I. About us

Suguna Institute of Poultry Management (SIPM) established in 2012 under the

Suguna Foundation, aims to enable a scientific understanding of Poultry Farming in

the most conducive environment through a well-structured curriculum. Suguna, one

of the biggest Poultry companies in the country, has transformed the livelihoods of

thousands of farmers in rural India over the past 25 years bringing rich expertise and

experience to the industry. It is the legacy which SIPM brings to students aspiring to

make a mark in the Poultry industry.

SIPM offers 100% placement to students upon completion of any of the

Diploma or Certificate Courses. With Suguna being the industry leader in Poultry,

SIPM offers the right platform to learn about Poultry and Poultry allied subjects.

SIPM also offers an opportunity for aspiring rural entrepreneurs to gain

knowledge about the poultry field and upon completion of the course; Suguna Foods

Ltd., shall provide continuous support to rural entrepreneurs in setting up and running

their own farms. SIPM is one of the few places in India offering such specialized

skill development courses, with a view to expand the poultry industry in a more

scientific manner.

SIPM is located in a place throbbing with poultry activities and has the latest

technology and practices to provide the right exposure to its students. Located in

Udumalpet, in close proximity to Suguna’s own hatcheries, chicken processing plant,

feed mills, breeder farms, broiler farms and quality control labs. It offers rich

practical experience for the students, combined with theoretical learning.

Location of the Institute

With its close proximity to all the arenas of practical learning in the Poultry

industry, Udumalpet is the perfect place for students to gain knowledge in the chosen

field of study. Udumalpet has extremely well connected transport facilities, with a

good network of buses.

Udumalpet is surrounded by mountains on three sides. Udumalpet enjoys a

beautiful climate and offers many options for weekend getaways. Thirumoothy hills

and falls, Amravati Crocodile farms, Palani, Chinnar wildlife sanctuary, Munnar,

Marayur, Indira Gandhi wildlife sanctuary and many such places are located very

close to Udumalpet.

studied Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or Certificate courses in ITI

in Mechanical and Electrical engineering will be preferred

V. Mode of Selection

Based on the qualifying examination marks

Viva-voce

Practical Experience

Candidates will be selected on the basis of marks in their examination obtained

in 10th

, Experience and Viva-voce for the Diploma and certificate courses.

Selected candidates will be intimated by post and they have to join the course

by paying the tuition fees within 10 working days failing which they will forfeit their

right of admission and the wait list candidate will be selected. No extension of time

will be given to join the course or payment of fees. The tuition fee stipulated by the

Institute is fixed and is likely to increase as per the decision of the Institute’s

authorities. For the candidate admitted for the Diploma course a maximum period of

10 working days are allowed to register during the first semester and 7 working days

for certificate course. For the second semester of the Diploma Course a maximum of

7 working days are permitted for registration failing which he will forfeit the

admission to the course.

Only male candidates are admitted to the Diploma or Certificate Course in the

Institute.

VII. Hostel Facilities

1. For comfortable stay a student’s hostel with dining facility is available.

2. The student will be accommodated in the hostel to the extent possible, as only

limited facilities are available.

3. Electrical fittings provided in the rooms or in the blocks should on no account be

meddled by the student. If repairs or breakdown occur in any such fittings it

should be reported to the hostel office promptly or to the Warden. Students should

not attempt to carry out the repairs. If any untoward incident happens while doing

repairs on electrical items the administration will not be held responsible for such

mishap/s.

4. Students will not play radios, record players, TV etc in their rooms as it shall

disturb the inmates of the neighboring rooms. No student shall use any extra fan

or heater or any other such appliances in his room. If any student is found guilty

of using such appliances the student will be liable for severe punishment.

5. Any student who misbehaves in the hostel is liable to be expelled from the hostel

by the Warden and will inform the Principal so as to expel him from the Institute

also.

VIII. Scholarships

Poor student will get scholarship on payment of fees. The students those want

to avail the scholarship have to produce necessary evidence to the same. It will be

decided by the committee formed for the purpose.

SUPREME COURT OF INDIA IN SLP (C) NO.24295/2004 CONVEYED BY

THE UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION VIDE LETTER No.F.1-8/2006

(CPP-II) DATED: 04.03.2008

If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned

student shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explanation is not found

satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the Institution and take appropriate

action as deemed to be fit.
