of these intangibles. The values, no doubt will enable the Scouts to be better leaders and citizens of tomorrow in our affluent society. It helps the Scouts the value of rendering service before they go out to earn money of their Units and for the Association.
