Sullair Stationary Air Power Systems

Air Compressor Life Cycle Costs

According to Best Practices forCompressed Air Systems,Compressed Air Challenge, SecondEdition, 2007, energy costs now

represent 82% of the total operatingexpenses. Energy savings from SullairS-energy® compressors cansignificantly reduce life cycle costs.

The Sullair S-energy® compressorssignificantly reduce operating andenergy costs over the entirecompressor life cycle. Contributing tothe energy savings are:

• Sullair’s proven air end with the lowrestriction inlet valve

• High efficiency fan

• Low pressure drop air-fluidseparation system to prevent energyloss

Sullair designs deliver cost savings forthe life of the product. Improved airfiltration translates into:

• Extended separator life

• Improved fluid filter life

• Less lubricant contamination

To reduce fluid disposal costs, weoffer our biodegradable Sullube®

8000-hour fluid, or 24KT™, a long-lifefluid that never needs changing.

How the Spiral Valve OperationWorks

The compression volume varies to suitthe air demand by progressivelyopening or closing internal bypassports on the air end.

Capacity is matched to systemdemand, reducing cycling time andextending component life.

Part-load capacity and efficiency canproduce energy savings up to 17%.

Variable Displacement Air End

Sullair’s variable displacement air endmaintains system pressure to

the plant to match air demand. Sincethe VCC compressors use large, efficient, slow running rotors, a lowerpower consumption is achieved at thetop end of capacity. Oil foaming doesnot occur, air is not wasted toatmosphere, and bearings last longer.

The motor and air end run at optimumspeed and therefore maintain optimumefficiency throughout the full variableoutput range.

Sullair VCC compressors react quicklyto rapid changes in demand. Theeffective rotor length is progressivelyreduced as the demand is reducedwhich provides the most efficient part-

load control system to 50% output. This system is extremely simple andprovides a cost effective, energyefficient control alternative.

The S-energy®Performance Air System

Clean, Dry Air is Essential

Quality air treatment — the removalof condensate and particulate — isessential. When cooled, vapor incompressed air will condense. The removal of condensate andparticulate is essential for quality air.First, the air must be dry. Vapor incompressed air will condense whencooled. Without removing thecondensate, moisture in the air streamcan damage your total compressed airsystem, product, or process. To protectyour plant air system and air-usingequipment, particulate must beremoved by filtration. Sullair filters willprovide this protection and improve thequality of your product or process.Proper filtration will also reduce yourcompressed air energy costs.

The Sullair Performance AirSystem

The Performance Air Systemincludes a S-energy®

compressor and a Sullair dryer. We’ve taken the guesswork outof putting your Systemtogether. All components of theSystem have been perfectlymatched and sized to providemaximum performance, without paying for more thanyou need. Plus, thePerformance Air Systemis simple to install and,

because of its small footprint, requiresa minimum amount of floor space.

Sullair Air Quality Guarantee

Two Levels of Air Quality

Sullair recognizes that the requirementsfor air quality vary according to eachcompressed air application. For thisreason, Sullair provides compressedair systems that achieve twodistinct levels of air quality anda guarantee for each.

Sullair Stationary Air PowerSystem

The Sullair Stationary Air PowerSystem matches a Sullair compressor,a Sullair dryer and Sullair filters. Sullairassures that its System will meetspecific performance levels throughoutits operational life. We offer a one-yeartest/review period, backed by apurchase refund guarantee, to verifythe performance of the Sullair System.

Select the System

Select the air quality level to meet yourplant air or process requirements. You

can be assured that the quality of airfrom the Sullair System you specify willremain consistent for the life of theequipment. Sullair guarantees it... andthat’s as good as gold.

The Sullair Oil-Free AirQuality Guarantee

The System consistsof a Sullaircompressor,Sullair dryer, and Sullairfilters. Thecompressed air

from this systemcontains particulates no

larger than .01 micron, includingcoalesced liquid water and lubricants.

Maximum remaining oil aerosol contentis 0.01 parts per million by weight(ppm/w) @ 70°F, including oil vapor. The air from this Sullair System meetsthe most stringent ISO standard (ISO

8573.1, Class 1 for oil vapor andClass 1 for particulate) for air quality.

The Sullair Critical Air QualityGuarantee

The compressed air from this SullairSystem exceeds the ISO standard (ISO8573.1, Class 1 for oil vapor and Class 1for particulate). The System includes aSullair compressor, Sullair dryer, andSullair filters. The odor-free compressedair from this system contains particulatesno larger than 0.01 micron, includingwater and oil aerosol content of 0.01parts per million by weight (ppm/w)@ 70°F. The remaining oil vapor contentis less than 0.003 ppm/w.

A Concern for the Environment

Mindful of our natural resources thatare used to create and supplyelectrical energy, Sullair is focused onconservation and committed toproviding air compressors that willuse this energy most efficiently.

Other environmental features of theS-energy® Series compressorsinclude:

• Fully-sealed protection pan that willcontain compressor fluid should anyspill while servicing

• Coreless fluid filter of non-metallicdesign that can be eitherincinerated or crushed, virtuallyeliminating disposal concerns andexpense

• Sullair’s environmentally compatiblefluid, Sullube®, is biodegradable

• We've reduced the cost andenvironmental impact of fluiddisposal by offering 24KT™, a lifelong fluid that never needschanging

• Low fluid capacity reduces overallfluid costs and disposal issues

• Health and safety issues areaddressed by utilizing a low noisefan design, reducing the soundlevel to as low as 67 dBA, forworker comfort. Additionally, Sullairmounts air end, motor, and receiveron rubber isolators and insulatesintake and exhaust louvers

Confirming Sullair's rugged design and commitment tocustomer satisfaction, all new lubricated stationary aircompressors (with discharge pressures up to 150 psig)shipped from Sullair's US operations include comprehensiveExtended Warranty coverage. This comprehensive warrantyincludes parts and labor covering:• 10 Years on the air end• 5 Years on the motor, VSD, air/fluid receiver, oil coolerand aftercooler

Most standard compressors are eligible.

A unique design suitable for specificapplications and environments.

Sullair Oil-Free and Critical Air Guarantee

Sullair matches the ideal combination ofcompressor, dryer, and filters to remove

atmospheric particulate, aerosols, andother pollutants to provide two levels ofair quality—from general purpose to

the most critical air applications.
